ALRIGHT IT'S TIME FOR A MASS EXPERIMENT.

Chris Evans | 15:08 UK time, Monday, 25 February 2008

So Brucie swears by it and I've had a quick bash, how do you fancy...

.... reversing the ageing process, feeling generally amazing, having shiny haire, hair coming back that had decided to say bye bye and prolonging your life maybe for up to another three or four hundred years.

It's all based on a book entitled.

THE ANCIENT SECRET OF THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH.

It consists of a regime involving five excerices. All you have to do is make sure these are carried out every day for up to twenty minutes every day for the rest of your life.

It has been scientifically proven to give considerable health benefits.

No gym, no personal trainers, no more money to be layed out, no more anything just you and your amazing self.

I'm gonna start next Monday.

get your book, or go on line and try to fidn the excercies there.

CLP.

2008.

X.

P.s There will Be Blood, saw it with my mum and wife yesterday, v.g. movie, powerful powerful stuff.

P.p.s. Beth has her first streak of proper non-fluffy dog hair along the ridge of her back. A bit sad really.

Ah CLP, that's how I felt when I dropped off our little man to nursery for the first time. Kind of sad when they grow up whether they are furry babies or the other kind.

My eldest, by the way, joined facebook today and invited me to be a friend. Good idea or bad idea? Bless him, time will tell.

Had a bit of a dip recently with feeling bloody low and awful. I must do something really nice with little man tomorrow and sort myself out.

    Love to all

Lots of spreadsheets, phone calls and general officey stuff. Yep - think I'm gonna like it there!

Thanks to everyone who left good luck messages - I didn't brave the internet situation today - thought I'd see how the land lies before I go down that route!

Debbie - chin up pet. It sounds like the time is right for you to move to pastures new - and you've mentioned in previous posts that Mr Debbie has promised to support you in every way possible.

Debbie - thinking of you, praying for sunshine and blue skies to cheer you up :) I'm sure they'll come along once you're away from Mr Nasty. Hope your eldest has thought of the possibility that being able to see your FB profile could potentially be embarrassing?!

Had a quick look at that website (thanks DWNB!) and it looks terrifying!!!! Actually some of it looks very much like the class I do at the gym, which I can't do anyway due to having little or no balancing ability and a sudden dramatic loss of ability to do anything resembling sit-ups. The down dog I can just about do (grief I feel about 3 times my age). I intend to try the Phoebe-style spinning tomorrow and will report back on how many times I fall into the wall/chair/floor afterwards.

It's the 20 minutes a day every day for the rest of your life that I expect would be the killer. I have physio exercises that I'm supposed to do for pain relief and if I can't even muster the motivation to do them what am I going to be like with exercises that have no immediate benefit at all?!

    Just another manic monday :)

Right, off to waddle up the stairs (VERY full after a 25-hour-late sunday roast dinner) to lie on the bed and watch the Time Team special. What a perfect end to a day. :)

I like the look of the exercises. Sitting here at my PC I have all the best intentions of getting up tomorrow and giving them a go for 15 mins.

I'll probably do it. I may even continue to do it as I believe that the motivation for exercise is inversely proportional to the amount of money you spend on it. After all, I spent over £300 on a gym membership and became a regular visitor of the members only cafe bar (really nice latte)

To answer "A Viewer's" question about my link - I don't know if Chris has seen it yet, I hope so, it was made especially!

Sorry, dudes and duettes & Big Chief - stuck in meetings all day yesterday - thanks for the kind words, Red, (Claire??)who knows . . .

So, another weekend of new experiences; life, loves and happiness intertwined with cocktails, beer and the odd G&T or two. Walking through the streets of a prosperous Co. Tyrone market town at 2.00 in the Sunday AM, earnestly searching for an eager horseless carriage to whisk us homewards, conversation and thoughts drifted; meandered from the extreme to the ridiculous and eventually focused on past loves and missed opportunities.

