MUFTY DAY FOR ME, WHAT CAN I SAY ?
I know, I know, I know, this is going to be terrible for most of you but....
鈥 today is the last day before a two week holiday, hoorah !
The whole week has had a holiday vibe to it, it鈥檚 all been a bit mad with all our normal routines thrown into the air because of our COMIC RELIEF commitments.
In my job, when you wake up with a day ahead of you like today, it simply does not get any better.
It鈥檚 a last chat to the television producers, then let the script slowly sink in and then a slow build to the radio show, nail the radio show and then hot foot it over to TV.Centre on the back of a motorbike to have a riot on the telly.
The craziest thing about days like today is trying to stay calm and not do anything silly in the a.m. and early p.m. Just keep busy otherwise a peak too early is guaranteed.
I am so genuinely excited. I was in bed for half nine last night, I woke up this morning o top form, I am 100% up for it.
I鈥檓 sat here like a coiled spring breathing deeply and there鈥檚 still twelve hours to go:-
Don鈥檛 eat too much, you鈥檒l feel slovenly.
Don鈥檛 drink too much you鈥檒l feel bloated.
Don鈥檛 drink enough and you could pass out.
Don鈥檛 eat anything and you won鈥檛 sparkle.
Go to the gym to oxygenate the mind.
Don鈥檛 overdo it at the gym, otherwise you鈥檒l be knackered.
Don鈥檛 let anyone put you in a bad mood.
Protect an hour this afternoon to focus.
I know it may all sound a bit trivial in the real world but a job done properly and all that !
When I used to host TFI, I took it all for granted and it became a treadmill, now I don鈥檛 do it so much I look forward to it so much more.
So I鈥檒l sit here in a darkened room for the next few hours with just the drip, drip, drip of your comments to keep me company.
See you on the radio and then on the telly and then in two weeks time,
Lots of love, look after yourselves and mange tout, toute le monde.

Looks like you're fired up for it all CLP, I can't stand it when the day has all its import at its end, I tend to be jittery all day waiting for it.
You sound like you've got it all in hand though!
I, on my long journey to radio that started with a hospital radio show two years ago, shall be doing a demo for a South West London radio station later on today. Wish me luck!
Hi Chris, Calm down, you sound like you are about to explode !!!Can't wait for tonight's shows, but please don't go back to TV, we would miss your drive time show SO much. I thought that when Johnny Walker left, it would never be the same, but my husband reassured me that you were a top bloke and you have proved him right. Hope that you are going somewhere nice for your hols ( you are getting more like the Maestro Terry with your hols ) Enjoy yourself........we are off to Mallorca next Sunday and i can't wait. Lots of love to all of you

Good Luck Chris.
Looking forward to Comic Relief tonight - Hope it goes well for you.
Morning CLP
havent posted for ages, but your chipper tone and obvious excitement has encouraged me today.
have a good one, i have the singers and musicians of the Armonico Consort & Orchestra of the Baroque donning a red nose tonight at a festival gig in the hopes it encourages the audience to dig deep.
enjoy your day and have a good break.

Missing you already CLP!

The whole CR thing makes me really proud of the 大象传媒, Richard Curtis and friends, the 大象传媒 listeners and viewers... It's an amazing thing.
Chris Moyles on R1 has raised over half a MILLION quid this week, just through people texting in to win immense prizes, and by collecting at his Karaoke events. HALF A MILLION QUID!!! Stupendous.
I am really looking forward to tonight's show - Fame Academy, Apprentice, all the sketches and guest appearances, and the Great Britsh Public doing everything they can to help those less fortunate, even if for some that means donating a pound from their pocket money, or 拢50k from their PLC.
Have fun tonight Chris - you are very lucky to be paying such a big part in such an overwhelming event.
Happy Comic Relief Day everyone. x
Hi Chris and all other bloggers!
I am a virgin blogger, what better day to start blogging than on red nose day!
I love reading everyones comments, some are sad some are funny and some are just plain daft... but all make great reading.
I love to hear about Enzo he sounds a great dog. I have two dogs, one is a German Shepherd, he is an insult to his breed as thinks he is a cat! Our other dog is a mongrel but is so loving she gets away with murder. We also have two cats and 18 chipmunks.... we have now seperated the boy chipmunks from the girl chipmunks!!!!!!!
It is a glorious day here sun is shining it is friday all my work is done just waiting for the home bell!Have a great time tonight Chris we will be watching, and have a great hols you will be missed, will you be blogging whilst away????
Happy friday to one and all.
Morning Chris!
I cant wait for tonight!
Really looking forward to it-should be super!
Good luck and enjoy you two weeks off!
I dont know what Im going to do without this blog and comments to read!
Take care, Ry
An early one today hey Christoph! I love that excited feeling, quite often I take a big chunk of my Holidays over the summer and go up to Scotland, I have to say that I have been known to put on a CD like Sweet Home Alabama and jump up and down on it all the while giggling madly. Its like your tummy is having a mad funny day and it is so happy it just has to gurgle up and over flow. Looking forward to the show today and then Comic Relief tonight.
Oh and have a fab holiday......

Hey Christoff, in your darkened room...can you hear the drip, drip, drip of the cash already going into the coffers?
Well blow me.
Friday all ready.
Look at that!
...and TARA's in the final! Go Tara, go tara!
The boy is still on nights so have arranged night in with a friend, who I haven't seen for ages, and I think a male might be the reason for her continued absence, so I shall be finding out later...whilst taking in the entertainment being proferred by our licence receiver...
So. Haven't got a red nose on, but am listening to our Tel, and loving the lightbulb jokes!
By the way, I had the great tit back yesterday, and he has finally decided that it IS ok to land on the feeder and help himself. I have also had a chaffinch and an exploratory sparrer. The pheasant also re-appeared, clad in fancy new spring plumage - V posh indeed.
...and there are ten baby bunnies...
I love my job!
Happy CRARF lovely people

Prof Plum - next time while in Homebase (other DIY/Gardening stores available, probably being built near you as we speak) Try doing 'stepping stones' across the floor, on the little feet they sell for holding your patio tubs off the floor. As long as you don't get asked to put them back before you've had a chance to give it a go...
Tickle - did you win? Anything at all? How's the eye?
M.W.a! - Coral mate!
Hi Chris,
Your enthusiasm is contagious and a real tonic. Don't ever stop doing what you do.
I'm really looking forward to COMIC RELIEF tonight, seeing so much good happening and great tv too is a bonus.
Hope to catch the radio show tonight, jumping on the train and going to Greenwich Park with a friend and our boys this afternoon to make the most of this weather, it's all good!
Bloggers hope you all have a great weekend, good luck for the show tonight Chris and then enjoy your well deserved break. We'll miss you!
Love Deb x
Two weeks off, you lucky thing. Good luck with tonight.
JB
Well Mr Christoff - I for one am hoping that you manage to be on tip top condition tonight - can you get Take That to sing one of their old ones for us 1st time round people??
Have just had my toast for the day which should sustain me till lunch time (toast as in Marmite on and not cheers!). Don't strain your eyes in the darkened room, put a little light on to make it easier to read the screeen.
I hope you have a fabby holiday, I've only got 2 days left (till the end of March) and will probably carry them over so will not have any time off again now till July when it's 2 weeks camping for us (In theory anyway, maybe too fat for that by then!)
Have fun tonight (on both radio and TV) it's good to see that a man can peak twice in the same night :o)
Jo
good luck tonight christophe - will be watching!!
we (my hubby mark) and i are having a party tomorrow for St Paddy's - hurrah - can't wait.
we are making a huge irish stew, some colcannon, some soda bread, for about 40 people. and then we have some guinness (what else?!) and lots of champagne to make some black velvets (yummy!) and a drink i got from the bbc recipe website - guinness with a shot of irish cream in the top - not had it before but of course will give it a go!
lots of diddly music to boot, and everyone wearing green.
should be a good bash methinks - and of course we will be cheering on the irish tomorrow
if anyone has any other ideas for irish party please let me know - thanx
will of course miss you chris - have a great holiday

Love the blog, if possible enjoyed it even more as have been working away in Germany all week. Looking forward to coming home tonight and enjoying Comic Relief, but more importantly making a donation. Hope the night is a great success.
Good Morning CLP in your dark corner (which I'm sure is so not true!!)
At last! It's Comic Relief Day. I nipped to Tesco at 7.20 this morning and there was a little chavvy fella with his mum, he had his regular school uniform on but he was wearing a huffin' great big red nose - cute cute cute!
I've got my RND07 t-shirt on - even tho my boss looked at me like I'd completely lost the plot (regular bloggers will know that this is actually the case!)
Had a terrible day yesterday - couldn't stop crying and looked a right mess by the time I left here. Thank heavens for The Apprentice last night - CLP - you're lookin' good! By bedtime it was tears of laughter and chuckle aches rather than despair!
Busy weekend ahead - hair-do tomorrow, The Goodies at a local theatre tomorrow night, new fridge freezer coming on Sunday - no morel iving out of a coolbox!!
Right, work sadly beckons. Will check back later.
Have a FAB holiday CLP - we'll amuse ourselves in your absence, and who knows - by the time you return, I may have landed myself a new job and got out of this vile, despairing, dark place I seem to be in at the mo.
Lotsa luv

PS: I read the news today oh boy ...
Hi Chris
You will be fine just keep taking those deep breaths.
My daughter had to dress up all in red today for comic relief and every pupil had to donate a pound at her school so lets hope the money keeps rolling in.
Will be listening at 5pm.
Cheers
Good morning one and all
Just had a lovely conversation with a plumbing company. I'm trying to replace a mixer head lever thing and it's all so technical, they have already sent me two tap heads which I never needed in the first.
The man in a van brought packing boxes today and I have to start to dismantle the house.
As explained I have to move to find somewhere big enough for my new Plasma TV.
Looking forward to Comic Relief, Hope you do too Chris.
Hi Chris,
Hope tonight goes really well for you, although I've got a feeling that if it goes too well, we may lose you from Drivetime forever.
Woke feeling happy, but people have been getting me down ever since - my son's teacher is leaving to have a baby and another mum virtually ordered me to do a collection for her, she can't do it cos she works apparently, and then another woman looked hacked off with me off cos I told off a kid for spraying red hairspray at other children, it was her hairspray.
I feel in a really fed up mood, I know it's pathetic, I know today should remind me how crappy other people's lives are, but.......
Cheer me up someone please!
Happy hols Christophe, hope you have a fantastic break,
Em xx
Chris, have a good time tonight both on the tv and radio - I will be routin for you as I think you are just brilliant. I was telling my daughter this morning that i think you will be away from my ears for two weeks! She rolled her eyes (she is 14) and said 'mum, he'll be back' but she dont understand......the radio programme is my idea of fun. Its jsut brilliant, Chris and Sally and co are just so good at what they do and it makes my day! I love them - I was keen on the other shows but wow Chris has done the 大象传媒 proud. he freally is one in a million! I cry sometimes as it is so sweet and i laugh as they really are a mad lot but we just love them! Have a good time - see you soon x
My My Mr E - This is a very unearthly hour for you on a Friday!! - You can tell you have a spring in your step today.
Having a lovely couple of days myself, me and the current Mr SammyM had a very leisurely afternoon yesterday. Charlie was packed off to Grandmas for an adventure, whilst we had a few cheeky G&T's around The Mailbox @ Birmingham, before a heavenly Italian Meal, complete with melting chocolate pudding YUM YUM. Then a quick dash along the Canal to see Ricky Gervais do his thing at the NIA, he really is V funny, good to see someone who completely sends up the whole 'fame' thing despite being at the centre of it!
A relatively quiet day today, 3 hours at Stinky Work then an afternoon at the park I think as its a beautiful day, Charlie (who is 2) is amazed by daffodils, imagine that, not seeing daffodils before, yet another think we take for granted. So yesterday I put him 3 tight daffodil buds in a vase on his window sill in his bedroom, you should have seen his beautiful little face light up this morning when I opended his curtains to see that they had burst open to be 'beautiful yellow trumpets' (In his words!!!)
Leaving him in Daddys capable hands tomorrow though, as am on a girls day out to London to see the Sound of Music, bucks fizz and bacon sandwiches planned for the train, anyone know anywhere lovely for lunch around the Palladium????
Is'nt life Great - Happy Red Nose day Bloggers
Have a great Holiday Chris - you'll be missed!

With Snowdon postponed due to 'gym leg', Mrs MfR and I shall be curled up in front of the TV with a couple of bottles this evening.
So, what are you up to during the next couple of weeks?
You had a list of ideas, I hope that some or all of them happen for you.
Maybe see you at the gym sometime.

