A license for a rickshaw

The rickshaws were licensed by the Bulawayo Municipality and the license was displayed on each vehicle as an enamelled metal plate measuring six inches by four inches and 1/16th inch thick

Prior to 1940 there were no motorised taxis in the city of Bulawayo in Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) and passengers arriving by train could be transported in to the city, in rickshaws drawn by African men dressed in typical colourful tribal costumes.