A hazy sunny Sunday followed with a rather fruity rioja accompanying the afternoon roast, skill-fully yet effortlessly prepared by a loving mother, overjoyed having her handsome off-spring ensconced for the weekend; unusual in the extreme and a rarity, but nonetheless a welcome and pleasant, if brief, escape from the sprawling metropolis of Belfast.

Onwards and upwards for the coming week – back to the daily grindstone of the office computer, petty arguments and dodging egos . .

On a much happier note, a big thank you very much for my tune at the start of All-Request Friday – Huey Lewis and the News NEVER sounded better!! Mucho gracie . . big chief CLP . .

    Tuesday joke:

Sister Mary Katherine entered the Monastery of Silence The Priest said, "Sister, this is a silent monastery. You are welcome here as long as you like, but you may not speak until I direct you to do so."
Sister Mary Katherine lived in the monastery for 5 years before the Priest said to her, "Sister Mary Katherine, you have been here for 5 years. You can speak two words."

Sister Mary Katherine said, "Hard bed."
"I'm sorry to hear that," the Priest said, "We will get you a better bed."

After another 5 years, Sister Mary Katherine was called by the Priest. "You may say another two words, Sister Mary Katherine.
"Cold food," said Sister Mary Katherine, and the Priest assured her that the food would be better in the future.

On her 15th anniversary at the monastery, the Priest again called Sister Mary Katherine into his office. "You may say two words today."
"I quit," said Sister Mary Katherine.

"It's probably best", said the Priest, "You've done bugger all but moan since you've been here."

Dang the rollocks and splice the mainbrace I'm back.

And wait while I tell yous. the highlight of this particular trip to the spectacularly gorgeous Antrim Coast was I got caught in a shoot-out on the main road en route from Belfast back to Dublin!!! How exciting!!!

Well ok, I'm exaggerating, it wasn't exactly a shoot-out, no blood was actually spilt (boo) but guns and 4 police cars were involved, hands on deck, lots of shouting, lots of nee-naw-nee-naws, people bundled into back of van, etc., hurrah!

So don't talk to ME about your friends Starkers and Crutch, CLP, I was Daisy bloody Duke for a minute there. I'm only ragin' I wasn't taken hostage. Mind you, the daughter would have been very annoyed indeed if she'd 'ad a ransom note instead of meself this morning, and as the brother-outlaw pointed out (rather hurtfully I thought), it would indeed be bastard bad luck to be desperate enough to take a hostage, only to get me.

    Harsh but fair I suppose.

Now then Bingo. This CLP business goes back some years. I can remember because a) I'm an old trout and b) because my brain has a truly astonishing capacity to retain useless shite for years which makes me a godsend on the pub quiz team.

It comes from the erstwhile handsome, hunky and brooding French actor, Christophe Lambert, what with his dark and sinister broodiness, thick head of hair and his six-pack, you can see the connection to our Ginger Leader, and from thence morphed into Christophe LambPie.

And this ageing conundrum. It's simple. Forget wrinkle creams, the secret of youth is to remain extraordinarily childish.

Righty-o. Where's me sugar puffs. The daughter is due any minute and I have to stick 'em all over me face and tell her I've caught impetigo.

Hey, j, I've just dived back in after 26 years of happy marriage (sadly now a widower) as a fifty-something, and scary though it was at first, you soon relax and get over that pretty quickly.

I've been very lucky - I have now met someone via one of the biggest Internet dating sites that I really like (and who seems to like me, too) and feel comfortable with. It's still early days, but I do feel that taking the plunge was the best thing I could have done. I now feel that life is worth living again.

Don't expect too much too soon, though. Enjoy the journey... It's actually fun finding out how to date again, although REALLY scary at first! It made me remember what being a teenager felt like, and that was fun in itself.

So, my advice to you is "just do it" - but do take a lot of care. Don't believe everything you're told until the person has shown that they're worthy of your trust, and heed all the advice you'll be given about meeting strangers safely.
