This bronze sculpture was created by the Scottish artist Sir Eduardo Paolozzi (1924-2005). The work is comprised of a group of six architectural pieces that when placed together, with their bases touching, suggests a sinuous but industrial cityscape. The units of this piece are mostly cannibalized i.e. re-used from earlier destroyed works. Paolozzi is known for his graphic surrealist work mostly executed in collage, screenprint, and sculptural form.
This object from the collection of the Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery was selected by Shan MacDonald who created the Hunterian Art Gallery's Relic Challenge.
