9pm - Midnight
Paul Putner - aka Paul from Fat Fighters - presents three hours of Little Britain.听 As well as five editions of the radio series, there's the chance to hear Matt Lucas interviewed by Jimmy Carr in Chain Reaction.
Paul also talks about life behind the scenes on both radio and television and talks to radio producer Ashley Blaker about how the show began on 大象传媒 Radio 4.
Little Britain was first broadcast as a radio series on 大象传媒 Radio 4 in 2001, with the second series following in 2002.听 Both series were very successful and attracted awards - including a SONY Gold for best Radio Comedy.
Due to the amazing success of the TV series the 大象传媒 released unabridged versions of both series of the Radio Show.听 A compilation CD won the Spoken Word Awards in 2004.
If you know Little Britain from TV, then you'll already be familiar with the old favourites Vicky Pollard, the Prime Minister and Sebastian, Viv - who finds all sorts of things "Gaaawgeous", Kenny Craig... and Daffyd Thomas.
Matt Lucas and David Walliams delight in all that is mad, bad, quirky and generally bonkers about the people and places of Britain.听 This takes the form of a tour around the oddball world of Little Britain, with the booming god-like voice of Tom Baker providing the narration.听 This is a Britain where the capital city is called Sneddy, where Whizzer and Chips has a political correspondent and where, unlike other countries, there are in fact TWO genders.
Each programme features a host of characters such as rubbish transvestite Emily Howard, former Olympic champion turned business lecturer Denver Mills, Daffyd, the only gay man in Llandewi Brefi, and games inventor Matthew Waterhouse, as well as old favourites Sir Bernard Chumley and slimming expert Marjorie Dawes. The sketches are all introduced by the voice of Tom Baker and the series features a theme recorded by David Arnold (The World Is Not Enough, Tomorrow Never Dies, Stargate).
The main performers, Matt Lucas and David Walliams, have written and performed in their own series Sir Bernard鈥檚 Stately Homes on 大象传媒 2, two series of Rock Profiles for UK Play and have taken several successful shows to the Edinburgh Festival.
Matt Lucas has appeared as George Dawes in Shooting Stars as well as starring in Smell Of Reeves And Mortimer, Sunnyside Farm, 滨迟鈥檚 Ulrika and Harry Enfield鈥檚 Yuletide Log. He has also written for Da Ali G Show, he writes a regular column in the Guardian and appeared in the Boy George musical, "Taboo". David Walliams has written and performed in sketches for the Dr Who theme night on 大象传媒 2, as well as appearing in Bang, Bang, 滨迟鈥檚 Reeves And Mortimer and Spaced.
