Banknotes from occupied Guernsey

Julia Blondin has a set of banknotes handed down to her from her parents, which were used during the occupation of Guernsey by German forces between 1940 and 1945.

The 'States of Guernsey', as the island's government is called, continued to print the sterling currency during the Second World War, despite being under the control of German forces.

To this day, Guernsey prints its own money - including its own, green pound notes. However this money exactly equates to pound sterling.
