Leonie Robinson came to ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Suffolk with an amazing book, which belonged to her great, great, great grandfather.
It was given to him by the rector of Thorpe Morieux, a small village in mid Suffolk. Leonie describes him as a poor woodsman of the village and all of the space around the text on the pages is covered with his observations of village and family life.
These include concern for his sister's young twins who keep running in circles until they fall over with dizziness. He also notes the start of the trial of William Corder, accused of the Red Barn murders, one of Suffolk's most grizzly tales and a trial which attracted national coverage. Corder was hanged in Bury St. Edmunds in 1828.