Hi Chris
The very best of luck for this evening (not that you'll need it!) and best wishes for an excellent holiday although I'll miss you loads.
Comic Relief does the Apprentice was fab last night so I'm looking forward to tonight's results etc. Have a brillian time and I'll look forward to when you get back after your hols.
Take care, Jonahwood xxx
HOPE ALL GOES WELL FOR YOU TODAY AND TONIGHT CHISTOFF - ALL THE VERY BEST - GO DO IT MAN !
Good luck Chris! I'll be thinking of you tonight but not viewing, malhereusement, as I have been given an early mother's day pressie and I'm going to see The Damned tonight!!! I too will be excited all day, digging out the leather biker jacket and mini skirt, fishnet stockings and stiletto boots. That's what I love about punk rock. A great excuse for men to dress as men and women to dress as.......what men want! It will be a veritable Rocky Horror dressed up sing-along.
It's particularly sweet as I had chosen not to go to this gig even though I LOVE The Damned. I have a holiday coming up and these nights usually cost 拢70-拢80 all told so I reluctantly chose to have a quiet one in with you and comic relief and save some money.
Knowing that I was really wanting to go (as many of my mates are) my dear son has bought a ticket for me for Mother's day and I have a lift there and back so I'll be in my little rock 'n' roll heaven this eve whilst you're doing your hour. I'll think of you though and get some glasses (plastics) raised (and spilt) to you just before nine so I expect that it will all go very well indeed for you.
Have a spledid two weeks roaming our fine land. A nice build up to your birthday. May the wizards bring you all you need.
Lots of love,
Debs xxx
PS Could you please play Love Song by The Damned on your show tonight and dedicate it to your lovely self? I'll try to call in. xx
Hi chris, you are so luckly to have a job you love and the really great thing is you know how lucky you, because alot of people have great jobs and just take it for granted!!
Great show last nite all bout chickys! have a look at www.ascott.biz if you get a chance - great site & do everything you ever could think of for chickens - including a device that will shut your hens up when it gets dark & let them out in the moring - how great it that!!!
Well cant wait for tonite - dash home get a takeaway then telly fest (must rember to have tissues ready as always need them on nite like this - to wipe away tears of laughter & tears of sadness!)
You & yours are doing a great thing - keep it up love Chicky xxx
Morning lovelies!
Christophe, of course we will miss you desperately, but you have a really jolly holiday and come back even chirpier (is that possible???!!)
Keeping on the eggie theme for just one more moment, I texted last night on my way home to say how about playing the Dixie Chicks - and as the text was sending, what came on but ... Dixie Chicks!! How bizarre was that!
Have a wonderful day today, a wonderful night tonight, and a great couple of weeks. I'm off to Liverpool to visit my mum, so will be listening to you on my drive home, chuckling all the way no doubt!!
Love to all on this lovely sunny day - snow boots out for Monday!

Go Chris!
Enjoy the show tonight and not forgetting the two weeks off! Lucky you!
I'll be watching the whole thing later tonight - donations are in already so now I can see the good work come to fruitation for another year!
Just one bit of advice for you - focus on the do's as well as the don'ts!
Do eat enough to keep you charged up.
Do drink enough or you'll wane.
Do the the gym and be glad that you can do it.
Do make the most of others, they will keep you in good form.
Do focus, but also relax
And Do have a good time later! When it shows with you, it can brighten up others and that type of infection is worth speading!
And - before I go and to those who are into it - Happy St Patricks Day to all for tomorrow! If you live in London head to the parade on Sunday, it's a good day out!
And with that - I'm off!
Tickle :)
PS - Thanks to all the tips for the doggys last night! I actually broke even having staked it all on 拢1 or 拢2 goes!!! So that's lunch sorted for today!!

Hi Chris and the Blogettes
"Drip Drip".... you make it sound like a Chinese water torture (smile) ....
We are, what we do. How many times, when out on the pull or some similar social entanglement, has someone asked; so what do you do? On the face of it, a really odd question but look a little deeper and it isn't really that odd, because what they're really asking is, how much of your time am I likely to get? There are in the main two types of people, those who, work to live, and those who, live to work. That is why the question is so important and quite often, one of the first questions other people ask. I don't know that many Radio Presenters/Broadcasters but it's fairly clear to me from the few that I do know, that they are the live to work type. Maybe not, maybe it's the same in all professions, where some just turn up for the cash and switch off when the dinner and home time bell rings, then go off and do whatever is their life. For those of us who are live to work types, it can be quite a strain when working in what is an everyday office job. At the weekend and in the evenings it's all questions. Did that fax I sent really arrive at its destination? What will they think? Do they work weekends? Have they tried to contact me? Will they have replied by the time I get to the office on Monday? What about that meeting at 11:00, what are the other people going to be like? Do I try and impress them with a smart skirt suit or fly casual? What do I really want from the meeting? Should I take them to a pub for lunch or use the staff restaurant? Ok so it's the pub! What if they're not the pub- lunch type? What if they really like the pub and don't want to go back to the office for the rest of the meeting? Imagine I've had the meeting , what are the possible outcomes? (Sorry dear , I didn't hear you .. yes please just one sugar though, thanks)... What if they ask the question? Should I tell them straight or bluff it out? Ok tell them straight but what then, what is follow-up, how do I recover from that? (yep not too long dear , I'm just peeling the spuds) Where was I? Yes, I'm going to nail that contract this time, no more miss nice girl. What if they say no? OMG! Can they do that? Of course they can, it's their money. Be nice. Nice! Are you bonkers? Remember what this lot did last year? Yeah I do. Well? Ok then, so hardball it is. Is that the right thing to do? Just go with the flow. Go with the flow! Never a good plan. Control Control Control! Those are rules, always be in control ....... Ok. Iron fist, velvet glove. Who said that? Napoleon! But he lost just about every battle. Ok, well I'll just let them have it with both barrels, shoot from the hip so it looks like it's off the cuff. Yep! Carefully planned casual-ism. Brilliant! ( Darling .. dinner is ready)
Happy Friday everyone.
Keep smiling
Rachel

Hi all
Long long time since I've posted, but I've been lurking in the background, reading and pondering on other peoples comments. Just never felt that I had anything to add so stayed out of the way.
Anyway felt moved to post today to say that I absolutely love Comic Relief. the build up on TV and radio is great, the evening on the TV is always must see and its all for such a good cause.
I think the thing for me is the way that contributions can be made in such small ways, a pound here and there that doesn't get missed, a nose, a DVD, a text message etc. Yet I doubt whether I would ever have taken a tenner out of my wallet and chucked it in a charity bucket. Also, for the first time this year my kids have come on board as well, all without any parental push - ones doing a sponsored silence, the other is being sponsored to dress up as superman. Neither of them will raise great sums, but both will be contributing their bit. Makes me feel quite proud of them.
Good luck tonight Mr E - have fun, we will be.
Chris
Enjoy yourself tonight and have a great holiday.
You can tell you're in your absolute element on the Drivetime show - it really comes across.
Thanks for the last few weeks - the only downside for me is that has kept me away from gym-ing straight after work - one of my weekend errands is to get a personal radio so I can listen to the show on the treadmill !
Keep it country . . .
Chris
I too have woken up feeling chipper and with a smile on my face. the sun is shining , the weekend is looming and us Brits are going to show what generous and good hearted folk we are by contributing loads to Comic relief.
Viva Brittania and all that stuff!
Good Luck tonight Chris - I`ll see you there :) I`ll be at the Beeb from about 8 I think but am going to be in the 10-1.30 stint (just after you come off air :( ) I am sitting at my desk in my red RND 07 T shirt with black and red pin stripe suit... Not completely professional but hey its mufty day !
Can`t wait for this evening, Apprentice was great last night. I have already seen the Vicar Of Dibley thats going out tonight, loved it, will love it again later. Gotta love Sting !
Good luck this evening Mr. Evans ! Have a fantastic night. You will be marvellous I`m sure x x x
(((Also - I will be E mailing everyone today - first full day back in the office but thank you so much for all your kind words and E mails of support. I am feeling much MUCH better. Still taking meds but not much longer hopefully. You`re all wonderful x x x x )))
Just trying to picture you in a darkened room .... it's not working! Take Enzo for a walk and feed your soul with the sights and sounds of a park or a forest (do they have forests near you?!).
Just remember what a terrific job you do, honey! You have us all checking and rechecking our pooters (Charis's latest Charism) for your words of wisdom, then looking forward to 5pm to Drivetime! And look how chuffed we all are when we know you are going to be on the box! You get us all thinking and talking about things, but we get to have a great laugh too.
And, for me, you have introduced me to a great bunch of folk here on your blog, who have become (it feels) real, supportive, fun pals! And I can't wait to meet up with some of them in April.
A job well done and then some!!
Huggles, Susan, Highland lass
The very best of british to you. It's a glorious day and the start of a fab weekend - Scotland might even beat the French at rugby!
Egscellent show last night,
Good luck with tonight and have a wonderful holiday,

Hi Chris - I've been away so I may have missed something but..... what happened to whistle idol for Comic Relief?
Hi Christoff & Bloggers,
Remember you are the man baby, Sir Tel for children in need and you for comic relief.
A top banana double if ever there was one, I did,nt realise it was bi-annual until you mentioned it last night , must be me age.
Halcyon day for you, soak it all up and enjoy.

Glad you're all revved up for tonight. I probably won't see it 'cos I'm meeting up with friends in Milton Keynes for a 40th birthday, so will be driving through some of it and eating & drinking somewhere during the rest of it, but I wish you and everyone else luck and hope it all goes well.
Have a great two weeks off - don't forget to come back, will you?!
jillygoat xx
Hey chris and bloggers!
What a gorgeous day it is today, am sat in my office with the window open and the sun is streaming in, has really cheered me up was in a verey gloomy mood driving into work today. Decieded that what I needed to do was take a different route into work, came through some of the prettiest little villages on my way into Oxford and passed verges covered in daffodils, sometimes it's the little things that cheer you up!
Spending my lunch time today designing and making a Mother's day card - I just can't seem to find the right one in the shops!
I hope you manage to stay calm Chris, I am flipping useless at it, I just go a bit hyperactive and start to really annoy people, maybe I should try the sitting in a dark room technique. Probably just end up annoying myself though!
Anyway, good luck tonight, I will try and catch it but the pub might be calling!! Happy weekend everyone and happy mother's day to all mummies!

Is it Friday already? Oh how exciting! It
truly crept up on me like a cat.
Red noses tonight for CR...red noses tomorrow for St. Patrick's Day. HaHa!
I still have another week before I get a vacation. I am so looking forward to it! This year will find us, not on the beach, not skiing on a mountain, but at home. I am vacationing at home and I think I am looking forward to it more than any vacation I have taken in quite a while. No travel worries, no travel stress, no travel expenses. BLISS!
Happy holiday Chris! Good luck tonight.

Hello Chris et al
Ahhh, holidays. If only I could enthuse as much as yourself, Chris. With no. 3 on the way it's just not going to happen in the McCrumble household this year. Never mind, I'm sure that the joy of holding another baby in my arms and promising it that 'one day, all this will be yours', is more than enough compensation.
Thanks for the instructions on how to avoid stress/burnout/torpor. They pretty much line up with my own ideas, but for reasons I can never quite fathom, none of them ever seem to come true. This morning, for example I wanted to take it easy on the treadmill, but something I read yesterday told me that if I just pushed the speed up by 10% I would burn an extra 20% in calories. What the article omitted to tell me was that my heart rate would jump 50% in the process, that I would sweat like I was locked in a sauna containing a re-commissioned steel furnace, that I would come to imagine I was having palpitations, experience extreme dehyrdation within fifteen mimnutes of starting, momentarily lose my concentration as the dehydration made me light headed, stop running without pressing the stop button, then crash unceremoniously off the end of the treadmill right under the feet of a 5o+ year old woman of large proportions who narrowly avoided banging her head on the edge of the treadmill as she fell over in shock.
The whole episode put me in a bad mood, so I ate some cake. I experienced a sugar rush which left me feeling lethargic. I am now feeling knackered, lethargic, tetchy and tired. And eating the cake has just obliterated the beneficial effect of running faster.
I give up
J McC
Blimey. I go away for half an hour to get my mum a Mothering Sunday card, and look at all the stuff I can read now while eating my sarnie!
Rachel babe, I think you need to get yourself a jigsaw puzzle, or at least SOMETHING to take your mind off it!
and DEBSTER!!! I saw The Damned last December when they played in Brighton. My good buddy got me the ticket for my birthday, and I had the BESTEST time I'd had for blimmin ages. Give the Captain my love, and a bit of a lust for Mr Vanian...
Now you've got me at it...

...and for those of you who read the first bit of this comment...GO AND BUY THE CARD NOW BEFORE YOU FORGET AGAIN. TAKE A PEN AND YOU CAN SEND IT AS WELL RATHER THAN CATCH THE LAST POST THIS EVENING.
This would be while you are on your way home, singing along to ARF, planning your CR evening, and trying to figure out if you have anything green you can wear to the St Patrick's Day party you have been invited to tomorrow...
Lorna - what time do you want us?
Christope!
Another fabulous show yesterday, I loved all the egg stuff. I was cooking supper for a bunch of girlie chums and it made the time whizz past.
I have been thinking about getting hens for some time now, but it's what to do with them when you go on holiday?
You sound really fired up today. Maybe you should keep a spray of Rescue Remedy at hand, just a couple of quick squirts will sort you out if needbe.
Have a wonderful holiday and come back to us all refreshed and full of more amazing ideas.
Love Pips x
As always with Comic relief I will laugh, cry & blow my nose thru the entire programme. It is so emotional!! Just the music at the beginning of the clips set me off. The year it was launched I knew nothing about it as I was working abroad. Lenny Henry actually passed me at an overseas airport - he is huge!! He was on his CR travels. I arrived back in London during CR week & thought the world had gone mad as everyone was wearing red noses! Can you imagine what the tourists think?! Have a fab time tonight Mr E - & a Happy & hoipoefully record-breaking CR to all!
PS. Apprentice CR was absolutely fantastic - So happy Alastiar & Piers Smug lost. Well done the girls!
Chris
Attention to detail is never trivial !
At 42, I've never been on a motorbike,
not even as a passenger
Now that I think about it, I've been driving
since 1981 (26 years to save anyone counting)
and I've never driven an Automatic car.
Worse, I've never had car Insurance in my
own right - it was my dad's insurance and
then Company. Lordie (other Eurovision winners
are available) help me if I ever not have
a Company car and buy a wee buggie of my own. Dread to think what the first couple of year's insurance would be............
Have a blast tonight. Will make a point of watching your slot. Will be just about the time I get home, getting ready to go out for a couple of Voddies. Then again, I might try to get out early and miss all the traffic. Not planning to though (bunk off early) as it will no doubt not work out.
As a certain Power Company is offering 拢100 for light-bulb jokes broadcast (wonder if it was just Wogan's show or if it goes on all day), here's a few for today's "Friday frivolity"
Q: How many Home Secretaries does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: None - they merely blame someone else for letting it go out
Q: How many pawnbrokers does it take to change a light bulb?
A: None. It's of no interest to them.
Q: How many witches does it take to change a light bulb ?
A: It depends on what you want them to change it into.
Q: How many Scotsmen does it take to change a light bulb ?
A: Two. One to change it and one to put some chips with it.
Q: How many lawyers does it take to change a light bulb?
A': Lawyers don't change bulbs. Now if you're looking for someone
to really screw over a bulb.鈥︹.
Q: How many pessimists does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: None, it's a waste of time because the new bulb probably won't work either.
Q: How many mice does it take to screw in a light bulb ?
A: Only two, but the hard part is getting them into the light bulb.
Q: What is the difference between a pregnant woman and a light bulb?
A: You can unscrew a light bulb.
Q: How many dyslexics does it take to bulb a light change?
A: Eno.
(I suppose I should say 鈥榮yrro鈥 for that one鈥︹︹.)
Q: How many sexists does it take to change a light bulb ?
A: None. Let the bitch cook in the dark.
hi
Looking forward to seeing you this evening.
Mange Tout Mange Tout

