This is a photo of my I Ching, an edition in Portuguese (1993), translated from Richard Wilhelm, German translation (1956, 1923), with preface of C.G. Jung (1949). Although this edition is recent and in Portuguese, the I Ching is a Chinese book that started to be written before 2,000 BC, and has received contributions of many people through the centuries. The I Ching is an oracle that has been important in the Chinese tradition, and has inspired many people around the world. I would like this book, in its many translations and editions, to be preserved for future generations because it permits us to have access to a particular form of traditional poetic wisdom, which helps us to understand ourselves through reinterpreting its metaphors and stories in our context.
