Example - 'Kickstarts'
What we've got here is a synthpopdance sort of song about a failing relationship, the kind where you sometomes can't bear to be together but you can't bear the thought of being apart. It's not that the feelings aren't still there, it's just that old, old story: familiarity breeds contempt. You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone. You can't live with her, but you can't live without her. Her fingertips are holding on to the cracks in your foundations, and she knows that she should let go but she can't.
Yep, that's right, I'm calling this the lairy male response to Kate Nash's prim 'Foundations'. It even, if you listen carefully, shares very faint trace echoes of Kate's descending piano in the chorus, although that might just be wishful thinking on my part.
I don't think so though.
Then again I wouldn't, would I?

Of course, Example being a profoundly optimistic kind of fella, there's a massive difference between his approach to this potentially heartbreaking sitation and sourpuss Kate's. He wants to make it better, for starters. He's sorry for the bad things he's done, he's sorry that he took her for granted, and he's brought along a naggingly chipper/mournful synth-oboe to demonstrate this emotion in a more wordless medium.
And if she would only see his side, well he's got a skippy beat and a dirty bass-line that she might enjoy, once she's stopped fuming. And he's saying warm, empathic things, like:
"Its the same old you the same old me,
You get bored and I get cold feet"
and:
"Forget I've never ever had it so sweet,
I realise what I got when Im out of town
Cos deep down you're my girl in a golden crown"
Which must surely melt the coldest of hearts? OK, probably not Kate's heart, but then he was sick on her new trainers and she'd only just bough...
Oh right, right. Just in my mind. Gotcha.

After the debut success of "Watch the Sun Come Up " and the top 10 success of "Won't Go Quietly " , here comes the third single from this talented young man , who sure knows a thing or two about catchy synth riffs and charming choruses .
I could tell this one would be big on hearing it , months ago , and as radio and T.V have now climbed aboard , "Kickstarts" is a sure fire hit !
There are some wonderful vocal harmonies on this track , that standout keyboard motif running through the song , and of course the yearning , pleading chorus .
A truly fantastic , pop single , and a big kickstart in the charts !

As for me, that song is awful, a new low reached by Dizzee right there. It's all good fun but I can't help but get the feeling he's putting out "whatever sells", as pointed out by Liam, I think. James Corden's chorus is the best part but what does it have to do with the World Cup? Or football at all for that matter?

Secondly Dizzee is donating his Royalties for this song to Great Ormond Street Hospital , so I hope this sells by the bucketload !
Thirdly James's chorus hook is from the chorus of "Shout" a top ten hit in the 80's for Bath's most successful duo , Tears For Fears .
It is 44 years since England won a major trophy , so the chorus message is incredibly powerful .
