My father Bruno Sonaglio is an Italian silver embosser and engraver. When visiting the Archaelogical Museum in Florence he fell in love with the Baratti vase, which was found in the Tuscany sea in 1980. Ever since he dreamt of creating a reproduction. The original was made in Antiochia in 400 dC, following antique procedures. The whole surface of the vase ( 110 cm x 55 cm) is decorated with 115 ovals each representing allegorical scenes from Greek mithology. It was a big challenge to complete such work of art and it took mostly 10 years to complete. Even during his illness my dad kept working, wishing to complete this beautiful object and overtaking many difficulties. I am really proud of him and I would like to whole world to know!
