FILM TAPE NAME AND QUESTIONS FOR PADDY CONSIDINE

Selwyn Bloggit!

Ìý

How are you? I am fine. Saw the Pixies last night so 50% of my hearing has gone and may never return. It wasn't so much Loud Quiet Loud as LOUD! LOUD! LOUD! Amazingly fun though, singing along with every song and seeing them all getting on really well and even recreating the bits of studio dialogue on Surfer Rosa at one stage. A great night.

Ìý

So anyway, it's that time again and it's a big one this week because we have a bona fide film titan in the form of as our guest. If you've seen Dead Man's Shoes or A Room For Romeo Brass both directed by his friend, the brilliant Shane Meadows then you'll know that Paddy is a force of nature on screen and is never less than excellent in whatever role he plays. He's also obsessed with American indie kings and the solo work of lead singer Robert Pollard so I expect he'll be bringing along some good stuff from his GBV locker.

Ìý

As far as the theme of the tape goes, I'm thinking the music should be film related with particular emphasis on music by actors. Paddy himself has a band (Riding The Low) and having seen them live I can assure you that it's no Russell Crowe/Steven Segal/Bruce Willis cringefest but inevitably any actor who turns their hand to music will be seen as part of that somewhat stinky pantheon. Any suggestions for good or very bad music by actors welcome, and if you think there's a film related song or piece of music we should consider too, let us know. As if all that wasn't enough to be asking you, there is of course the all important tape name to consider. Currently the working title is Act Naturally but I'm sure you chaps can do better than that!

Ìý

We're recording the show this Tuesday 8th so if you have please questions, suggestions or titles, please submit them below before then.

IRM by Charlotte Gainsbourg is genuinely very good- produced with Beck.

I can't think of anything very good for the tape name, V. (very) sorry.

'people wot act, but then do singing' ?

    Harry

  • Comment number 2.

I recently watched Paddy C's movie 'Le Donk...' - please can we have a song by Scor-Zay-Zee?

Clearly Will Smith is the all-time greatest movie star and pop wizard - Summertime by JJ and the FP?

As for a mixtape name, how about "No Mr Bond, I expect you to sing/act"

    Terrible

  • Comment number 3.

Paddy Considine obsessed with GBV? I love him even more now.

Anthony Hopkins released a single called 'Distant Star' in 1986. It was #75 in the charts for a week. Far be it from me to comment on it's quality:

  • Comment number 4.

May I be forgiven for reminding everyone of "Benny's theme" from Crossroads, by Paul Henry? OK, not a film, but music by actors

I am pretty sure there was an Archers inspired song too, but far too long ago for me to remember anything about it.

  • Comment number 5.

Hey Dr B, love the show and love Paddy. Definitely looking forwards to this show, the man is a legend.

Jeff Bridges easily deserves to be on the mix tape.

Movin' is a wicked song. Its exactly what the music of the Dude should sound like :D

Please can we have some Bob Dylan too? The Man in Me, from the Big Lebowski...which Im more than a little addicted to. Its easily my favourite of his songs and the scene in the movie with it in is amazing.

I think you played the tumbleweeds song on another episode...it fits with the film but I dont like the song. Man in Me on the otherhand is just perfect.

    I love you bye!

  • Comment number 6.

Are you really on the stuff cool list?

If so you need to do a 'Cool' themed tape

  • Comment number 7.

Love the mixtapes Adam, listen on the iplayer every Monday night.

For the actors turned singers mixtape I reckon Zooey Deschanel (in She & Him) has a really nice voice.

Samuel L. Jackson in Black Snake Moan sings a few Blues tunes and they're pretty great as well,

hope you like these two, cheers!

  • Comment number 8.

Woah! Paddy Considine! Only my fave actor of all time ever. I fear my head may actually explode with happiness.

Okay, a name for the tape...
I'm going to vote for 'Sugar Beat'. As in

    A question for Mr Considine:
You've played so many different kinds of roles (straight comedy, romantic lead, unhinged nutbag) in little indie films and big Hollywood productions - is there anything acting wise you'd really like to have a go at but haven't been given the chance to do yet?

And do you still do any photography or is that creative side now fulfilled by directing?

    (That's two questions, sorry - overexcited :-)

  • Comment number 9.

