Derek Tostevin brought this 'tap and die' set to the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Guernsey Outside Broadcast at the Guernsey Museum.
It was used for cutting a thread into a piece of wood. Specifically, it was used to allow pieces of furniture to accomodate drawers and knobs and to put connection points into standard lamps.
It could be used to fix bed posts or wherever a threaded fixing was needed.
