This Sampler was made by an ancestor of a girl in our class called Lydia Bently. It was made over two hundred years ago. At this time families often thought about God as some children died at an early age due to lack of medicines. This is why there is a prayer on the Sampler. Many little girls at this time would spend time sewing.
