Module 8 (M8) - Algebra - Indices
Indices are used to show numbers that have been multiplied by themselves. They can be used instead of the roots such as the square root.
Module 8 (M8) - Algebra - Irrational/rational numbers
Every number is either rational or irrational, whether large or small, negative or positive. All recurring decimals (0.á¹…) can be written as fractions and are rational.
Module 8 (M8) - Algebra - Simultaneous equations
Simultaneous equations are two or more equations with two or more variables. They are simultaneous because they can be solved to give values for the variables that are equal.
Module 8 (M8) - Algebra - Surds
Surds are irrational numbers containing a square root sign. They are square roots of numbers that are not square. Irrational numbers cannot be expressed as fractions.
Module 8 (M8) - Algebra - Equation of a circle
Point P with coordinates (x,y) on the circumference of a circle can join to the centre (0, 0) by a line that forms a hypotenuse of a right-angle triangle of side length x & y
Module 8 (M8) – Algebra – Graphs
Simultaneous equations, where one of the graphs is quadratic and the other is a straight line, can be solved by reading the points of intersection
Module 8 (M8) - Algebra - Proportion and variation
Proportion is used to show how quantities and amounts are related to each other.
