These coins were given as Maundy Money. Giving these coins to deserving poor people forms part of a reigious ceremony held on the Thursday before Easter which dates back to about 600 AD. These coins are a Queen Anne penny (1713), a George II penny (1755), a Queen Victoria penny, 2d and 4d (all 1859) and 1 1/2d (1843).
