According to the UN, in 1990 around 36 per cent of the world's population lived in . By 2015 this number had fallen to around 10 per cent. While this is progress, there is still much more to do to eliminate poverty. More than 700 million people, or 10 per cent of the world population, still live in extreme poverty.