I should be in mufti too at work. Everyone else was told yesterday to come in in mufti/dress down day and something red for Comic Relief - I don't work Thursdays. So I didn't know!!
However as pointed out my red hair counts so I still have to make a donation!!
Have a good night tonight - we'll all be watching. Saw you on the apprentice last night. Didn't the girls do well!!!???
Snowy Snowball
Oh it's going to be a looonnnngggggg 2 weeks without you on drivetime Chris. I totally dislike you having time off and will only be ok about it if it's Johnnie Walker sitting in for you! Is it? Is it?
Chris
Have a great night tonight and a fab 2-week holiday. We will miss you......hugely.
I shall 'copy' your pre-show preparation methods to keep me calm for my blind date next week.
You are such a professional Chris, you make it look so easy....so much so that I think people can forget just how good you are.
Gaby

ps please, my virtual comrades, no criticisms of me regarding 'saccharine' comments above. If you had been a fan of Chris' as long as I have and have been inspired by his words as much as I have, you would maybe tend towards such words of thanks yourselves.
pps Tara to win
pps Chris - do you remember that interview you did on your saturday afternoon show with Robbie. You were doing the 'ring a mum' slot. Robbie rang this woman who starting laying into him for leaving a concert or something. Unbelievable. You salvaged the situation for the Robster. Cracking interview.
Well CLP
Am impressed.
really didn't think that with all you had on today, and your crappy record of blogging on a Friday that you would appear at all. I take it all back.
Am working from home today as little Pup has a blockage, and is so sore, she can hardly walk.
Right now, she is enjoying a couple of magazines, 3 pints of diluting juice (no sugar), and Mrs Doubtfire.
She is VERY upset at missing Red Nose day as there were many events on at her school.. and she was all ready to go this moring with Red Nose T-Shirt and Nose, however I could see by the struggle she was having to get down the stair she wasn't going to make it. So back to bed she went.
She can lie there all day in preparation for Comic Relief on TV.. laughing should cure it! I Hope.
I've put a lovely picture of my mate on my web page for Comic Relief. I think she wouldn't have sent it to me if she knew what I would do with it, but there you go. Please click my name and enjoy Kirsty......
Have Lovely COMIC RELIEF DAY. it's the BIG ONe!

ps piece de resistance
pps for old times' sake
Sorry for being so grumpy earlier, just had a lovely text from a lovely friend and that has cheered me up!
Looking forward to snuggling up on the sofa to cheer Tara on, i just hope success tonight will make her realise she IS lovely and people do like her.
Liked your coat/hat combo on TV this morning it was..... interesting! I too made the "is that the girl on the sofa" comment last night while watching The Apprentice, and my husband labelled me a stalker! I'm not, honest.

Sammy M,
Go for lunch at LEON. It's just round the corner from the Palladium at the top of Carnaby Street.
It's an organic food place and does the best meatballs ever.....
Chris - good luck with tonight's extravaganza and with the staying cool. Enjoy your hols and remember to pack some woolies - we're in for an arctic blast apparently. Are you going to let your show-sitter add to the blog? Who is it I wonder, i do hope it's the lovely Stuart McConie or even the anarchic Andy Kershaw. His Desert Island disks this morning were awesome.
Love to all and have a great weekend.
Mange toute xx
Have a wondeful day Chris - hope it all goes well.
Went along to my duaughter's Red Nose Day assembly this morning. The thought and understanding that a class of 6&7 year olds showed for what Red Nose Day is all about and who it helps really made me proud of them and all involved.
Keep up the good work!!!

Are you back from your holidays yet?
Hello - You lucky thing - what a fab job you have! Enojy tonight - sounds like it is going to be a scream ! Enjoy your hols - shall miss you loads and loads !!
Happy Friday to everyone
Ally x
Sounds like you are having one of those glorious weeks where everything comes together Chris - best of luck with it all, sounds like great fun and very worthwhile.
When I am wanting to destress or chill I always find spending time with my cats incredibly soul soothing or curling up with a favourite book and a glass of wine in the bath if all else fails!
Happy Friday everyone, hope you are getting some sunshine and have plenty to look forward to over the weekend.
Em M - know exactly how you feel, am single mum to an 8 year old and I sometimes dread the school - all the other mums terrify me!! Am lucky enough (?!) to work full time so I don't have to venture there very often, but then I never seem to have enough time for my son, so I guess you can't have it both ways but keep smiling :o)
Oh Steevie fae...

oh no,
My first post hasn't appeared. My second post has....but makes no sense ("no change there then", I hear you cry) as the first one didn't arrive. My third post could potentially end up appearing before the second and indeed before the first....who knows.
Ah well, my post was just saying to Chris.... thanks and have a cracker of a night.

I just remembered, when I was at little school The big school up the road had to start making red noses in their CDT room out of ping pong balls as theyre just weren't enough, I think they sprayed them red as well, then, shock horror, they ran out of red paint so half of the town was walking round in yellow noses on the big day. It's not quite like that now is it?
:o) Jo
PS. I think it was probably the 1st ever one
PPS Gaby - hello :o)
Timing is everything.
Hello All!
CLP - go for it BABY!!!
Having a mad day myself - but not in the good way you are. Major weekend this weekend for the project I'm on - am on call, and have teleconferences booked all weekend, to ensure the equilibrium remains...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHH
That's better - deep breath in.... and out.....
ALSO - going out tonight (work permitting) - so will miss you on the TV and have a party to go to tomorrow that starts at 2pm!! (Rugby watching as well!!!) Not sure I'll be coherent in the afternoon!!
Have a FAB one all,
S xx.
WOW CLP, What a day you are going to have can't wait for the radio show, can't wait for the T.V. show tonight the wine is chilling the snacks are in to keep me going the the phone is ready for me to donate. Hoping it is really successful and everyone donates loads i have heard there is a really really sad clip going out a 9pm regarding a little girl in Africa who has a curable disease but doesn't make it because she didn't have the 49p injection to protect her. God it makes our worries so unimportant. Have a great one we will be watching. Jo ps, how about making tonight radio show donate some money to get your record played. xx
Oooh Johnny S about to be on TMS - not sure whether I believed he would be actually working!
Score is rubbish though
:o) Jo
2 weeks off!! Oh drat!
Chris, you sound like your preparing for the first day of BB or TFI. It`s the contrast thing - you havn`t been on tele for a while so you`ll enjoy it more. Wasn`t Dawn French the first guest on TFI? She`s so much funnier than Jennifer Saunders. I tell you what Dawn is one large person that seems happy with her size. If she was a size 0 perhaps she would never get work on TV again!? I was a TV for a day once, until I looked in the mirror and thought, nah, Martin you look ridiculous in a dress!
Anyway Chris, have fun the bright side of the camera. I had two interviews with the 大象传媒 some years ago, to be a cameraman. Did I get in? Nah.
C'est la vie.
Martin
PS Big thank you to any nurses - for doing a great job that is undervalued and not appreciated enough.

I am back, I have returned, DD has re-entered the blogfest!
Cuba has been sorted, now to resolve the habitat of the best blog in the during the two week absence of the Christophel Foffel
Have a good one Oh Blogmeister, I am sure your loyal finger-tappers will continue to blog through you absence, it wont be as good obviously, but we will soldier on!!! (Not too twee I hope)
Anyway, looking forward to a particularly manic ARF tonight and an enjoyable evening on the Beeb!
Had a great time in Cuba, glad to be back particularly now the cats are home from their break, re-stocked the cupboards and the freezer and looking forward to life returning to a semblance of normality!
btw Mrs DD left her job in London just before our hols, as she has been successful in getting another job in MK at the same recompense, so all things woohoo!!!
To the blog crew, catch up with you later!!!
TTFN
DD out
Oh woe is me ...... today is dragging sooooooo much, but I've managed to get shedloads done today ... cleared the decks in case we have SNOW on Monday, then I can "work from home" (that old chestnut!!)
I'm actually missing Steve Wright this week ... Mark's music taste is a bit more to my liking but I like the fun and joviality of Steve and the afternoon team, leading nicely into CLP.
Do we know who's sitting in for The Master for the next couple of weeks? Could we have a spesh guest appearance from johnny walker?!?
TPT to win Fame Academy! Go Girl!!!
Piers to get FIRED from the Apprentice (although his memoirs book was really entertaining)
Have a good weekend everyone - we'll get thru the next 2 weeks without Blog Master!
Good luck on CR tonight Mr E - you'll be just grand!

two week holiday?! how will me and fellow listeners suvive without our daily dose of you?! tut tut! but all the same...enjoy the break and relax!
and may i say who will be sitting in for you?! hmm going to miss the chris evans show jingle!
anyway...bye for now!
I watched the comic relief apprentice last night and noticed you on it Chris! It is like catching a climpse of an old friend now, which is odd as you have no clue what we look like in the slightest! Maybe we should do a photo gallery so if you bump into us you can say hi!!!
I love days like you are having when you are so desperate to get it right as you dont just want it to slip away!
Today is a rather sad day for me a guy i have been having a fling with leaves today. we always new it was coming to an end, its kind of what made it special in the first place, and what will probably always make it a special memory.
Still mothers day on sunday so i will take my mum and my wee chap to york for a meal! And white stripes has come on the radio so not all bad hey!
em26x
Stuart Maconie will be filling in for Chris while he is away x x
I have to say young Chris, that for a while (tfi) and after i had little regard for you. When I heard you were taking over from Johnny..well.. I went to radio 4.
I have to tell you NOW, I look forward to your broadcast AND think your even better than Wogan. Now that`s not a call for you to get all big headed again. You`re a great bloke, now. KEEP IT UP. and well done. Love the food stuff and funnies.
GOOD LUCK tonight Chris, be great to have you hack on TV. Have a FAB and well deserved break. We will miss you loads, and look forward to your return. But it is well deserved for all the job you bring to our drivetime of the day. Love Flo x

Would it be too late for a good plate of Mash after comic relief tonight.
I tried it with Creme Freche I wasn't keen.
Well done to you! AVVVV ITTTTT.
Well done and BIG Congrats to Rebbecca and her other half on the big arrival. . . BP

There's only one way I could be happier now and that would be if Flutterby Man knocked on my door right now, although as he's just called me from Georgia, I don't think that will happen!!! I can dream.... :-))))))
Top Celeb ARF tonight - love it!!!
Whatever, wherever, be safe and be happy!

A very good evening
I am so looking forward to Comic Relief.
So many talented people out there.
I most enjoyed Mark Ratcliffe sitting in for Mr Wright by the way. It would be very nice to hear him on a regular basis, ideally between 0930 till 12.00.
Do have an enjoyable holiday Mr Chris and please pop in for tea and biscuits if you are down this way in Bangor North Wales.
MASSIVE BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO FOXY.
Heard all the Ruby, Scarlett etc...
How about just RED.

