Log Boat

Contributed by Brecknock Museum

This log boat or 'dug out canoe' was found in 1925 on the bed of Llangors Lake, Brecon. It has been radiocarbon dated to AD 760-1020. It is associated with Llangors crannog, a small man-made island in the lake. Llangors crannog is the only crannog so far found in Wales, and was a Royal Residence for the local Kingdom of Brycheiniog.
