A padded needle case embroidered with "1918" in the flags of the nations involved and "SOUVENIR FROM FRANCE" in pink. Case is silk with glazed cotton interior and single silk button fastening. Ribbons and bows on cover are now very brittle. Many of these made by French villagers to sell to soldiers during WW1 demobilisation. This one bought by my grandfather, Pte Fred West of The Lancashire Fusiliers.