Hey Christoff,
Mange tout right back at ya,
Great drive time show today and congratulations to the Fox. A baby fox eh? What's that a cub? As it's red nose day, do you think Foxy might call her Rosie? Red nose and all?
It's great seeing you on the tv again. Wish you were back on our box for good.
Lots of Love

Hi Chris, top job on comic relief, Chris I am trying everyway possible to contact you to join our campaign to make our song "We Are Alive" the soundtrack of the summer, I know if you listen to it there's a good chance that you'll be on board, www.myspace.com/myoutercircle thankyou Spencer brown
Hi Chris,
it's always great to see everyone rally round and pull out all the stops to raise money for such needy causes. but I get so angry when i see the government prepared to spend BILLIONS on something like the Olympic games. Listening to the presenters this evening telling us how a few pence can save a life, how can we justify so much money spent on a leaping, running, hopping, swimming etc? can we not get our priorities right?????????????????
pete
hi chris
have a great time on your hols mate, watchin you on telly as i write and you're a class act..well done
Great Show!
Big Congrat's to Foxy !!!!
Comic Releif...the best hour!!!
Is it me?
I just don't get Ricky Gervais?
I was embarassed at his last Comic Relief Effort, and I was embarassed at this one?
I just don't get it. Can someone explain his style.... is it ironic? sarcastic?
Eh?
DWNB
I very much enjoyed the telling picture box last night. I thought Mr Chris looked real and magic.
DWNB
I suppose humour is a matter of taste. However RG 'S humour is very clever. I'ts about being totally un pc. However sometimes humour appeals to people from different area's backgrounds etc.
I enjoy The Royale Family for example but I am a Northerner and some Southerners just don't get it.
CHRIS I AGREE WITH YOU ABOUT THE PLANET, HOW DARE WE BE SO PRESUMPTIOUS TO IMAGINE WE HAVE ANY CONTROL OVER ITS FUTURE (IF ANY) MAN IMAGINES HIMSELF SO POWERFUL AND YET REALLY HE KNOWS SO LITTLE AND HAS EVEN LESS CONTROL.
WHEN I WATCH A PROGRAMME LIKE RED NOSE DAY I WONDER WHY WE ALLOW THE SUFFERING THAT IS IN THE WORLD WHEN ALL POVERTY COULD BE ELIMINATED WITH COMMITTMENT AND MORE EQUAL SHARING OF RESOURCES AND MONEY. WE LIVE IN AN ERA OF WEALTH AND EXCESSES AND STILL PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD STARVE AND DIE OF DISEASE EASILY ERADICATED WITH FUNDING, IN SOME CASES QUITE SMALL AMOUNTS FOR PREVENTATIVE WORK TO BE CARRIED OUT. I SOMETIMES DESPAIR OF MANKIND, WILL HE EVER CHANGE ?????????????????????????
THIS I DOUBT.!!!
I thought CLP did very well last night, wish that he had of been on for longer though. The emergency TV diet obviously worked and the haircut looked pretty good too!
Here's to more CLP on the telly and soon!
Deb x
Absolutely love listening, I used to hate driving home now I love it and the journey is much better for listening to you, (sometimes I find myself sitting on the drive when I get home coz i don't want to miss a but), then i race in and switch on, then i go feed my ponies with the car window open and the radio on loud, even the ponies enjoy listening!!
Say Hi to Sal,
loved all the eggy stuff the other day!! got to survive 2 weeks without you now!!
lots of love Julie xx
Well done Chris and Dave on Red Nose Friday. Davina's hair was more of a worry to me than Chris's!
I have to say my biggest laugh of the night was Catherine Tate's (Lauren) interview with Tony Blair. I am NOT a Blair fan, but the man has a sense of humour.
Sammie #97 - congratulations on your new job!!! Flutterby Man must be over the moon for you.
Many congratulations to Rebecca & family; I hope my pregnant daughter doesn't work until a week before grandchild no 3 is due! This Granny will be a nervous wreck!
I don't know if this is the right place to relay this bit. My sisters and I have been to the 80th birthday celebration of our late Mum's cousin (? 1st cousin once removed OR 2nd cousin?) Anyway, what an enlightening interlude; friendships formed more than 60 years ago were much in evidence, both physical and verbal. It made me think... if I live that long, who will be at my 80th birthday?
Red Nose Day emphasised the peril of impoverished families that don't know if they - or the children of their loved ones - will be able to survive, nevermind reaching the age of 80. What a humbling thought! Our birthday present to our 80-year-old relative was a donation to Red Nose Day.
Best wishes to Chris and fellow contributers (addicts).
Granny B
That little plan for how to conduct your day was quite electric Chris. I wonder how long it took you to come up with that? I watched comic relief in phases cos I was working and had to video it in bits. Quite an effort, I think the Top Gear boys would have benefitted from Mr E as a host. JC is almost the opposite personalty type and it would have added a dimension to have a positive force on the team for a change. I think I will check back and see the Blog over the next 2 weeks cos its obviously going to continue.
Just watching the Australian Gand Prix live. What a contrast with Comic relief. From abject poverty and human tragedy and dispair to the highest achievements of technology for no good reason other a game. Its easy to understand how some people find the technological world abhorrant in the face of human suffering. Then again how many of the greatest achievers sacrificed their lives for human endeavour and where would we be if the entire planet had 3rd world technology?
Also fascinating that the best driver is no longer there. The Ferrari is walking away from the rest of the field and perhaps this is his legacy. For all those who doubted Michael Schuemaker I am sure we will never see his like again. well not in my lifetime anyway.
Hello CLP
Great job on Friday :0) TV diet did the trick but why did you keep snuggling into your jacket? It did not give us the oppertunity to properly check out what 4 hrs a day in the gym had done ;0)
Have a great holiday and a lovely birthday!
R xXx
Dear Chris,
Please be my friend. I'll post to your bog every day like this other shower of virtual stalkers, pretending I actually know you and living my tedious little life vicariously through your crazy japes.
Please say I'm your special #1 fan.
Please.
Please?

I like your jokes, keep them comming. Their used to be a blogger on here called Danny Dayglow who did jokes, but your much funnier than he was. Plus I think he must have run out of jokes!
Martin
How long has Comic Relief been going for now?
Does it actually make any difference at all or does it fuel poverty and deprivation because the recipients (countries) know that charities such as these will continuously bail them out from one crisis to another?
If you ban flying aid out to the far reaches of the earth then maybe we can go some way towards combating the ever increasing carbon emissions.
Or... maybe I am just a scrooge??
What a great show comedy relief was.
However, I have to say Why! From being a young child myself, we seem to have been giving to Africa. Surely by now we have donated enough to buy the country.
It seems from one year to the next it's flood famine and now HIV. I am very sorry to suggest this but are those people in Africa very good at begging. Always seeming to use children to pull at the heart strings. What exactley do these poeple contibute to society?
Would I give to Africa ?The answer would be no .. far more needed to be done in our own country.
Africa? Country? Er...
NO! I havn`t run out of jokes. I`ve not blogged recently because my hemorrhoids have been playing up!
Anyway I bet Steevie fae Dundee + Glas, wears one of those devilish things called a Man`s Skirt - the big jessie. My jokes will be far better than his - once I`ve sorted this sitting down thing out!
Danny
Monge two, monge two one and all.
Ivor Boil here.
I wached the Australian Grand Prix with the misses this afternoon. What a complete bore. The best bits were seeing the lovely Kyly and Dannii Minogue and watching Bernie Ecclestone send Martin Brundle on a wild Goose chase to interview some president of some country!! Basically the race was mostly a spectacle of all drivers on automatic, following the car in front.
#119 Danny. Have you tried two piles of books to sit on? It helped my friend.
Ivor Boil signing out
:) I loved your hour on cr it was really nice to watch and seeing you sat at that desk brough back a whirlwind of memorys i sat proudly watching on my tfi sofa (witch ive had cleaned and looks amazing) drinking beer and thinking wow i even have the signed letter from yourself framed in the hall giggle how sads that.
Enjoy your holiday mate you deserve it and congrats on a cracking hour of cr.
Mr Infinete muppet
Now don't you be a calling the Irish thick. Terry Wogan might have annouced the wrong winner of the Eurovision Song contest on live TV. However I am fully aware that Africa is a continent.
I bid you good day.
Monday morning is here again.
Did enjoy the bits I saw on Friday in between putting the world to rights with my mate and sending rude text messages back to the boy who was working away and jealous because I was tucked up warm in our house with wine...
Anyhoo, dear Prof Plum...I'm half-Northern, and I don't get Ricky Gervais a bit when he is doing stuff 'for camera', however, I do enjoy his stand-up...must be half 'n half eh...?
DD - So glad you and Mrs Dissing are doing well. Did you get us all a present?
WILSMAR! Always nice to have you around xxx
See you all later then I guess...
Did it snow on you too?

Sammie - well done on getting the job! Flutterby Man will be back soon to give you a HUGE HUG of congrats!
What's your secret to success?!?! I've had 3 interviews now and had really positive feedback on all of them ... the downside seems to be that I'm prepared to drop my salary level for peace of mind and job satisfaction, but no prospective employer seems to believe me!
If I don't get out of portacabin hell soon I swear I'll go insane (again). Spent most of yesterday in floods of tears at the mere throught of Monday approaching. Maybe it's the thought of no CLP for 2 weeks?
Comic Relief - excellent! I've still got about 4 hours to watch on tape as we went to bed at 11ish. I agree that the Ricky Gervais 'sketch' was most bizarre - not sure what he was trying to prove with that one. Loved David Tenant teaching English tho - I'd go back to school for that tomororow!
Well, best post this and get on. Laters amigos!

Hello all
As one who regularly spends time in rural Africa, I see at close quarters how poverty impacts on every single aspect of life. Despite my awarenes and proximity to the problem, I don't spend spend each and every waking hour expressing concern for the millions of people in need of improved standards of living. I don't expect anyone else to do this either. But I do think we can, and should, pull together when there is a bugle call such as that given by Comic Relief.
Any criticism of the methods used by CR and other organisations needs to be constructive. Some people might feel uncomfortable with using emotive images and issues to prompt people into action. Fair enough, I say, so long as there is a viable alternative with similar impact.
Anyone who thinks that we should not give help to Africa is unlikely to have had any connection with its people or places. There is no country on this earth that doesn't have internal issues which require charitable efforts, and it is entirely right that we should keep an eye on problems close to home. But there is nothing stopping us from first acknowledging that we are simply fortunate to be born and raised in a temperate and economically advantaged land, then using some of our fortune to help those less fortunate, irrespective of where they happen to live.
regards
J McC
Good morning Christoff (cos I鈥檓 sure you must have a wee sneak at some point!) bloggers and blogettes!
How are we all this Manic Monday? We had a lovely weekend! But I won鈥檛 bore you with the ceilidh on Saturday, the day in town on Saturday, the fabulous meal at the opening night of a new restaurant in Inverness on Saturday night, the breakfast in bed on Sunday, the family lunch, etc!
I jus read your comment, Neilson, and I really do agree with you.
It鈥檚 utterly criminal that we live in an age where there is more than enough food, technology and wealth in the world to totally eradicate poverty, disease, famine and drought. I believe that we will all be held to account for the way we treat our fellow human being, whether that be our neighbour or someone on need across the oceans. And I also believe that we will be held to account for how we treat the world that we live in.
Hubby and I volunteer for a charity that works towards eradicating disease and poverty by enabling individuals, families and communities to work for a fair pay, and by enhancing things like living conditions, water supply, education and healthcare. It can be done! Yet, do our government really care that they have it in their power to make a difference in our country as well as throughout the world? No, they just like having a slanging match each week and trying to get one up on the other guy!
It is so easy to just throw up our hands in despair and say, well, what difference can I make? But each and every one of us can. And not just on Comic Relief. By giving just a small amount each month to a charity 鈥 by being ethical in our shopping, buying Fair Trade or locally sourced produce, clothes, etc. And by lobbying our MP and Government. Yeah, I know, it takes effort and time 鈥 but your effort and time could very well save the life of another adult or child in another part of the world. So does that not make it worth it.
And it鈥檚 so patronising to think that people in these countries want hand outs from us day in day out. They are in such debt to other countries, mostly due to corrupt regimes, that for every pound earned in the country something like another 拢3 is owed to the world bank. Just because these people live in poverty does not mean that they do not have the same hopes, dreams, aspirations and ambitions as ourselves. What do these people contribute to society? Give them the chance and they could be the scientist who finds the cure for cancer, or the next world class surgeon in their field, or a politician who really does make a difference to the world, or the doctor who finds a cure for HIV (which, by the way, sees between 5 and 6000 newly diagnosed individuals in the UK each year!).
Right 鈥. stepping off soap box!
I was so upset to miss CLP on CR 鈥. but thanks to Chrissie S, I鈥檒l see it on video!!!! YAY!
Have a great day, y鈥檃ll. Going to bath my paint splattered child instead of rising to the bate infinite Muppet. Why 鈥 cos I have a life and a family! And it鈥檚 snowing!
Huggles, Susan
PS Ruby, Ruby, where you been so long
Chris,
can I suggest thet you (or one of your little helpers) takes a look at the BLOG(s) on our website at www.gaw-associates.com
I know it's a bit grumpy at times but some have found the info useful (and a little wider internationally than the Beeb puts out in the morning.)
Oh Hello
I havn`t called myself a virgin for many a year; but I am today, todays virgin blogger.
We hello. My daughter is into all this stuff: blogging, emailing and all that. But being a retired fellow I`m more used to the Telegraph and a good single malt.
But my daughter told me the other day not be such a stuffy old stick in the bog, and to try blogging for a change and she has pointed me to this blog. So who is this fellow Chris Evans? Can`t say I`ve ever heard of him. Don`t watch a lot of television and only radio four. More often out on a grouse shoot.
Granny Bev and Cheryl - thanks for the congrats!!! Manic Monday is here again and I can't wait to start my new job! Still waiting for a release date to be confirmed though!
Cheryl, Honey - the reason you didn't get those three jobs is because they weren't right for you. Have faith in the wizards, they know what they're doing! You'll be all sorted when the time is right and in the meantime, take a deep breath and smile!!!
Where is the stand in Blogger???
HL/Susan S, etc. Can't get over to the 'other side' until later - are you all having fun??? :-(
Happy Monday,
S xx.
Afternoon one and all.
I'm sorry but I do have to agree with St Patrick on African aid. Why do they have so many children when they can't afford it? Why have so many got aids?
I tend to think it has become a way of life for them.
Meanwhile here the NHS is falling apart. People in need of drugs to cure illness or prolong life.
Mentally ill people trying to live in the community with little or no help.
Tell me if I am wrong, but since Noah built his Ark we have had Oxfam envelopes dropped through the door with a starving African child dipicted.
two weeks!!!!!!!!!!! oh hell, that's not going to help MY diet between 5 and 7. :-(
Oh no! 2 more weeks of stuart macaronie. Why do you keep doing this to us Chris, please don't have so many holidays - and if you must have them leave us in the hands of someone tht likes a bit of fun instead of the "Dull as Ditchwater Macaronie" Even Wogan would be better than this.
Would Johnnie Walker not come back for 2 weeks - you're 2 of the best presenters on Radio 2.
Having read all the comments about why charity is good, bad and ugly. I have to say that as good and worthy a cause as Comic Relief is, charities that play on peoples consciences have spawned into mini industries and I am far from convinced that the administrators of these so called 鈥渃harities鈥 aren鈥檛 making one hell of a living out of it all.
Every turn you make in life someone is there holding their hand out, if it was just Comic Relief then I don鈥檛 suppose it would be too bad, when there are anywhere up to 10 worthwhile causes pestering for donations each and every day then unfortunately you just have to say 鈥渘o鈥.
Now you could, if you had the inclination, donate to the one you feel most passionate about or the one closest to you, but with new charities springing up each day in record numbers, how can you ever be sure which one to pledge allegiance to?鈥︹
P.S. Can鈥檛 believe Chris is off for a fortnight! I have a four hour drive on Friday and was looking forwards to listening to him! Maybe I am a charity case - someone in desperate need of a decent DJ to listen to, all donations gratefully received.
Oh dear the arrow/feather person has got above himself again. So the best of Englands national game has fallen off a plastic boat designed for girls to get a suntan on. Now he has been sacked. I seem to remember when a lot of silly old men sacked the England Rugby captain and the team said no, which was was followed by the entire commitee of silly old men being utterly humiliated. Perhaps its time for another Kerry Packer cricket circus. The poor man has been made to do humble interviews. Well, purchased humility is never very convincing. Lord Botham has given his verdict and it was to roundly condemn the Fletcher as over the top. I am a member of LCCC and rather like Andy Flintoff I met him and he seems like a nice bloke. The human race needs more like him and fewer retention professionals.
Oh yeah and that Sally Boseman is the catalyst, its not Chris, she is not the massihia she is a very naughty girl

