Book of poems

Contributed by Coleraine Library AHOW event

The poems contained in this old book were copied into it by my great aunt - Miss Wilson. The first poem is about the Boer War and was written by Private Rabbie Grey of the 2nd Blackwatch after a major battle. Some of the poems are love poems. Miss Wilson later married and then emigrated with her husband to Australia - she didn't take the book of poems with her though, so it's remained a family heirloom. Later my grandfather, who was a commercial traveller, used the book for making notes!
