JUST BE REALLY GOOD AND ALL WILL BE WELL., OH AND BY THE WAY I DON'T WANT TO GO ON HOLIDAY BUT

Chris Evans | 16:03 UK time, Friday, 5 October 2007

Just been to see a ...

...tricologist. Whta a lovely guy. He saves people's hair and they love him for it and now I love him too.

Hair loss, fascinating stuff. Nearly always preventable to some extent.

He told me how there was a sudden marked increase in hair loss in women a few years ago yet no-one knew why, so a very clever man called Hugh started to look into it and traced it back to the mad cow crisis. Ladies had stopped eating red meat and as a result their iron stocks were plummeting, this in turn was causing a hormone deficiency and out dropped the hair.

Seriously girls and guys, if you're not happy with your hair these geniuses can make you happy. Forty quid a session... major value for money.

I have a friend who has just accepted that her hair is getting old and thin and lifeless, she hates it, well guess what she's getting for Christmas ? (NO NOT A WIG- CYNICS !)

We're on holiday from tonight boo hoo, see you when we get back.

CLP 2007.

Come on Chris, have a great break, all you guys - well deserved. . .

I have to tell you about last night hope you don't mind - what a scream - so there I was, with this cheeky little Shiraz, regaling me with her tales of life on the vines, lying in the sun, then getting picked up by a sun-ripened, olive-skinned Portuguese farmer, before a brief spell feeling down-trodden and squashed out by the local gentry and then there was nothing else for it but to hit the bottle鈥ig-time. A couple of dark years followed, not venturing outside, afraid of the daylight and all the time turning to alcohol, until she was gradually teased out of her shell, into the light by . . . good ole me!!

We spent several hours together; I swallowed her every thought, drowned in her happiness and for the first time in years myself, I felt at one with another, this tall thin stranger, 鈥 yes, admittedly hard-nosed, maybe even full of herself, at first, but when she opened up and poured out all to me, a warm fuzzy feeling enveloped my very being.

After some time though, I鈥檇 had enough and decided that this relationship was not the way forward. She was becoming scarily addictive. I didn鈥檛 want to dump her there and then, that would be just rubbish and that鈥檚 not me. No, beside the corkscrew and stopper, I left her to her own devices - in the kitchen. That was her, her in the corner, losing her religion - with Mr. Sheen (not great company admittedly, as he also happened to be pretty wasted).

As I left for the evening, Madison gave me such a catty look as if to say 鈥淗mm, you鈥檙e a real lothario, my friend and compadre, aren鈥檛 you?鈥 鈥淐alm down, pet..鈥, I mumbled and set off into the Belfast night . .

    Happy Hols . . !!

It's panning out to be a splendid weekend.

The sun is shining in West Sussex and England have only gone and won the bloomin' rugby!

As a non-eggchaser, I wasn't going to bother watching, but I was compelled, as you would be, to take the Aston out for a spin, and once I realised that we weren't actually getting tonked, I dropped into the local and watched the second half.

You know, I could get into this game.

Anyway. I've decided to end my 10 year boycott of Formula One and get up and watch, hopefully, Lewis take the drivers crown. Then, its a nice walk, lunch at The M and home to watch Fulham, hopefully, secure 3 points against Pompey.

And then, the weekend would be complete.

Hope you are all having a good one.

Me and my friend have decided that I'm 'Baby Spice' (ahh) while she is 'Posh'. But then sometimes I can be quite scary!! Went to see George Michael at Wembley in June, now there is real talent, love him to bits!

We took little man to Warwick Castle yesterday, it was lovely there I recommend it. Think we'll take him to Dover Castle sometime.

Hazel I know exactly what you mean with the fine hair thing. Remember the shaggy perms? Well I attempted that back then but my hair is so fine it dropped out within days. Maybe not such a bad thing though!

I had a very busy weekend - much of it spent driving around between dorset, somerset and wiltshire and back to dorset in that order.

I heard the Ilminster carnival went off without a hitch and wish that the Bridgwater one had more of a national press for it - the illuminated floats are fantastic - the Ghost Ship last year won every carnival and collected over 60 cups.

I (may) have just eaten a spider. So WHAT, dear blog friends, have you either knowingly or not-knowingly tucked into...whilst being under the impression it was something else.

A long, long time ago, whilst still a relative youngster, I was munching on my brekkie we3tabix, I realised I was chewing something green, and most unchewy. I screeched and threw the bowl from me, and realised that my mum, thinking that I'd maybe notice it there BEFORE placing milk and cereals atop it, had put two green tie-tags with which to fasten my school project file, in the dish.

Firstly wilsmar, I'm shocked you've not got your sprouts on already. Frankly. I've even disabled our extractor fan so that the whole block of flats will soon be able to enjoy their festive aroma!