Infinitemuppets - how appropriately named!
Actually I thought Infinite monkey had it just about spot on!!!
Brrr! It's cold out!
Hope all had a good weekend, technically it's a Monday for me as it was a bank holiday in Ireland yesterday! Hurrah! (No, I'm not expecting any sympathy from everyone else!)
So now that I'm settling back into the weekly routine - how am I going to cope with the 5-7pm slot?! So time to download the podcasts and hope there's enough there to get me through a day or two! Then I'll be onto listen again - to listen again...
All I need to remember is to leave work on time...
Tickle - rambling on about nothing today.
Tickle................ put it away, there's a Policeman coming!
(a la Eric Morecambe circa 1970)
PS It's blooming cold inside (here) too!
Me wrapping up, literally and figuratively.
Wilsmar
Tickle in Cork #136 - hope you enjoyed your festivities! I always say I will "do something" on St Patrick's Day, but never do. Hope your hangover was worth it!
I always find that when CLP is away, it's a good time to catch up on my CD's (sorry Stuart Mac!).
I can thoroughly recommend the new Take That CD - honestly, even my husband has come round to it!
O.K., I can see I have destroyed any hope of us being friends!
Take care everyone.

There is a phrase on other forums or is it fora?
Don't feed the Troll
JK Nonegreen
Quiet here, i'n't it?
Quiet here, i'n't it?
I can't believe everyone is being so mean to poor little Stu - he's doing his best and at least he's not that fat guywho does the breakfast show. Stu does play some very good music too. As for CR and other charities, i think people should perhaps look a little more closely to what is being done here. Sure there are lots of worthy causes and many of them here in the UK. However, they are not dying from lack of clean drinking water, or the basic necessities of life. What a lot of charities are doing now is creating the opportunity for people to lift themselves out of poverty by economic means. Creating jobs and an income for people is a sustainable way of improving lives. Many charities do not just hand out money, or food but work with local communities to improve local facilities. Since the cancellation of the debt in July 05 as a result of the G8 summit, primary schooling in Tanzania is now free. As a result of this they now have the problem of overcrowding in schools with up to 120 pupils in a class - so the problems are on-going. I too get a little tired of seeing celebs, weeping as they walk back to their air conditioned Winnebago, but that doesn't reduce the need for the cause in itself. OK rant over. Happy Vernal Equinox one and all. xx
Wednesday already! Hurray! Just Thursday and Friday to go! (In case you hadn't figured out that sequence!)
Woke up this morning as you do and I don't think I've recovered from it yet! I'm always amazed how one day you just don't sleep and others you do - and my latest trick, not being able to wake up on weekdays and being wide awake at 6am at weekend - I mean what is going on there?
See ya later,
Tickle
Wilsmar - I'll share with you my own favourite Morecambe moment - ambulance screams past the bedroom window, sirens going. Eric: "He won't sell many ice-creams going at that speed". Excellent
Chrissy - No worries, you can consider yourself a pal of Tickles! Its a cult! Take That has been growing on me since the cd arrived in Mrs Tickles hands last week!
Hi bloggers and shloggers, and of course the lovely CLP if you're checking these occasionally.
Loved the Red Nose show - Catherine Tate is amazingly amazing, and our Christoffe was fantastic!
Congrats on the job Sammie - if it's meant to be, it's meant to be, so well done you.
Having a very rare day off today, and enjoyed a snuggly lie in till 10.30 - heaven!
Hope you're all having a great week, even if we haven't got Chris to get us through the drive home.
Come back soon - we miss you!
Catbird xxx
Hello!
Hey, Lay off Stu you meanies ;0) He's doing his best bless him and no, he is no CLP, but I have to say that over the past year I have slowly come round to his style (although have to say have not been turning on the Radio as soon as I get in the door this last week!)
Have been reading the comments about CR and have to admit to laughing out loud at some of the more blunt ones. I have to agree with some of the comments about the weeping power etc, what's that phrase they used to use when kids were nagging their parents into buying things for them? Anyway... I hate being emotionally black mailed into things so I have my own way of dealing with the situation whilst giving to the general cause without feeling pushed into it.
However............ having said that.... lets not forget that CR is also a UK "giving" charity and it is not all going to Africa. I like to almost think of it as if my money is going to one of the causes I directly support, such as the safety phones for abused woman. That way I don't get to hung up on what is going where.
At least with CR all money raised goes direct to the source and none of it is spent on Admin etc like Scope. I think it was Scope a few years ago that revealed that 30% - 40% of the money they raise goes on running costs of the charity.
Anyway, just thought I would offer my thoughts :0)
Hope your all having a lovely day, the sun is out on the South Coast and I am enjoying some rather beautiful Spring weather!
xXx
Great tips Chris
Take care!
Alex
Dear JK Nonegreen
What does "don't feed the troll" actually mean?

Thanx so much in advance. TV aint the same wivout ya m8.... Dave
Dear j-not-j
"Don't feed the troll" means that when someone comes here specifically to raise blood pressure, be confrontational, or generaly be mean to the population by picking on any one of us or anything we may have said the best policy is to ignore them.
JK Nonegreen
Hello
Has anyone followed the link from Dave149. The Outer Circle.
I thought the music samples were very good, especially "Feel no Pain".
Chrissie/Tickle - the new Take That CD is sublime, but then I would say that, as a devoted (but not to the point of stalking!) Thatter!!
I lived with my parents briefly at the end of last year and the Take That concert was shown on TV. I made my dad watch it with me and he's a convert now too!!! Also, when TT tickets went on sale for this years concerts, my brother in law asked if he could come with me - much to my sisters disgust!!
Ou est que CLP??? OR a Guest blogger? Tis too quiet here - haven't felt motivated to blog for ages.
Catbird - thanks for the congrats - I've just heard I finish my current role next Friday. I've got a weeks holiday and then I start the new one on 10th April. It will be the first time for a couple of years that I haven't had work to worry about while I'm off - really looking forward to it!!
Right - best get on with some work (just finishing off now), will dip in later.
S xx.
Ou est le Moose, did the OAMC happen on Tuesday?
Hazel, Just looked at your website, good pomes! loved the Nessie one! Free the Nessie one
it's a touch Bjork on here at the mo. I blame the Maconie man
Hi all,
Well, it does feel strange on here at the mo don't it. It's reminding me of one of those old one horse western towns with tumbleweed etc.
WHERE IS BEVRYODDY?? HELLOOOO!!
It's a bit different than the last time Chris went away and left us to play with his blog. I can't quite remember but did we all get a very gentle telling off then. Oh well, just thought I'd nip in and say hiya.
take care
Nicki
Hi DD #153 and Nicki #154:
The reason a lot of people are taking a break from CE's blog is because the last time he was away, we all stayed in touch, supported each other and then some utter eejits came on and started saying we were too sugary and sickly. DD - Mr Maconie is a fine man and it's nothing to do with him. Listened to him last night and I take it all back!
So, we are off. Be back when Chris gets back.
Take care you guys.
C xx
Brrrr! It's a bit nippy out there. Just got home to my lovely warm flat, and thought I'd see whose about. Where is everyone? Christoffe might be having a bit of R & R but that doesn't mean everybody else has to disappear!
What's your website all about Hazel? I'm just being nosey, coz I love poems, and it sounds like you have some, so can I have a look too please?
Think I'll crawl away with a book - been a long day!
Goodnight fellow bloggers,

cummon - the music was just fine tonight - wonderful even. Stu you are a lovely man - well of course you are you are from Lancashire! Let the music just tell the tale!

Morning schmorning!
And wow - just like that we're at Friday again! Where did that week just go? In fact - where did winter go - spring is in the air, the clocks are changing this weekend and we'll all be out and about doing extra things as of next week.
So no more excuses from me - the garden must be dealt with!
Have a good weekend everyone -
Tickle
Oh dear Chrissy S
I'm afriad I might indeed one of the guilty. I do have rather a sarcastic sense of humour.
I will leave you with this little phrase.
THE REAL ART OF CONVERSATION
IS NOT ONLY TO SAY THE RIGHT THING IN THE RIGHT PLACE,BUT, FAR MORE DIFFICULT STILL TO LEAVE UNSAID THE WRONG THING AT THE TEMPTING MOMENT.
A GOOD WEEKEND TO ONE AND ALL.
Hi all,
Hope you're all feeling that wonderful Friday thing. I know I am 'cos I've got a couple of days off next week, to hopefully celebrate my birthday and a haircut.
I will have already had the bestest birthday gift ever.....the clocks going forward, every year I look on spring as my own special birthday pressie.
Have a fab week-end one and all, meet you back here next week sometime, you'll know it's me by the red carnation!
take care
Nicki
ps It's Friday and I'm still in love!!!
Prof Plum - I'm sure noone would think that of any of your comments, so it certainly wasn't you honey!
CLP - WE MISS YOU! But hope you are having a fabulous break!
Have a great weekend.
Huggles, Susan, Highland lass
hi everyone whoever you are. i've not had time to contribute for a while - but have had the odd look at the ramblings to keep an eye on things...
i agree with dissing dave - where is the Moose with a report on the OAMC. (surely its finished by now)
more to the point where is the BigUn ? i miss keith as much as CLP himself. i do hope that all is well health and happiness wise ...and that he comes back soon.
i too have looked at Hazels site and i have to say its Great with a big G - how do you find the time ! thanks anyway - it made me smile and i could do with some of those at the mo.
have fun all - its a weekend soon.
treacle pud and custard
artichokes and chips.
Yay lets all celebrate Nicki's haircut!!!
ChrissieS, I'm sorry I just don't have the capacity to appreciate the "talents" of Stuart Maconie. I have tried honestly! I remember back in the (coughs loudly) days at R1 listening to him in the car but I didn't get him then and still don't now! It takes all sorts!
DD out
Well now DD, if you had a barnet like mine you would realise the cutting of it is something to celebrate, I am gifted with a huge shaggy mop (circa 1970's long perms, or was it a birds nest) and am never sure if its the hairdressers or the council hedge cutters I require. My salary is such that it is only ever an annual thing, so, wish me luck.
Nicki, over (not quite) and out
Happy Friday all!
Firstly thank you Mr Dissing and mulbartonboy for your comments. You are always welcome! I hope I find you well...and catbird - only too delighted my dear, but don't forget your sunscreen if you're coming Mon, Tue or Wed. Looking at highs of 17 degrees celsius and SUNNY! Hooray!
Now then. 'Don't feed the troll'. Could this possibly mean something like 'don't give the nasty people any fuel'?...ie, don't rise to the bait....please see ChrissieS #155
That's what it sounds like to me anyway.
Prof Plum - love the saying. I'm gonna keep that. Are you still moving house?
Nicki, have a lovely birthday, Tickle, GET THAT GARDEN SORTED!!!, Sammie, have a wonderful reunion...aaaah...am reserving hat as we speak!
Everyone else, I hope you all have lovely weekends. Only one more week to go after all...

Thank you Susan S for your kind words.
I will leave you with a little story that evolved over last weekend.
I was sat upon my sofa watching Comic Relief last Friday. Drooling over Chris Evans and cutting my toe nails,as you do being a celebrity stalker.
The show ended and I made my way to the kitchen for a late night cuppa. All of a sudden the lights went as bright as Blackpool illuminations, then dimming and going bright again. I thought it may be a job for Derek Acorah at the time.
Anyway I went to bed , but next day the Microwave would not work so I decided to phone the Electric Board to see it if was anything to do with my supply rather than spooks.
Well, it turned out that there had been a road traffic accident involving a car which severed an electric cable, which caused a power surge to my home. They were quick to offer a repair which would be charged to the drivers insurance.
Yesterday they picked it up. It was duly returned today as fully repaired. Wonderful .. until the guy plugged it in and it blew up!
So my Microwave is a total right off....
Hiya Chris
Hope you had a great holiday. Missing you on air, good but not the same. You are the best.
Be keen to hear all about the great time you had away. Mange tout!
Lots of love x x
Happy birthday Nicki - have a good one! I love birthdays - they're the one special day of the year that's all yours, so enjoy!
Hazel, I still don't know how to get onto your website - as for sunscreen and sunny - the hotter the better in my book. Spent 6 years in Australia and 5 in South Africa, and you can never have enough of the hot stuff.
Have a super duper weekend to all - I'm going to dinner with some lovely friends on Saturday night and hopefully won't forget to put the clocks forward.
Night all,
Catbird xxx
Catbird,
To get on the websites of others on here you need to check if their name is underlined where it states time and date comment left. Just click on the name and it'll take you to the appropriate (or inappropriate!) site. Leave a comment on the sites visited if you should feel you want to, it is appreciated.
Oh, but a word of warning - indulging in these external visits often leads to getting nothing else done for the rest of the day.
Hope that helps,
have fun,
MW, a!
For those of you who would like a repeat of the thresher madness - here is the coupon
Note - sneaky plug for Stormheok this time. He is a bad boy.

