English

A bat

Its times to have a go at writing your own spooky story and terrifying tale. Here are some things to think about before you get started.

  • To write a scary story you will want to make sure the context is correct. Context means setting your story in the right situation and using the right types of word for that kind of story.

  • Think about using adjectives to bring your setting and characters to life. Adjectives describe nouns (people, places or things).

Look at the examples and decide which sentence sounds more scary.

  • Suddenly, an enormous and very hairy yeti appeared in the opening of the dark, gloomy cave.
  • Suddenly, a small and very shiny yeti appeared in the opening of the bright, sparkly cave.