Secondly, Plum. That sounds exorbitant. The badger is a skilled profeshnial and works on a day rate as I'm sure your bod does, and on badgers highest rate he should be there for about 6 1/2 days! Way over-charging in my opinion...unless you do have a massive kitchen and it is gonna take him that long! There aren't any plasterers round our way who charge more than about 拢130 per day, and it ain't cheap to live here. I'd get a couple of quotes if I were you...in the meanwhilst, I hope your injury is healing!

Other news. Apart from low flying cherry bakewells, relatively dull here this morning. Am suffering from blue flashing in one eye which, dear friends, is not caused by having a squad car parked outside. Oh no. The badger was pouring house-double gins down my neck last night and although I know I could (other options available) have said no, I didn't, so all self-inflicted, and it was a jolly evening!

A Priest, a Pentecostal preacher, and a Rabbi all served as chaplains to the students of a university. They would get together two or three times a week for coffee and to talk shop. One day someone made the comment that preaching to people isn't really all that hard. A real challenge would be to preach to a bear. One thing led to another and they decided to do an experiment. They would all go out into the woods, find a bear, preach to it, and attempt to convert it. Off they went on their mission. Seven days later they're all together to discuss the experience. Father Flannery, who has his arm in a sling, is on crutches, and has various bandages, goes first. "Well," he says, "I went into the woods to find me a bear. And when I found him I began to read to him from the Catechism. Well, that bear wanted nothing to do with me and began to slap me around. So I quickly grabbed my holy water, sprinkled him and, Holy God, he became as gentle a lamb. The bishop is coming out next week to give him first communion and confirmation." Reverend Billy Bob spoke next. He was in a wheelchair, with an arm and both legs in casts, and with an IV drip. In his best fire and brimstone oratory he exclaimed, "WELL brothers, you KNOW that we don't sprinkle! I went out and I FOUND me a bear. And then I began to read to my bear from God's HOLY WORD! But that bear wanted nothing to do with me. So I took HOLD of him and we began to wrestle. We wrestled down one hill, UP another and DOWN another until we came to a creek. So I quick DUNKED him and BAPTIZED his hairy soul. And just like you said, he became as gentle as a lamb. We spent the rest of the day praising The Lord." They both looked down at the rabbi, who was lying in a hospital bed. He was in a body cast and traction with IV's and monitors running in and out of him. He was in bad shape. The rabbi looks up and says, "Looking back on it, circumcision may not have been the best way to start."

Hello gang - sniffly snuffly Diva Spice reporting for Blog Duty!

Well, I'm back at work. Still can't breath properly but hey ho - I'm alive!! They missed me loads, apparently. Hurrah.

Sean Hughes last night was brilliant!! Sadly, the huge venue wasn't sold out, which dampened the atmosphere a little but those of us who did make the effort truly appreciated his comicly dark mind. Rants included being 41 and single, putting the bins out, "pay-for" tv in hotel rooms, elderly parents, snogging Eileen in Corrie ..... really, really funny. He did about 2 hours, which is impressive for a one-man show.

So - the weekend looms large. Nowt much planned in Diva Towers apart from LOADS of sport (england footie and rugger on the same day, then Moto GP on Sunday). And a carpet picnic Saturday night to Strictly Come Dancing.

Also found out this morning that MotoGP rider Norrick Abe was killed in a road accident earlier this week. He was only 32 and one of the sport's true greats. A very sad loss to motor sport and bike racing.

    So - onwards and upwards.

Chicken wire nailed ter the joists followed by paper mache slapped all over. Wait for it ter dry then sand it smooth. Then pollyfiller ter fill the indentations followed by a thin skim of well mixed plaster ter make it look....... spiffing!!!!!

I'd love to hear how everyone got on. I suppose I'm just hoping I'll be in Norwich one Saturday afternoon and we'll all just bump into eachother (unlikely I know, but do you remember when you and my husband were at Bewilderwood at the same time?) These things do happen!

OMG just heard Lyndyloo's message being read out by Sir Tel! Didn't see his wardrobe malfunction until yesterday, how funny! I bet the cameraman did that on purpose, but I don't suppose we'll ever know.

We had a terrific night together and the great thing about it is - when they do leave a message on the blog, (though we haven't heard from EG and Susan for a while) - I know that I know them! Unfortunately we haven't been able to arrange another get together for many reasons, but we definitely will meet up again. I think you guys should go for it!

Gingembre - fingers crossed for your result today.

j - how exciting for you - if a little scary!

Three things on a desert island: I'd need a radio because I can't live without Terry and Chris. I would certainly need some photographs of my loved ones, and I'm really sorry, I would need to take my husband because I would be terrified on my own!