Thanks Mariella - I'll have a go when I have a few mins to spare. I really should have been able to work that one out for myself, but thank you!
Dashing about like a mad thing today, so bye for now. Hope everyone's well,

Just got in, had an excellent night. I have been listening to radio 4 all day. It was very good, lots of thought provoking stuff. It occured to me that since there is meant to be a sense of European unity that abounds in at least 26 of the 27 countries. Us Brits of course, labelled as wanting to be considered separate from the rest of mainland Europe. Why is it that as part of celebrating 50 years since the treaty of Rome the collective appear to have put no pressure on the government of Iran to return our Marines? Ignoring the military issues, surely if the people, the politicians and the administration of the closely linked 27 nations are truly destined to be constitutionally bound. Then, particularly during such an important celebration we ought to have heard that at least some of them stood shoulder to shoulder with this damp little island.
Perhaps they don't care, parhaps they see creating a new draft constitution by the end of the German presidency will deliver coherance, despite the French and Dutch returning Non, No Nine, at the referenda. Surely someone has missed a trick here. The establishment of a EU-wide cuddle would surely have done more to win the hearts of minds of skeptics, than new draft of an old idea which begs the question which bit of No did they fail to comprehend. Off to bed now.

Monge two, monge two to one and all
Ivor Boil here.
Brought Casina Royal on DVD and watched it for the first time with the wife. It has a 12 certificate. Well I wouldn`t have let a 12 year old watch the graphic scenes of torture - it was totaly unessasary. Plus a bit too much card playing for my likeing. And I lost count of the number of oh too obvoius product placements. At times it felt like I was watching a glorified advert for all these products! What happened to films with NO product placement? It`s not as if Sony need the extra money they get from product placement! Now don`t get me wrong, it was a worthy Bond movie and had some very good bits. The new Bond was a champion casting, as was his female sidekick. But, I still think the first Bond film I sore when I was 12, You Only Live Twice, was my best.
Anyway all for now.
Ivor Boil signing out.
Good morning everyone wherever you are! I hope your sun is shining as bright as mine is today.
Guess what ....
Go on, have a guess ......
I GOT A NEW JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hurrah!! After weeks of despair and portacabin depression, I had the most sublime interview on Friday and then they rang me yesterday (yes - a SUNDAY!) with an offer, which I've accepted. The Diva PA is back in business!!!
Down side: gotta do the notice thing deed today which I'm dreading with a capital D ! Wish me luck amigos!
Comic Relief: finally got round to watching the very end (after Russells bit) and there was our very own CLP playing footie with Gazza, Will, Danny Baker et al completely in the buff - I'd forgotten how funny that was - classic comedy moment, and the sheer look of enjoyment on all their little faces was clear to see. Bless!
Will check back later if time permits - doing a school assembly this pm - but not for much longer!!!!
Over and out
CtD x x
PS: Whatever happened to Will, Johnny Boy Revell and Holly Hotlips? did I miss something?
Happy Monday all anyone out there!
Congratulations to CtD. Happy pills in the bin then!
catbird, hope you've had a chance to have a look, and it was worth it by the time you got there! Mariella's is worth a look too, once you have the hang of it...if you right-click on the underlined name and 'open in new window', you don't lose the one you are already looking at either...
Thank you Mariella!
Well isn't this nice. Christophe is away and we're all getting on like a house on fire.

Hello Everyone :0)
Cheryl - I also saw the CLP clip :0) I was chuckling and being goggle eyed at the same time! Congrats on your job - hope the handing in of the notice goes well. I have been known in the past to leave it on a desk and run - what a wimp ;0)
Hope you all have a lovely day.

Oh and P.s
I nearly had a heart attack this morning when I read a Press Release that started - Big Changes to Radio 2 weekday evening lineup ..... But no fuss was needed, the only changes are after 7pm - Mr Mac has a new show incidently, if your intrested then follow the link! TaTa

Hi everyone,
Wasn't going to comment til Chris came back, but i had to say a big well done to Cheryl the Diva, i am so pleased for you, you sounded so miserable.
Hope you are all well; all is OK here, just waiting for my childminding registration to come through and then I'll be off! Hopefully I'll be able to give up dinnerladying too; it was only meant to be a stop gap but I've been there nearly 3 years! My eldest son will be going up to high school in September, so if I leave little one will be there all on his own for the first time. I know it'll do him good but I think it'll be strange for him without his mum and big bro to look after him.
Lots of love, Em xx
BTW - Thank you penguin. A Happy Easter will be being had by all!
CtD - well done, well done, well done!!!!!!! Am so pleased for you and hope the notice thingy went OK. You deserve this great new start and it's the end of the portacabin for you!!!! Only tears of joy now too!
Well done again!

The deed is now done - and I'm still in one piece - as opposed to being in bits for the last few weeks!!
I feel absolutely wonderful, and thank you all for your support and messages of congrats. Not sure when I leave here yet - but for now I'm carrying on as normal (but with a smile instead of tears!)
Off to visit a school now - only two more school visits before I leave as they break up for Easter hols this week.
Til tomorrow comrades!

Yay - CtD, have been following your portacabin exploits with interest! Only goes to show that good things come to those who wait.... Big Congrats to you for getting the notice thing out of the way nice and quickly too.
Keep smiling

Hi everyone,
Yes, I know I said I would come back when Chris does, but I just want to say to Prof Plum #159 and Hazel Love (and she IS a love!) #165 - sometimes it is sooooo difficult not to respond. Last time CE was on holiday, this blog was hilariously funny and really close. But too much for some people. Then, when we all take the hint and head off to different pastures, comes the cry "where IS everyone"?! Makes me seethe!!! But you're right - say nothing and then you are really saying something!
I really want to congratulate CtD - well done! You have been through hell in your job and you are now moving on - you must be over the moon!
Em M #177 - Good luck with the childminding - what a fantastic, fulfilling job. Yes, your wee guy will miss you being at the school, but he will reap the rewards of you being home during the day. We had the most incredible childminder - at first I was terrified my daughter would think she was her mum (Ms S was five months old when she first went to the childminder) but nothing like that happened! It was wonderful for my daughter to be around so many other children and she really loved it!
To everyone else, I really do send my best wishes. If I have sounded grumpy, I apologise but I've earned it - being 50 is not easy!!

Cheryl the Diva; your portacabin blues will soon be over - well done! You could turn postacabin blues into a song! I applied for a job once that was temporarily based in a portacabin, it was in the summer, and with no aircon it was so hot in their I was pleased I didn`t get the job.
Drat, I missed the naked footie, not that I`m gay or anything, but what a laugh. CLP is not embarrassed to show off his wedding vegetables, remember TFI, and my freind was in the audience.

PS. Holly Hotlips now commentates at F1 Grand Prix`s for 大象传媒 Radio Five Live.
Will, co-founded Monkey productions and takes the lead in generating ideas and oversees the creative side. Among their programs is The Charlotte Church Show.
Not sure about Dan the Man or Johnny Boy Revel?
Wow spring really is sprung, wine's cheap and CtD has a new job. I was in much the same state this time last year and went into work like Tigger the day after the job offer.
Mange tout one and all. xx
Hi Cheryl
CONGRATS !!!
I hope the new job goes really REALLY well.
I don`t know about the others but lovely Will is a super duper important person (Exec Prod) on The Charlotte Church Show amongst other things. I ran in to him at The Beeb about a month ago when I`d popped up to see McFly sing Primal Screams "Rocks" for Charlottes show.
He still looks EXACTLY the same. Bless him :) xx
Afternoon bloggers
Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine :o)
CtD - Congratulations, I am absolutely delighted for you, well done!
Em - Good luck with the childminding, hope you don't have much longer to wait. Your wee one might find it strange at first not having his Mummy and brother there but I'm sure he will be just fine :o)
ChrissieS - It is difficult to ignore people, especially when they make us so mad, you weren't being grumpy you were only defending the well being of the CLP blog :o)
Take care all

Hello all! It has been a littel while for me here, but I am glad to see all the same folks hanging around with CLP on leave. I for one am on break this week and am spending it just relaxing. I am concentrating on eating good food and drinking great wine!
CtD - Congratulations! I am very glad things are workingout for you.
Em - Good luck to you as well.
Today is a somber day for me. This would have been my father's 73rd birthday (he passed away 8 years ago). Causes me to be reflective and remember him warmly. Cheers Pop!
Have a great evening everyone! Next week, Chris will be back and business as usual.
Amanda
Tracey-Ann - ooh, it's good to hear from you again. Hope you're keeping well and that everything is going OK for you xx
CtD - well done again. Not long to go, I hope, and should the portacabin blues get you, just count down the days until you're out of there!! At least you won't have to suffer a hot summer in there xx
Martin - hope you're doing OK as well xx

Cheryl - WELL DONE YOU!!!!! See - it was just a matter of time! I really, really hope this new job is all you want it to be!!!
Em M - Good on you!! Childminding - briefly thought about it myself, but I don't like children enough (apart from my own, of course....). Good childminders are worth their weight in gold. I have been lucky with childminders, but I know others that haven't been so fortunate. I'm sure you'll have a lengthy waiting list before too long! Btw - are you going to offer a before and after school service as well? Childminders in my area that offer such a service are EXTREMELY thin on the ground.
HL - Put that hat away - I will never, never, NEVER get married again!!! Good wishes for a long and happy relationship are welcomed though!
Not long now until CLP is back -I do miss him!!!
Later all!!!
S xx.
Well done Cheryl - I always believe that things happen for a reason, and when they're meant to. We don't always know why at the time, but it's usually right when it happens, so enjoy the last little while in the portacabin.
Good luck Em!
Hazel, I'm afraid I haven't had time to stop and look at the websites yet - but I definitely intend to, when I get two minutes to myself.
Hope everyone's having a great week,
Love Catbird xx
Hello Everyone, good to see you've all continued chatting here. Very comforting to think of blog life going on as usual! Life with me has been a whirling fiasco... well, maybe that makes it sound awful and it certainly isn't, but it does make it hard to find time to join in on the Blog. Sending you all good wishes, fine dishes, love and laughter forever and after. Jill xxxxxxxxx
Morning all, tasty tuesday it is!
A fun drive into work this morning, mist and fog all the way, visibility between 50 and 100 metres most of the way. Then climbed up the hill for the last 3 miles and above it all was glorious sunshine. A chance to turn those foglights off and open the sunroof for 10 minutes or so whilst listening to Tezza! Bliss!
I trust you are all well and not missing CLP too much, not long now and he'll be back fully refreshed and raring to go!
Spring is in the air, daisies in the lawn
The mornings smell pristine
and the trees are turning green
The sap it must be rising,
my tom cat's getting frisky
the evenings a little lighter
while I enjoy my whisky!

Hi Sammie
'tis an ongoing joke I have with my nephew...my hat (Phillip Treacy of course!) has been in and out of cold storage so many times, the feather has wilted...
I still have a cold. My ear hurts, my throat is sore, and I woke up unable to open my right eye due to sticky goo.
The weather however, continues fine.

Morning!
Hang on - I'm just about to take a bit bite off today! Chomp! Lovely! A cool bright morning greeted me followed by a blackbird perched on the windowsill - taking a good look at the view in front of him before deciding he had no time for views and that it was breakfast! Likewise, I thought it was a good idea - you can learn lots from nature!
Hope all is well, for those of you interested - and I use that term loosly - will be relieved to know that I sorted out that garden on Sunday. Having hacked my way through the 'grass that dare not be cut' - we're now back to normal and I will say, the place is looking good again! Hurray!
That was my one job following a lengthy birthday weekend for me! All I need now is a week to recover...just in time for next weekend!!
Enjoy tasty, tangy Tuesday.
Tickle
CtD - Congrats, Congrats on the job etc. I'm just catching up today.
I reiterate...DD...
Did you get me a present?
...and if anyone cares, it's 'World Theatre Day' today.
DAHLINGS!
MWAH!
...six days indeed...just in time for the full moon...
Morning everyone!
I am absolutely overwhelmed at all your messages of congrats. It's weird how a group of people you've never met before can so easily become part of your day - I actually miss the chatter when I'm unable to blog!
The sun is shining here today - bliss!!
The weekend weather meant that we got to spend some quality time on our allotment - tons of weeding, planted onions, shalliots, (more) broad beans and a zillion parsnips. Mr Diva was up there til gone 7 last night and came home laden with fresh brocolli, leeks etc for dinner.
I feel really really positive and focussed about the future!
Martin - how goes it? You're sounding more chipper of late. Thinking of you hun!
Em M - childminding! What a fab idea. Might suggest it to my best mate. She's 'stuck' at home with a 5 yr old and a 2 yr old and struggling for money. Although I expect it to be really hard work - I'll call her today!
Right, best do something .... I've got a parish council visiting the recycling plant this pm. At least I can now count down the visits until I go!
Laters!

Hi again,
Thanks for all your kind comments, to whoever it was who asked, i will only be childminding before and after school, I'm not keen to go back to the baby stage - been there done that!
Feels weird without Chris doesn't it? I like Stuart M but i just keep forgetting to switch on the radio at 5 as I normally would. I'm afraid I've been watching Richard and Judy, but that will all change on Monday on Chris's return.