    Hello there Buckles!
Paddy Considine, one of Britains finest actors, always delivers the goods!
Paddy you are playing the role of Jack Firebrace in the film adaptation of Sebastian Faulks 'Birdsong' (a wonderful novel in my opinion) along with Michael Fassbender; were you aware of the book before getting the role? Was/is it a tough shoot as a lot of your scenes are set under the German trenches?

    Stars in music:
    Keanu Reeves - Dogstar
Juliette Lewis - Juliette and the Licks - Sticky Honey
    Jack Black - Tenacious D
Jared Leto - 30 Seconds to Mars
    Scarlett Johanssen
Zooey Deschanel - She & Him - Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?
You've got to have Shatner's version of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds it's a classic!! :D

Oh dear ...this is the part I'm not very good at! :(
    Mix Tape Name Ideas:
    SingStars
    Rock Soundtracks
    Rock Angeles
    Hollywood Hootenanny

    Movie related songs:
Saturday Night at the Movies - The Drifters
The New Age - Velvet Underground
    Lou Reed - City Lights
    Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead
    Roxy Music - 2HB
Mountain - Theme for an Imaginary Western

  • Comment number 10.

Ooops I suddenly changed from Song/Artist to Artist/Song in my list...that's gotta be annoying! Sorry :!

  • Comment number 11.

I recall some time last year there was talk of Paddy and Shane Meadows making a film called "king of the Gypsies" which was going to involve Paddy bulking up big style and getting into some bare-knuckle action. Is there any chance this is still going to happen? If not what would be your ideal film role that would necessitate packing on the pounds?

And if you are looking into the world of actor/film/music crossover type stuff, could you not find some reason to play one of the songs off the Labyrinth soundtrack? Bowie? Go on.

  • Comment number 12.

Just had another thought that you could always reverse the idea and include bands that ventured onto the world of movie soundtracks.
Of course there's the Vangelis Bladerunner soundtrack, which has featured a number of times already...another goodie is the Tangerine Dream soundtrack to Legend. Very tricky to get hold of and also features "Is Your Love Strong Enough" sung by Brian Ferry with Dave Gilmour on guitar and "Loved by the Sun" with vocals by Jon Anderson. Great Stuff!

  • Comment number 13.

    Hi Addy and Paddy.

Paddy - I loved you in Dead Man's Shoes, any chance of a sequel?

He's more of a director than an actor, but I really like Robert Rodriguez's 'Grindhouse - Main Titles' that he composed for the film.

Also, the 'Coyotes' song from Grizzly Man you played ages ago on The Adam & Joe Show is a great song from a movie and while we're on a country and western theme, Gustavo Santaolalla's 'The Wings' from Brokeback Mountain is really good too.

Surely you've got to play some Spinal Tap?

  • Comment number 14.

Do the Swell Season, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, count as actors in music, although they are musicians turned actors for the movie Once.

Falling Slowly is a gem of a song.
    xxx

  • Comment number 15.

(Ryan Gosling) Dead Man's Bones - Pa Pa Power
(John Cho) Viva La Union - Cannibal
(Jada Pinkett Smith) Wicked Wisdom - Something Inside of Me
And for cheese factor, you can't go wrong with Patrick Swayze singing She's Like the Wind.

  • Comment number 16.

How about 'Dance at My Party' for a title, from Dead Man's Shoes? And some Seu Jorge from his Life Aquatic album for movie-actor-summer fun?

  • Comment number 17.

@susannah - +1 here for the Once soundtrack, definitely.

I like MargeGunderson's suggestion of bands doing soundtracks, too. Some faves of mine are stuff like Robin Guthrie's ethereal stuff for Mysterious Skin, Kevin Shields' bits n bobs for Lost in Translation, obviously the Blade Runner soundtrack (who doesn't love that?)... and couldn't you include pretty much anything by Danny Elfman in that category? Technically he started out with Oingo Boingo, didn't he? The score for Edward Scissorhands makes me cry even without the film over it.

Also I reckon you have a great excuse to play some Tom Waits (musician/actor). Watched Book of Eli the other day, and he's the only thing I remember from it before I slipped off into a deep coma of boredom.

  • Comment number 18.

Great idea Adam. Certainly my favourite musician/actor hybrid is Tom Waits. Primarily a musician, yes, but he's genuinely brilliant in films like Short Cuts and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. And looooooaaads of his songs have featured in movie soundtracks. Pretty much anything by Waits is worth a listen - but why not creep out your audience by playing 'What's He Building In There?'; the lyrics sound like a film plot, and it's scary, like a horror film.

