Another fab show Buckles...Peter Serafinowicz, what a lovely guy and so funny.
Highlights:

John Ford - Atlantis song - Sounded so promising until he started singing high - Bless!
Guitar Wolf - great to hear some of the Japnese bands that you featured on 'Adam & Joe Go Tokyo' again!
Muppet Shows Mana Mana Song - Never fails to make me smile - good memories!
Tony Rudd singing Machadaynu - just brilliant and you could see how it was highly influenced by Spike Milligan's theme from Q5.
Hearing that theme tune took me straight back to my childhood, staying up way beyond my bedtime and watching Q with my Dad who was a huge Milligan and Goons fan! We were eating Sunday lunch whilst listening to the show today and it was so lovely to share a comedy moment with the whole family. We were all crying with laughter listening to the Q5 music. Thanks Peter for choosing that and bringing back some good memories and inspiring a new one!

Loving all the wacky voiced jibberish songs on today, made me think of the opening bit to the 'Adam & Joe Show' Theme tune. Is there anything more funny that people singing utter nonsense in a silly voice. The German Band 'African' were hilarious too - the lead singer did sound like a muppet, just like Fozzie Bear methinks!

Good job Adam...nicely compiled and you achieved your goal of not just playing novelty songs!

Another good show. Always good to hear Tom Tom Club, John Cooper Clarke and the marvellous Rutles. Spike Milligan was great and the Liam Lynch song is very funny too. Peter was fun especially the modern art bit and glad he did the shipping forecast.

So good to hear Wesley Willis on the radio. I met him at a festival in Charleston, South Carolina in 1995 after a truly memorable set and have a copy of one of his homemade albums 'Fireman Rick' autographed to me "For Najel".

A few years later, after his two 'major label' albums came out, I saw him in Chicago looking fairly unwell and pan-handling. A sad sight.

My last 'encounter' with Wesley was on Brick Lane in London in 2007, four years after he died, when I spotted this sticker on lamp post:

Best show yet - wonderful stuff. Knowing that there will be another one of these to listen to takes the sting out of being back at work on a monday morning!

Hi Marge. You will be glad to hear that the Muppets are coming back. There was a report a few months ago that a new movie is in the works which The Flight Of The Concords are having some form of input. Can't remember if it's writing or directing. According to the report, it would be aimed at a slightly more 'knowing' audience, like the Shrek movies.

Hi Marge. I'm trying to find the link on Ain't It Cool to the news item but I'm not having much luck. I seem to remember hearing the basic plot was Gonzo travelling the world trying to unite the Muppets for a big show. Favourite Muppet? Got to be The Swedish Chef.

I always loved Beaker he was so cute...I remember an episode when he got put in a machine by Dr Bunsen Honeydew and lots of little beakers came out of the other end! "Mee Mee, mee mee mee mee, Mee Mee" - that's Beaker singing 'Feelings', by the way :D :D :D

Loved the show Adam, and Peter's one hell of a witty guy. Particularly enjoyed the music, and have since downloaded much of the playlist - being currently obsessed with Ween and their extraordinary album "The Mollusk".
I also downloaded Peter's show - which is great. Having said that, I didn't pay for either of these, and it's this somewhat cavalier attitude to copyright infringement that's wrong with the world today. Tomorrow I plan to turn myself in.

You're right, it's thievery plain and simple. Most of my friends agree although, living as I do in Brisbane Australia, none had really heard of Adam, Peter, or surprisingly Ween. Now they have, and although expressing early interest and discussing the show at work with great admiration and amusement, I fail to see how this could possibly recompense said artists, or more particularly the people that make their magic happen. We must stamp out this piracy now.

Loved the show and congratulations on the award. I believe that you should also retroactively include 'Stephen' by Ke$ha in the playlist. Not only does the song include lots of lovely Stephenage, but it is also very funny (unintentionally or not, I can't tell) and may be either the best or worst song in the world or possibly both. Perhaps you could include it on another show. Taylor Swift also has a song called 'Hey Stephen'.

Mr Serafinowicz's mum is obsessed by The Fall! It's the shy boyish charm of Mark E Smith surely...The Spike Milligan impression spooked me the heck out; it was like a possession, Linda Blair style. If ever he runs out of jobs [unlikely this decade from what I've heard], he could easily star as the young(ish) Christopher Walken don't ya think?



Guitar Wolf - Summertime Blues....*slack-jaw*...Sounded like he as 'singing' "Aint no QUEUE for the Summertime Blues!" Which to be fair, actually makes almost as much sense as the original line.

Despite many moments of creative transcendence Lou Reed has achieved during his career, some of his singing/lyrical content has always left me gasping for air. 'Stupid Man' sounds like it was something he launched into, getting into the shower one day; feeling mightily jaunty but not having a clue where he was going with it next. I'm crying HOT TEARS of fun as I type this listening to it on Listen Again, ALSO thinking of what John Cale and the rest of the Velvet Underground would have said if he'd proudly presented that piece of writing to the group...AND also thinking of what you said to David Bowie about appearing to be "..a silly man on a number of levels"...

Great show, I finally got round to catching up on the podcast. I was absolutely convinced, given Adam's obsession with David Bowie, that he would include Bowies and Bing crosby's version of Little Drummer Boy which has the funniest/most cringeworthy spoken intro.

Bah, the red ink was showing up in preview in my 2nd to last post, but didn't make the final cut. What a swizz!

A great mix, but there appears to have been a major oversight. Prisencolinensinainciusol, written by Adriano Celantano is one of the funniest, yet deeply moving songs written. Apparently it's what the English language sounds like to non-English speaking foreigners. Although it was written in 1972, it has a pretty funky "rappy" rhythm to it and he wrote it because he felt nobody understood his songs which often had seriously themes.

It's not to late to add it in - I won't tell anyone.