As I walked into this town I shouted, "Hello freinds!" I heard my voice echo... hello...o freinds...s
"Is anyone here?" I shouted.
My voice echoed back, then silence!!
Yes it is a bit hollow in here. The tumble weed blows across the dirt street. A door swings back and forth in the wind, banging as it does so. A fine dust covers the ground. Where has everyone gone? The Sheriff has left town, the jail is empty, the dancing girls have left town, the saloon bar is empty, with only a lonely sole proped up against the bar, a large shot of red eye staring him in the face saying drink me, drink me, drink
me.
I walk on through the town and see a sign, Thanks for visiting Gingtown. 200 miles to Togsville.
I carry on walking...
Who got 200???
:o) Jo
Will I get 200? Probably not, but just wanted to say:
Em M - well done on the childminding - sorry the good wishes are late but well done! Here's hoping yours and CtD's positive news will rub on me and my job applications!

You speak with fork tongue.
Togsville is a home for the elderley cowboy with lame horse.
How!!!!!
I thought the entire population of togsville had been put on the B ark.

Crazy Horse... welcome stranger.
Your right this down is quite, but you should have been here a while ago, it was one hell of a party. Now almost everyone has left. You could walk 200 miles to Togsville, or you could hang around town for a while, things could change.
Take care stranger.
Martin
Crazy Horse, you would be mad to walk 200 miles to Togsville. Get yourself some kip, then at sun rise take the drunks horse, he won`t be needing it, and take off - head for Dawnpatrollersville. A crazy little town with crazy people but with a welcome as warm as your mums fresh baked buns!
Good luck my freind.

Good evening all
It is always strange when Chris isn't around.
We all posted like mad at Christmas and nearly broke the damn blog!
I have been reading everyday, but a combination of frantic work and CLP withdrawal has led to me remaining an observer.
Till now.
I think Stu-pot has done a fine job, I do like his wit, unashamed 80s nostalgia-fest and his fine taste in music.
But, I guess we all want Chris back.
Much peace and love to all

MfR, heard you (?) last night on with Mr Macaroni, good guess for the missing link but, even though it's definitely Ben Elton, I haven't a clue who the other one is! Will this one last as long as the one that went on Monday? Who knows?!
Can't wait for CLP to be back on Monday, I'm missing Beat The Busby and want pics of Fox Cub number 2 on the web page!
Congrats to CtD on the new job and to Em M on her new career, good luck to you both
TTFN all, have fun

Happy Hump Day One And All!!
I'm really, really 'cited coz The Apprentice is back tonight - the finest prog on TV EVER!!! I still say The Badger was robbed lastyear ....
Ivor - dawnpatrollesville drives me insane! Radio 2 is the only station our ancient clock-radio can pick up so we get SK every morning from 6.25 - she is bonkers! If I had a fiver for every time she stumbles on her words and then follows with "I can't seem to read things today .." or such like, I'd only have to work part-time! The best thing about SK is that it makes me and Mr Diva get out of bed sharpish! I like Alex Lester when he does the cover job for SK.
Missing CLP like mad! Stu's OK but not as chipper as our Chris.
My morning tour group have cancelled on me - hurrah! - which gives me a whole day at desk. I get the impression that as soon as I have cleared my desk, Mr Bossman will let me go! I've told new employer a start date of 23rd April so it would be nice to have some "me" time before leaving here for pastures new.
Congrats Jillygoat on getting #200 !!!! And good luck with job searching - do you think its something in the air that's making the natives all restless?!?!
Shall we have a book on whether we get to 250 postings before CLP returns, and who will get the coveted 250th slot? It can take the place of guess the blog time on Friday!?!
Well, best do something now I'm here!

Not long now until best beloved CLP returns. I agree with everyone ele Stu Mac is good, just not AS good as CLP!
Nowt wrong with Togsville either!! Don't know what I'd have done without Wogan and co to brighten up the mornings whilst stuck in traffic on yet another motorway. The fact that drivers around me probably think I'm completely nuts is irrelevant - Jant and John are sooo funny!
Right, Hump day all, keep going, not long now until the weekend (and the happy return of the travelling B/F).
Em M - excellent service you're offering - do you live in my area?

P.S. How much????
P.P.S The brain is dead, but the flesh is willing...
Not posted for ages, but had to today, to ask.....
Was that THE Matt from Rudgewick on Missing Link????? When Mr Macaroni asked what he did for a living, I shouted out "Accountant!" and now the present Mr Hellbell thinks I'm either psychic or up to something.
If only he knew....

Woo-hoo, I made # 200!!!
Thanks CtD - not sure what it is that's in the air but there an awful lot of people going for interviews at the moment aren't there?! Mine's due to redundancy but it wasn't the most interesting of jobs anyway, so I'm sure there's summat much better out there for me .......
Hazel Love - I loved the lonely sole too! Would that be a bit like a sad salmon?

Sammie - I'm in Norfolk, where are you?
Just watched Harvey Goldsmith and Samantha Mumba, I taped it (couldn't miss Life on Mars) and watched while I did my tramparunning as I call it! I thought it was really entertaining, and it was good to see Sam pull it out if the bag when she needed to.
I'm excited about The Apprentice too, yes the Badger was robbed, I'd like her to do the business with Chris, i think they'd be a great combination. There was one guy on last year's show i thought was lovely, much to nice to work for Sir Alan though. I can't remember his name, can anyone else?
Where's Susan S gone? I'm missing her, if you're reading this, did you look on Wife in the North blog? I think you'd really like it.
Lots of love Em xx
Well hi there bloggers
I'm not sure if i should admit this but CLP is the only show I listen to on radio 2. All the rest just seem so old - specially the guy in the morning. Nice to see that CLP has been nominated for a Sony "The broadcaster's broadcaster award"
Up against some stiff competition - my money will be on John Peel!
ciao xx
Martin James - because I said I would let you know, and anyone else who cares...
I have had Mr and Mrs Bluetit visit my bird feeding facility this morning. SO excited! I have added to the food on display as it appeared that the only ones eating the seed were the chaffinch, the pheasant, the robin and some baby buns.
That's my news for today.

Hallo, Virgin Blogger here. Have enjoyed your blogs over the past few weeks, in fact think I'm becoming addicted!
Am off to Ljubljana tomorrow for a long weekend. Can recommend it - beautiful city, nice people. Will be checking out shoes and handbags.
Please please please check out this site, just heard Lukes Mom on Jeremy Vine and have been in floods of tears.
Anything we can do to try and find her son.
Please post this on your personal sites.

Em M - alas, Norfolk is a little too far from deepest, darkest Leics - but will bear you in mind if I ever move there!
Hazel - honey, glad the tits like new arrangements. I have lovely tits too, blue ones, that like to play with my friend Robin.

Thanks Hazel. We`ve had a green coloured wood pecker, pecking the grass. His mum didn`t tell him it was trees he was supposed to peck - shall I issue him with an ASBO!!? Plus the rabit is back chewing the grass.
It`s a nice day, bit misty here though.
Hello to everyone, hope you`re all well and looking forward to Spring Bank Hol. I`m hopeing to watch some motor racing on bank hol monday.

Hi all - gorgeous day here in sunny Bedfordshire. I do love spring. As the togmeister Mr Wogan says - tits like coconuts. Couldn't resist that, with all the bird talk going on.
Has anyone seen the new show, Heroes? It's absolutely brilliant. Can't get into reality shows like The Apprentice - and as for Big Brother - AAAAAH!

Hello all
Has anyone else noticed a general lifting of mood since the clocks sprung forward? I'm sure it happens every year, but this year seems more pronounced than previously. Ravel seems to have cheered up the most, though it could be partly due to the annual pay rise I awarded. As this was below inflation for the third year running I'm discounting it as an important factor. It could also be something to do with the new receptionist, who is relentlessly cheerful and not completely unnatractive.
Dolores, my ever-increasingly-pregant wife, is the only one dragging her (rather swollen) heels. Not sure what the problem is at the moment. I'll try and find out what's happened this evening.
regards
J McC
Hi there everyone - first time I've blogged, it must be CLP withdrawal !!!
Can't wait until he's back I'm fed up of listening to the same CD's night after night.
I heard that same interview SammyM - it was so heartbreaking, lets hope someone can give her some info.
Anyway lucky me I'm off for a curry in Derby
Talk again soon x
4 wheels this time, Cheryl, but I enjoy watching 2 wheels too, far more exciting than F1.
Anti-social Bird Order, good one Hazel.
M
Dr McC - a definite lightening of mood in Sammie Towers. The children have even been playing with each other! Imagine! (She's 15, he's 9 - not a lot in common!)
A whole lot to do with the clocks, I think. Plus the fact there's no school or work next week? Hmm, maybe!
Hope Mrs McC is keeping well and that you're doing lots for her.
S xx.
Here I am!!!!
I'm still around, just not as much! How on earth am I going to catch up with what you've all been up to!?
Cheryl - congrats honey! So glad you gt the new job!
Em - you'll be a fab childminder! Well done for following through on that - I know how much work it is to get yourself registered.
Martin - sounds like you're doing grand! Well done you! Massive hugs.
Amanda - your emails always cheer me up. Thinking of you in your loss - it's not something you ever get over!
The Moose Gang - you know how much I love you all for your support this last week or so - you'll never know how much that meant to me!
Prof Plum - I have a spare microwave in the shed if you want it!
Everybody else - it's lovely to see the blog still going in CLP's absence!
Now - it's CLP's birthday on April 1st. How's about you all send me a photo and I'll blog it with a birthday message for him on 1st. You can message me through my web site with your email address, I'll send you mine, then you can send me a pic, preferably by 31st, so I can work on it that evening. Go on ... isn't CLP worth it!?
Huggles, all round,
Susan, Highland lass
In fact, better still, a photo with you holding up a birthday wish!
Gooday to one and all.
Not long now till the return of Mr Chris Evans!!!
However I thought Mr Marconi played some good tunes. He could do with his own programme pref between 0930 till 12.00.
MICROWAVE ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT.
My mirowave which was involved and subsquently died, has been replaced with a brand new one which will be cllaimed for on the Drivers Insurance. Thanks though, Sussan S for the kind offer of your unused one in the potting shed.
Hazel Love: Yes I am still moving mid April. It will be quite nice to get away from the local village for local people! They just don't appreciate Calvin Clein Wellingtons and sports cars here.
Dr JMC : The Institute will never be the same without Denise. When is JMC junior due by the way?
On the work front I have been busy arranging the Easter trip for the residents of the Retired Home for Carbaret artists. We are off on a booze cruise on the 9th April. Marge who gets a bit confused is insisting on taking her Bikini to wear on board ship.
Hope you all have a good weekend.
Sammie - I try my best with Dolores, but sometimes I think I just don't cut the mustard. This morning she admonished me for putting too much milk on her cornflakes. Yesterday I put not enough on the same amount of cereal. As a scientist, I find it difficult to understand the rationale of such behaviour.
Plum - I also miss Denise. Jemima should be able replacement, but only time will tell. No.3 is due at the end of April.
J McC
Prof Plum ... what are you saying about the wonderful Ken Bruce? Is he not your cup of capuccino babe?
And what on earth was Lady Dawn Patrol on this morning? Methinks she's angling for a sickie tomorrow - if she mentioned her sore throat once .... well, Alex Lester tomorrow then???

Thirsty Thursday!!!
Nearly finished in the old job - yippee, quickly followed by the welcome return of the lovely K at the weekend, followed by a week off work! Things are looking good!
Am at my new office today, sitting across from my new boss and unlike my old office, no-one behind me, so I can blog to my hearts content!
Susan - will e-mail pic later, as soon as I find one good enough for our lovely CLP. May have to have photoshoot this evening... mmm.
Hazel, how are your tits today? (Oo-er missus!)
Prof - I either really like Ken's show or hate it - strange! I daresay we're not alone, but there will also be hoards of fans that love him as much as we love CLP.
I' aiming to be 250 - so will blog later to help achieve my aim.

Oh dear, been so busy I thought it was Friday until I just picked up my local shooting magazine.
Now ,I have to say I'm not a huge Ken Bruce fan. I don't find him funny but boy sometimes am I tempted to text in the song lyric.....
Sorry, I'm sure he is loved by millions.
Dr JMC I hear Icelands have a sale of recycled disposable nappies on offer. Buy a frozen chicken with 100 nappies free. Hope this helps.
I think I would prefer Mr Maconi on in the afternoon, dare I say, instead of Mr Wright...if it for the fact that the reception for the superb local radio is atrocious where I am, I wouldn't have him on. Mr Bruce in the morning, Mr Vine for lunch, Mr Maconi for the pm, Christophe for the lovely bit...
Tits are c by their a today. Plenty of buns about, and the cows (a bit further over...I ain't feeding them!) are bumbling around.
14.49 and all is relatively well.

Thought I鈥檇 just share a short story about our eldest cat with the blogsters. Domino is the laziest cat in the world, only moving when fresh food is being put in her bowl, which is never as frequently as she would like!
She has rarely been in our new back-garden unless she has spotted a particularly warm sun-spot that is not yet occupied by any of our other 3 cats, let alone been out of the front door.
Whilst putting out the rubbish for collection on Monday evening she suddenly decided to get all Ranulph Ffeines on me. She picked herself up and headed out of the front door with a determination not seen since Francis Drake was going to finish his game of Bowls on Plymouth Hoe before spanking the Spanish posteriors!
Anyhoo, suddenly she was like a cat possessed, out the door, across the yard and out of the gate in seconds, heading down the side of the car, across the back and along the side of the garage before I could stop her. When I caught up with her she was heading through the fence and towards the main road. So I stood in her path and she got all Michael Owen on me, a dummy, a body-swerve and a bolt for the blind-side, giving me 鈥渢he eyes鈥 in the process. Fortunately, I was still too quick for her and, in spite of her ignoring the rustled food sachet, managed to scoop her up and carry her back indoors through lots of thrashing and yowling!
All I want to know is, who has been giving my dopey old cat Lucozade Sport?