OR, you could double down on the musician/actor hybrid madness by playing one of Scarlett Johanssen's (frankly quite insane) Tom Waits covers. Doesn't get more hybridy than that!

  • Comment number 19.

I remember Colin Farrell recorded a particularly awful version of 'I Fought The Law' by the Clash for the soundtrack of the film 'Intermission'. As well as not having a very strong singing voice, he constantly mispronounces the word 'law' as 'lohwrrr', which- as you know, recurs quite often in a song about the 'law'.

Personally, I'm of the opinion that if the 'lohwrrr' had the misfortune to hear to this song even once, it would be quite confused and wonder if it had actually been victorious after all. In fact it would probably lock the taskbar and throw out it's computer:

Also, myself and my brother have had hours of fun quoting from Paddy Considine's performances in 'Dead Man's Shoes' and 'In America' (particularily the lines "You're dyin'... I'm sorry"), I was wondering what's the one quote that people run up to him and yell in his face, or if they are altogether more polite than that.

    Good luck with the mixtape!

    Enda, Dublin

  • Comment number 20.

If you were placed in the shoes of Marty McFly, what song would you play at the 1955 Enchantment Under the Sea dance?

  • Comment number 21.

Wavey Adam, Wavey James, Wavey Paddy.

I am sure you'll be including something from Scor-Zay-Zee, as Squirrel suggests. It would be so rude not to.

As it's a Sunday morning, you could probably get away with one of Clint Eastwood's soundtrack pieces and you'll no doubt be chewing your nails trying to decide which Bowie track to play this week.

If you really want to insult yourself and your adoring listeners with a meta song about an actor, by an actor you need look no further than Mr Harris by The Ordinary Fear of God (feat Russell Crowe) and you can even use it as a springboard for Paddy to regale us with his tales of shooting with the great big Kiwi ponce (I say that with a degree of fondness, albeit possibly misplaced).

I'm still working on a suitable title..........

  • Comment number 22.

Reiko Ike is my personal favourite actor/singer. Her one and only album was deliriously fun, plenty of Je T'Aime-style grunting and moaning sitting snugly alongside a (3 minute long) cover of Terry Riley's Rainbow In Curved Air. Every song sounds pretty much the same, but that never stopped The Fall did it?

  • Comment number 23.

I'm crap at finding titles, sorry. However, here are some recommendations:

[x] Coconut Records, Jason Schwartzman's band, is really good. Any song from second album "Davy" is worth being on a mixtape.
[x] She & Him. It was mentioned in a previous comment. Zooey Deschanel has got a great (if you enjoy that sort of voices, that is). I would pick a song from "Volume Two" rather than 'Volume One', also. Like 'Home' or 'Over It Over Again'. But second album is all good, really.
[x] Rilo Kiley or Jenny Lewis solo, I suppose. I guess she's probably more popular as an actress in the USA, but still. A song like "The Charging Sky" from her first solo record with the Watson Twins sounds like a good pick.

  • Comment number 24.

I agree with the above, Coconut Records are a great band and Jason Schwartzman is ace! I'd recommend the songs 'Microphone', 'West Coast' and 'Wandering Around'.

  • Comment number 25.

(BTW... Well done to @happygoth for calling the Art Pop mixtape name!)

  • Comment number 26.

Paddy, yours is the third name (of an actual person) on the list that appears upon entering just your first name into Wikipedia. Chuffed?

Why are Shane's films so good? Why can't anyone else be so consistently excellent?

Will you be playing a part in the 'This is England' series? May I have a part, please? I'm from the Midlands!

  • Comment number 27.

I will add no new musical suggestions at this junction, but fully endorse the Scor-Zay-Zee, Tom Waits and Jack Black propositions.

  • Comment number 28.

    Hi Adam,

I don't think you can do a tap on musical actors and ignore the work of William Shatner. He's produced a whole host of rambling spoken word versions of popular tunes, but realeased an amazing album called "Has Been" produced by Ben Folds (of Ben Folds Five fame). There is an AMAZING tune that is a Shatner and Henry Rollins rant called "I CAn't Get Behind That" that you realy should play (might wnat to chack for F-Bombs, I'm desensatised to such things).

As for a name? I've struggled.... hows about "Lights! Camera! Rock'n' Roll!"?

  • Comment number 29.

