Papyrus makes us think of a long long time ago and how clever the ancient people were.We tried to make our own papyrus but we found it very hard.Papyrus is a reed which grows near rivers,it was cheap to make but sometimes it would crack and dry out.People started to use animal skins called parchment instead of papyrus because it was more flexible and
it was stronger.The papyrus looks and feels quite smooth and you can easily see the reeds laid on top of each other.