Crazy Horse, if your still walking to Togsville, you`ll need some sustenance on the way. I can recomend a place to get a hearty breakfast, just over 106 miles from Gingetown, in Bigsmokeville. The dancing girls are the best around and the liquor mighty fine.
Me, well I`ve been lacking in energy today, very lathargic - I think I know why, but I`m not saying, why? Cos!
Anyway it`s a bit of a coolish day, dull and foggy; the air is so still. But the birds are in fine tune, working overtime on thier Spring chorus.
I`ve got steak pie, with mash, sprouts, carrots and gravy tonight, then plum crumble with custard - scrum diddly, yum yum...
Keep well everyone.

I discovered Chris Evens' radio show ,by accident, one night driving home and what a breath of reinvigorated fresh air he was. He was so genuine and caring towards the people he works with and his listeners, especially the ones on air, unlike another DJ with the same christian name. Radio awards need to come in his direction, not go to those who ridicule and undermine their audience at every turn.

I was thinking this morning how quickly things change. This time last week I'd not had my sucessful interview, now 7 days later I've got a new job to look forward to and have worked the first week of my notice period!
This time last week our spare room looked like a building site, but today thanks to hours of Mr Diva's dedication to painting in the evenings, we will be hanging curtains and buying a carpet at the weekend!
Last day for Mr Maconie before our lovely CLP reappears. Sturart - if you're reading this (might even email you at the Beeb) CLP always buys cakes for the team on a Friday .... say no more!
Righteoooo, best get some work done. I've got a list of things to do and I think that as soon as I've done them all I'll be allowed to leave here early and work my notice period from the allotment - I'm aiming for an Easter release (parole for good behavour!?)
Ti amore!
CtD x x
Wow-ie, it's the weekend again - and didn't those two weeks without the good Dr Evans go by quickly? Well...they did for me!
What a buzz this morning - the weather is great, sunshine and bright evenings - and it's to last for the next few days! Yaaaay!
So, anyone got any interesting plans for the weekend? I think it'll be spring cleaning mixed with being out and about...
See ya Monday -
Tickle :)
Good morning all!
Fabulous, flirty Friday! Yay! And CLP back on Monday! Double Yay!
MfR - I did hear you! Forgot to say! I nearly swerved off the road, shouting to my husband, 鈥楾hat鈥檚 Matt! That鈥檚 Matt!!!鈥 Love the white jacket with wrap-around sleeves he has bought me!
Sammie - lovely photo, honey! Thanks! Any other takers?! Go on!!!
Danny Dayglow - here鈥檚 an ice pack and a plaster - I鈥檇 kiss it better, but I don鈥檛 know you well enough!
Martin - It鈥檚 a rather lethargic day here too! Hope you enjoyed the pie!
Didding Dave - that鈥檚 a great story! Spring is in the air!
Had to wait in all day yesterday - the gas man who said he鈥檇 be here before lunch, arrived at about 4.15pm, spent an hour in the loft and then confirmed that my heating really wasn鈥檛 working! Nice guy, though!
Hope you all have a great day!
Huggles, Susan >
PS See you next door!
Susan S - glad you liked the pic - it was the bgst of a bad bunch though I'm afraid!!
Lethargic on a Friday - thats me. Had some news late last night that has taken the wind out of my sails. (the long awaited retuen of Flutterby man has been delayed - darn those Americans!) BUT have had a good breakfast, and today IS the last day on my old job, so...
No netball tomorrow, so will be able to partake of a few alcoholic refreshments this evening.
Going back to sulk now....
S xx.
P.S. Roll on Monday!
P.P.S Earl Grey? Isn't 5th Lord of Marchant?
Will it be me..at 250 (what a fantastic rhyme!!)
I was BP'd!!!
Possibly because of a disparaging comment about our friends across 'the pond'...
They're making my lovely Flutterby Man stay there longer. So plans for a lovely reunion on Sunday have been shelved :-(
I wish CLP were on tonight - I know he would cheer me up!!
S xx.
Not with that effort - bide a wee

Sammie -
Well done on being # 250!! Can't see us making 300 before Monday but then again, it will no doubt be a late appearance from Mr E himself .....
Hope your last day at work goes quickly and that it's not too long before your man comes home xx
Have a good weekend all xx

Afternoon bloggers and schloggers!!
Just a quickie (oo-er)
With due respect to our friends in green and orange, I'd just like to say COME ON ENGLAND! for the cricket!
DD out
Oh dear, England's openers really are just 2 wickets walking!
Still the world's best one day batsman is now at the crease. COME ON THAT FINE ENGLISH(?) BATSMAN KEVIN PIETERSEN!
DD Out!! just like the England openers!!!
This is just a test as the BP are not letting me blog. Don't know why, I've not really blogged that much, maybe that's why???!
Oh it looks like I can!
Afternoon all.
I've not blogged for sooo many months, I feel really terrible. Still I shall be starting maternity leave from 5th April and will be able to blog everyday after that - well until the baby arrives of course.
Prof - I hope you got everything sorted with your house, I remember you had a bit of a do over christmas. Was that really only 3 months ago??!!
Happy weekend all
xxx
Thank you Martin, I arrived at Bigsmokeville early this morning, earlier than I thought and I found it just a 5th of a mile further from your directions. Their I had my self a real HEARTy breakfast, the best ever! And you are right, the dancing girls are the best around, the liquor fine and the chat is free.
Now, I`m not sure weather to head on to Togsville or turn back to Gingtown?

Firstly.
Some of you will be aware that today has seen the end of an era in the blog world.
If you look up into the sky this evening there is a star twinkling brighter than all the others.
That star is part of a brand new constellation known simply as
Moosa Major.
Whatever route your river takes you, may luck be with you.
CLP. Well done on your Sony double-whammy nomination.
Oh, and many happy returns for Sunday.
Thank you Stuart for keeping the seat warm for the past two weeks and playing some great music.
And for talking to me on air!
Have a fabulous weekend everyone.
Much love and peace
MfR
PS All of this is coming your way.
PPS Always forgive your enemies: nothing annoys them so much.
i agree with MfR - long live the Moose....and every decision is the right one at the time.
live long and prosper.
Gooday Sunshine one and all.
I feel strange today but that's not unusual.
I can't quite understand why the woman on the answer machine keeps talking to me. She must have said over ten times already today."Answer machine on the unit will answer after 6 rings". Maybe she's lonely and just want to chat. Or maybe it's spooks.......
I must say Crazy Horse, I thought I was a bad speller! but you take the trophy.
Anna R: What a good memory you have. Yes we had a do here at Christmas. We tied the neighbours to stocks and hurled turkey twisslers at them. Or was that just a wishful dream.
I hope everyone enjoys the weekend. I have to sort out a problem with Ebay. Marge advertised her motorised scooter for 5p instead of 拢500. The guy is coming collect soon so I have some explaining to do.
Chris, Chris, Chris.
Where have you been?
I got my new computer solely for the use of listening to you from over here in Canada. Guess what! You took a vacation. I had to listen to Stuart. I like Stuart but he鈥檚 no Chris, the ginger haired man.
So, hurry back. Welcome back, and please be as funny as ever.
I usually listen to the show while I make dinner. Sometimes I laugh so hard that dinner takes a tumble. The fish goes flipping.
I expect to be back In December to visit the Sister and friends.
Hope all is well with you and the team.
Matthew.
PS, I don鈥檛 need to use the wedding dress. Where is it going this week?
I KNOW THAT A FIRST DAY BACK AT WORK IS USUALLY LIKE WADING THROUGH SYRUP but I am SO pleased you are back - I have missed you hugely on the way back from work. It's incredible what a big part of my day the drive time show has become! I keep thinking of the DJ song "you seem like a friend to me"... Same for Terry Wogan in the morning on the way in.
WELL DONE CHRIS! I heard you right from the beginning when you took over from Johnny Walker, you weren't as confident, no one knew quite how it would work out, and then Rebecca started as well, and you got good feedback and gradually it has just got better and better and you became more confident, less uncertain. And you are SO entertaining, and nice, and fun, and quick. and PERSONAL - you seem to open yourself up to us, which is really brave. Sometimes you say things that really get to me, like when you said you wished you could get into the world of classical music but didnt know where to start... I was shouting at you in the car! I wonder if you have made a start.
Anyway - this is my first contact with your blog, so I'll send it off without editing. it's 6 am Sunday morning. Lovely day ahead and YOU to look forward to after work on Monday. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! and WELCOME BACK!!! Marina
Happy Birthday Chris - have a great day!
Missed you lots, look forward to hearing you tomorrow.
Lots of love

Hey Chris
HAPPY BIRTHDAY for Sunday (today)
Welcome back! I hope you are refreshed, and ready to take on the radio world once again.
The Moose is dead, the world is a duller place today with out him, I hope for his return, maybe in another guise, he is an inspiration to us all..As Jillygoat says he's an author - he's also funny, caring, sharing and has a hell of a harem!
This is not saccharin, it is the truth, so no negative comments please.
Love live the Moose!
Love
Caroline xx
Happy birthday gorgeous!! You share your birthday with another hero of mine - David Gower!
Can someone tell me why the Moose has departed? I always loved reading what he had to say - come back Moose PLEASE!!

We'll miss ya.
Move on and let us know about the book!
Hi Chris
We sat next to you and your companion on the plane to sunnier climes last week. We tried to finish your crossword!! Not very well, 23 down was AMBERTA and not AMBERHA! Anyway, you both looked fab and we're glad that you will be back on air in time for our arduous drive home from work tomorrow.
Great show Chris, thanks hugely.
Samm and Tiny (Tiny was the bloke)
Hi everyone,
Firstly, Happy Birthday Chris. Yeah, I'm a bit late in the day but thats pretty normal for me.
So, there have been a few shout outs for the Sweep. Personally I think we may be in for an early blog, but 'after birthday head' might put a stop to that, so I'll be going for my usual 15.48. Join in if you wish, or don't if you don't. Abnormal rules apply. Odds on, evens out.
Good night all, (other remedies are available)
MW, a!
Probably won't be able to post til Wednesday - going to Glasgow today for the Lionel Richie concert! Then the Scottish OAMC Tuesday evening! Yay!
So, MwA - I go for 11.10am!
Huggles,
Susan, Highland lass
MWa! - can I have 1.22pm please?! Thanks.

***HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR YESTERDAY CHRIS!***
I did say it then, but I have laryngitis at the moment, so I couldn't shout as loud as I'd have liked to! Missed you, looking forward to 5pm today...
Glad to see the re-emergence of AS66! xxx
...and I hope Marge managed to get her 拢500...Prof Plum - were you up for any commission?
VIVE LE MOOSE!

Can't wait for the blogmeister to make his return on t'innterweb or t'radio. It's been a long 2 weeks!
Hope your feeling better now Hazel although I fear that you've given germs to me - am sounding remarkably husky today.
:o) Jo
Missed you loads Chrissy boy!! You make me smile driving home. I live in Cornwall and the drive home is pretty spectac anyway, but you make it even better! (was the creepy enough?)
Looking forward to tonight!! (drive home that is..)
DD, you made me cry!
Beautiful x
Just doing my bit to try and get to 300 before CLP's return :0)
Belated Happy Birthday CLP, I am also a April Babe and the 1/2 centuary is this week!
Can't wait - 4hrs to go till normal drivetime resumes.
xXx
P.S what has happened to Moose? can someone say - have not posted for a bit and just saw the comments about him not blogging anymore, shame as I loved reading his bits :0)
I'm sorry folks - don't get to read these or listen in as much since I went on mat leave. Has the fox had her baby yet? Me, I had a wee boy way back in Nov. Can't believe he's 4 n a half months already and he's a wee gem. Cheers, Ali x
I recon Gingetown will open again at 3.21 precisly. Ok so it`s a late bet!
CH
Good afternoon one and ya'll
Monday Monday so good to me, But I've got Friday on my mind.
Hazel: a very nice man from Ebay has sorted the problem out re Marge's motor scooter so you can sleep peacefully tonight.
Moose: What a shame.
My bets on 5pm.
Hazel,
Sorry and you're welcome!

Chris,
Helicopters are called rotary winged because the rotors are actually performing the same function as a wing on a conventional jet or propeller driven airccraft. The spinning of the rotor provides the lift the same as does the speed of the wind over an aircraft wing.
best wishes,
You have just stated that Mars are taking animal products and are feeding them back to cows. Is it only me who is thinking BSC?
I desparately wanted to win Genesis tickets but either answer questions or get through.... I thought I was an Genesis anorak until I heard some of the questions!
Therefore drastic measures called for - just booked flight to Rome Sat 14 July for the free concert at the Circus Maximus that evening. Only 拢70 Ryanair from Liverpool - perhaps you could tell the rest of the nurds who couldnt get tickets Chris please? Thanks SABRA M, Llangollen
PS Enjoy your well deserved break.
Hi Chris
I really love listening to your show you always brighten my day!
Would love to make a request for JAILBREAK by THIN LIZZY, as getting out of Leicester to spend the weekend with Dolphin lovers as the NATIONAL DOLPHIN AND WHALE WATCHING WEEK, starts tomorrow all around the counrty, and my friend Chris Marriott and I are watching in St Ives this week end
Love you load Carolxx
Dear Chris, my wife and I will be Club and Lady Captains next year at our local golf club Mid Sussex which is near Ditchling where Vera Lynne lives. I thought as you are a prolific golfer I could ask you if you could donate some item for our auction for Stroke Association on our Captains Day if you could we would be very Grateful. Hope to here from you soon Allen.
I'm furious that I couln't get springsteen tickets, but all of the non fan's could, and are now trying to flog them on ebay for rediculous prices!! It's so unfair ebay should put a stop to this have they no morals?!!
The show is great especially as you just played Springsteen born to run!