Oh, and how about some music from a John Carpenter soundtrack. He did the music for all his movies.... my particular favourite is "Escape From New York" but hey! what not make a little montage of Caprenter Classics???

  • Comment number 30.

I should really save all this up for one post, but here's another suggestion...

For the absolute bottom of the barrel of actor/musician take a look at the youtube clip of Ken Barlo rapping on This Morning (search: Bill Roache rapping). WARNING! You may cringe to death.

I don't know if Bill Roache's "J'Taime Teddy Bear" is on the 6music playlist, but I know you can make it happen Dr Buckles!

  • Comment number 31.

Definitely need some Scorzayzee on there as others have suggested. What about Jamie Foxx? I'm not a massive fan of a lot of his music but he's got an awesome voice and I thought he was great in "Ray".

  • Comment number 32.

Off the top of my head I would suggest these tracks:

Pop Goes my Heart, from the Music & Lyrics soudtrack - Hugh Grant singing perfect 80's pop cheese.

Will Ferrell and the Channel 4 News Team - Afternoon Delight, from the Anchorman soundtrack. "The greatest composition in human history, and if you disagree I will fight you."

Mel Brooks - "It's good to be the King rap" and/or "To be or not to be (the Hitler rap)" Hilariously bad taste lyrics, but both were hits, with funky backing tracks and catchy choruses.

Anything from the Sweeney Todd soundtrack, although probably not very 6 music. "By the Sea" is probably the simplest track. Fantastic film.

    Love the show.

  • Comment number 33.

Mae West has an album called "Way Out West," which features various rock songs sung by the lady. It's fantastic.

    For example:

  • Comment number 34.

    More actor/musicians...

PJ Harvey has been in a couple of films, hasn't she?

Also Mark Kozelek was in Almost Famous/Vanilla Sky/Shopgirl - any excuse to hear some Red House Painters/Sun Kil Moon :)

Not very 6Music, but Robert Downey Jr does some of that there music stuff. I can't say I've listened to any of it (having YouTubed it, it seems a bit Radio 2) but he's a good pianist. That other Jr as well... Harry Connick Jr. Croonfest.

  • Comment number 35.

I absolutely agree that this needs some Shatner on, but I think the track you should play is "I Can't Get Behind That". It also has Henry Rollins, of Black Flag fame, in it. You will find yourself randomly shouting "I can't get behind that!" in the street, I promise.

It's a shame that you can't play Frenzal Rhomb's song "Russell Crowe's Band" due to the copious amounts of swearing.

As far as names go, despite being a bit obvious, i'd submit "Planet of the Mixtapes".

    Matt W

  • Comment number 36.

Pleeeeease play the "Golden Age of Video" song

  • Comment number 37.

    @Dr Roobles thank you!

That Barbara Morgenstern was something special, and new to me. Delighted to learn she's worked with Stefan Betke and To Rococo Rot!

  • Comment number 38.

The Pixies do a version of the Lady in the Radiator song from Eraserhead, sort of gently terrifying.

David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti's collaborations are routinely fantastic, I love the sound they get in The Pink Room sequence, for example:

  • Comment number 39.

My favourite song by an actor is Johnny Remember Me by John Leyton, an untintentionally hilarious number about a girlfriend dying in an unspecified way. John Leyton played Ginger in Biggles in the 60s and went on to be one of the tunnelers in The Great Escape. What more could you want.

  • Comment number 40.

    Adam!

Baz Luhrmann's song Everyone's Free to Wear Sunscreen.

Its really good too. You should play it :D

  • Comment number 41.

@Subculture - How about Shatner's version of Common People? ;)

I just had a brainwave you've got to play "Star Wars Theme" by Meco!

  • Comment number 42.

    Happy Birthday Adam!

I second LancelotHogben, a Tom Waits track is about due. How about 'I Never Talk to Strangers' a great duet with another singer/actor Bette Midler?

Ask Paddy if he can do any impressions....

  • Comment number 43.

Hello Dr Buckles, its too hot to sleep so I find myself here thinking of silly things for your wonderful show.

For music, I like Think by Aretha Franklin from the Blues Brothers soundtrack and I could listen to Louis Armstrong sing High Society all day.

For names I could only come up with these I'm afraid:

    Oscars Theme
    Celluloid Android
    In Tune with the Talkies
    Funky Flicks
Who put the Pop in Popcorn
    Flicks Mix and High Kicks

What can I say, its very late and I should be asleep.