Mmm, good point about facebook. I don't suppose a search on Missy or Gingembre is going to do much good is it....

J - congrats on exchanging contracts!

Em M - bless you, is it that obvious? The boss isn't back until Friday so I'm preparing myself for his return. He has a horrible temper and I stood up to him once and it didn't go down too well. I'm not sure that this job is for me and I think I'm just waiting to reach that point where I have really had enough. Could it be this Friday?

Little man stayed in his bed all night last night for the first time in.....I don't even remember! He came running into the room this morning saying 'mummy aren't I a good boy!' So I'm really pleased about that today.

A woman goes into Harrods to buy a rod and reel for her grandson's birthday. She doesn't know which one to get, so she just grabs one and goes over to the counter. The Harrods salesman is standing there, wearing dark shades. "Excuse me". She says, "Can you tell me anything about this rod and reel?" He says, "Yes, Madam, I'm completely blind; but, if you'll drop it on the counter, I can tell you everything you need to know about it from the sound it makes." She doesn't believe him, but drops it on the counter anyway. He says, "That's a six-foot Shakespeare graphite rod with a Zebco 404 reel and 10lb line. It's a good all around combination, and it's on sale this week for 拢44." "It's amazing that you can tell all that just by the sound of it dropping on the counter. I'll take it!" She says. As she opens her purse, her credit card drops on the floor. "Oh, that sounds like a Visa card," he says. As the lady bends down to pick up the card, she accidentally f*rts. At first she is really embarrassed but then realizes there is no way the blind salesman could tell it was she who had f*rted. The man rings up the sale and says, "That'll be 拢58.50 please." The woman is totally confused by this and asks, "How did you get to 拢58.50? Didn't you just tell me it was on sale for 拢44". "Yes Madam" He replies, "The rod and reel are 拢44, but the Duck Caller is 拢11 and the Fish Bait is 拢3.50

As Chris is back for a rugby world cup ARF surely there are some suggestions. Mind you I struggle with scrum, line-out, drop kick etc.

Quite a few with TRY in but beyond that....

    Hiya,

MWK - have a lovely week with your sister. I really envy you for your trip to London!

Gingembre - I thought I really must add something after my earlier comment, re: Ant & Dec. My colleague in the office tells me that she saw a news report saying that "they" have it on good authority that Ant & Dec are totally hands on and that there is no way something would be happening on their show and they wouldn't know about it. Well, we live and learn. I said to you earlier that perhaps I am naive - let's change that to being a gullible old fool! I am SO disappointed in them!

    Howya Eejits!!

I'm back safe and sound from the fabulous Far East, a tad jet-lagged, lacking any circulation in me buttocks and with a cauliflower ear after bein' strapped next to the daughter for 14 hours on a plane but hurrah we is bronzed and Bloody Gorgeous. Well, she's bloody gorgeous, I'm bronzed but with a nose like a Jersey Royal, a nasty chafe mark on me coccyx from a rickshaw driver who thought he was Lewis Hamilton and hair that Red Rum would salivate over.

Ah yes. So what've I missed. Apart from Sir Tel's marvellous wardrobe malfunction, bless 'im.

Put me in mind of the lecture I once gave to a group of Fashion students, entitled The Role Of Image Consciousness in Modern Day Society.

With a large pink velcro roller in the back of me head.

And of course, the time I minced glamorously down New York City's Park Avenue in me best skinny jeans, thinking I was summat off Sex And The City, and was stopped by a group of Japanese tourists to pose for a picture of what I thought was a photo of my rather alluring posterior, only to be disabused of this notion by having my attention drawn to the bright red knickers dragging along the sidewalk beneath the leg of said jeans.

Ah no. That's what you get for tryin' to get 'em off over your head after 6 Cosmopolitans and several vodka shots the night before.

Jaysus I'm off. The memory of that has brought on the hot flushes.

Happy ARF everyone and welcome back Christoffe and the Missus.

OH YES. Please welcome my brand spanking new great-nephew Zak, who hacked his way into the world 10 days ago and whom I have just met; and guess what. HE'S A GINGA!!!! HURRAH!!!! How marvellous. Well done Katie.

And fingers, eyes and legs crossed for our Rugger-Buggers.

I'm back - MWK and Debbie, thank you. The send off was beautiful and totally reflected the wonderful, vibrant, loving woman she was.

Debbie - be strong and feel us all behind you...

Nice to have CLP back tonight, and sadly Nev I can't think of any other than 'try' ones ('try a little harder', for instance) but how about 'on a winger and prayer'. Ouch, sorry!

Or 'you can't get me I'm part of the union'

D'you know what, I think I'll stop right there...
