This knob kiri was thought to be a walking stick. It has been kept in the milk churn in the hall along with the umbrellas. It has woodworm and was nearly thrown away. A knob kiri is a lethal weapon used to smash skulls. This was bought by my Grandfather on a cruise with the White Star Line. He was an officer on the ship which possibly called into South America. Carved on the stick is the word Pitcairn. It is quite likely this knob kiri was made by a direct descendant of the Mutiny on the Bounty. They set up home on the tiny Pacific Island in 1759 mutineers. It gives me the shudders to touch it when I know it could have killed someone.