Much love as always, Kate xxoo!

  • Comment number 44.

Second/Third/Fourthing William Shatners Common People! Or She & Him.

  • Comment number 45.

Adding my vote to the Zooey Deschanel campaign, I really like the songs from Yes Man by the band-within-the-film, Munchausen By Proxy; I think 'Keystar' is my favourite!

  • Comment number 46.

    Hello Uncle Buckles!

Johnny Depp used to be in a band, called, I believe, P. They may be plops, but probably good for comedy value! I'm sadly lacking in name-thoughts tho, sorry.

I was in John Lewis on Sunday (other stores are available, though not many with the name John in the title), and listened to you for about half an hour in the techie section whilst retuning all the digi-radios to 6music. Black Squadron strikes.............

  • Comment number 47.

There's Billy Boyd, who was Pippin in the Lord of the Rings films, who is the singer in a band called Beecake.

Also, not technically an actor, but Neil Buchanan who used to present Art Attack is in a heavy metal band called Marseille.

  • Comment number 48.

Well! After listening to the Adam & Joe show for years via podcast and the Big Mix Tape since it began, The ´óÏó´«Ã½ has decided it is no longer allowed to be heard outside the UK! Apparently Adam's show is now so good it can not be transmitted to ears outside Britain. My feelings are badly hurt by this.

  • Comment number 49.

Songs about movies also include Ash's Kung Fu and the Wildheart's Splattermania!

    Love, Jack

  • Comment number 50.

I'll add my vote to the play Will Shat's "Common people", and since that most definately was Michael J Fox playing "Johnny be good" in Back to the future, it needs a bash too.
Any chance you can honour Paul Weller, with a spot of "Summer nights" by John Travolta (and a few others).
And we absolutley need Monty Python's Flying Cirus' rousing "Sit on my face", absolutley no swearing whatsoever, so it can fail to be appropriate for a Sunday lunchtime show.
..and a wonderful fade out would be Dudley Moore on the old ivories

  • Comment number 51.

    Music by actors you say?

The one name that leaps straight to mind immediately is Peter Wyngarde.

Known more for his iconic TV character Jason King, he's made just the occasional film appearence too - Probably best known as the voice of Klytus the robot in Mike Hodge's hugely under-appreciated Flash Gordon.

Wyngarde recorded a seminal LP in 1970 which was withdrawn and made unavailable for nearly 30 years, due to the nature of track #3 "Rape" (which is offensive in oh so many ways). When the previously eponymous album was re-released on CD it was renamed "When Sex Leers Its Inquisitive Head".

A masterpiece of the unusual, some of the songs are performed in character as Jason King, a couple are spoken word renditions of poems, but the track for the mixtape is his amazing cover version of The Attack's mod-psychedelia single "Neville Thumbcatch".

If you're unfamiliar with the song then you're in for a treat. Hope to hear it featured in what promises to be yet another excellent two hours on Sunday.

  • Comment number 52.

    Hello Gentlemen,

First off...BIG SHOUTS to Paddy. Britain's finest living actor. Beyond doubt.

Question for Paddy: "Did you programme the keyboards in Le Donk & Scor-zay-zee and did you write your own lyrics?"

    Love the show. Love Paddy.

  • Comment number 53.

A muxtape on actors with fine singing voices?
How can William Shatner not get a mention and a play

  • Comment number 54.

    Ay-up!

It's great how all the people in the pop culture firmament that I admire and whose work I enjoy are all show-biz type buddy-palz! It means my tastes and my soul are in a good place. Aaahh. :)

Having animated you both I feel I'm in a good position to suggest a tune. Which would be 'Rubert Brown' by Scor-Zay-Zee aka, actor and rapper, Dean Palinczuk. Although anything by Scorz would be great.

My question to Paddy would be... What was your biggest challenge directing your first feature film and when is 'Tyrannosaur' due for release?

    Looking forward to the show!

    Cheers.

  • Comment number 55.

I just watched the film Rachel Getting Married and the lead singer of TV on the Radio is the fiance in the film. He sings Neil Young's Unknown Legend in it.

Oh and I just remembered in the film Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Seu Jorge sings some acoustic David Bowie covers in the film, in a different language. Bit odd.

Don't know if these count as they are both singers that act in movies?

    Love the show!

  • Comment number 56.

Hi everyone. I've only got time to mention these at the moment (very busy at my horrible job.)
The William Shatner debate; It just has to be That's Me Trying. It just has to be. Its one of the saddest things every recorded.
Can't believe that no one has mentioned Richard Harris - McArthur Park so far. And I'll mention it but I bet you won't use it; either Pretend To Be Nice or Backdoor Lover from the Josie & The Pussycats soundtrack. And of course you could play an Aimee Mann track as she was the nihlist with the missing toe from The Big Lebowski.
Oh and if we're talking John Carpenter, his best is the Starman theme. "I love you Jenny Hayden,". Gets me everytime, sniff, sniff, blub.

    Bye!

  • Comment number 57.

Oh, nearly forgot. If you play any J-Lo song, I will never listen again.

  • Comment number 58.

    Hi Dr Buck -
    Actors who sing eh?
Well the best one has got to be Richard Harris - McArthur Park.

Here's a good list as a starter for ten.

From the covers alone the Burt Reynolds one is priceless, but my fave is the Anson Williams (Ritchies mate from Happy Days) one. I would never want to hear it as in my imagination it is so profoundly bad that to actually hear it would only leave me disappointed.
It will now live on - only in my memory.

  • Comment number 59.

A bit off topic but I know how you like to analyse the derivative and cringe inducing. I also remember you playing 'Loser' by Beck on the old show and saying how your kids loved it. Well, if you thought the original was a bit too depressing for them check out the 'Glee' cover version. Words can describe the awfulness.

  • Comment number 60.

Not caught up with the last 2 shows yet, and don't have time to give some proper pontification to the blog right now; but ideas for the title - 'Cracked Actors'* [especially fitting if 'The Shat' gets on the tracklist - his version of Mr Tambourine Man changed my perception of music, and just life in general, forever], and 'Sons of the Stage' [World of Twist].

And because a birthday isn't complete without[Unsuitable/Broken URL removed by Moderator]jubilant party tunes all can enjoy.

    ¯°À(º³å´Ç)/¯

*The amount of Bowie references circulating in these parts will eventually reach critical mass, and the sheer gravity of their combined weight will draw him in with the irresistible force of a black hole.

  • Comment number 61.

Hey Radiator, haven't seen a post from you or Sennas for a while, good to see you both back today!
You beat me to it...I was just gonna come on and suggest 'Cracked Actors' too!
The support for the Shatner is gathering momentum!

  • Comment number 62.

Hey Radiator good to see you and Sennas posting again!
Drat you beat me to it I was gonna add Cracked Actors to the suggestions today!
    Here's some other ideas though:
Stick to/Don't stick to the Day job! (meh that's rubbish)
    Hollywood Boulevard of Broken Dreams
"Made it Ma! top of the charts!"
    "...you singin' to me?"
"You're gonna need a better voice!"
"Listen to them. Actors of the movies. What music they make."

  • Comment number 63.

Thanks Marge, nice to hear from you too. "You singing to me?" is a great suggestion. The only thing I can come up with is "A Tapemix Now!".

Just remembered that related to all things Shatner don't forget Leonard Nimoys eye wateringly bad track "Legend of Bilbo Baggins". Hope I got that in before you started recording, Buxs.

And please go for "That's Me Trying". All his stuff is good but that is just brillant.

Day off today, so off to work on my website and to listen to Sundays show.

  • Comment number 64.

Just incase you all think I have gone loopy, I see that it looks like I am repeating myself over two posts. I thought I'd lost my first one so posted again!

  • Comment number 65.

Please play Ash's version of the Cantina Band song!
    It's deliciously loopy.

Can you ask Paddy which of the Four Lions he most resembles?

  • Comment number 66.

Hi Count Buckulese, as a member of slack squadron living out in Shanghai China I always listen to The Adam & Joe show on my way to work which never fails to cheer me up. Recently I have been listening to your big mixtape which has also been great. Unfortunately i went on to iTunes today to try and download it and it said 'This podcast is not available outside the uk'. This is terrible news!! Is there any way around this?
P.S. How about a footie song for the world cup?

  • Comment number 67.

How about some German Hasselhoff classics?
The only title I can think of is 'Lights, Camera, Act/Sing'.

  • Comment number 68.

    More Tape name ideas:
    Tapes of Glory
    Rebel Without a Pause
B Side Story (as in West Side Story and the B side of a cassette!)
