BLOODY MASTERS.

Chris Evans | 15:17 UK time, Monday, 14 April 2008

Twenty to one it finished. Twenty to bloody one o'clock...

...Knackered I was. Not now, thank God but when I woke up this morning, yes definitely.

And here's the thing, I missed the end anyway because I flippin' well fell asleep. My wife had fallen aslepp one or two hours previously and she loves golf ! The dog was asleep as well. Most of the other competitors were asleep which is why it was all so dull and the rest of us fell asleep in the first place.

Favorite fact of the weekend. Arnold Palmer has spent more than a year of his life playing The Masters. how mad is that ?

Why do most people spend a hundred times more on their car what they do on their bed when we spend a third of our lives in our beds ?

Meeting a pal tonight who has lived life so wrecklessly he should be dead. Gonna ask him how come he isn't ? Will let you know his secret tomorrow.

Lots of love, looks like we're all still here, so let's get stuck into this week and see what we can get out of it. We reap what we sew, we reap what we sew.

    Christophe,

Afternoon all, Masters was very disappointing, I got all excited when Justin Rose (£5 to win) was in the lead and lost it all on the second day, then watched the highlights and Ian Poulter made a Hole in One and that was about it... No Tiger, no Growl, no ripping up of the course, GUTTED! Not that I am a massive fan of Tiger as I like to keep it local but I do enjoy it when he show us all how to play the wonderful game that is golf!

Hope everyone is well, and enjoy your week!

Op is tomorrow, at long last.

I tried to blog everyday last week but just couldn't squeeze it past the 502'ers.

Take care y'all, will try to post in the morning before I go to hosp.

Sorry didn't stay up to watch the end of The Masters - just heard the information on Wogan this am.

SK laughing throughout the stuttering song would be good to listen again to but stuttering for suffers isn't all that funny :(

Shirley: I'm getting a cat as soon as the mouse poison has gone. Just can't stand mice. The pest control man visited again and couldn't fill up the holes behind the washing machine because there had been 'activity'. Oh god save me.

Have cat basket, cushion, food bowl etc all ready but he's not coming back for a week. Can't wait to get away for a few days to Newcastle to see the Alabama 3. Surely they'll be gone by the time I get back.

    Big chief CLP,

Rightly or wrongly, i have made the fatal mistake of having a tv in the Bedroom - yes, its a sin and I know if I'm ever lucky enough to find true love, then tv and radio will be banished from this place of slumber and bliss - hence I also found myself drifting off to Augustan scenery last night - bigtime nothing happening. O well.

Other than that, good weekend - flew to Ayr on saturday for some air, and to look at a house, came back yesterday and enjoyed one of the cheapest rounds of drink in one of the local pubs - 2 G&T's and 2 white wines for £7 - O my GGs, beat that, anyone.
All good for a Maudy Monday - have a great one . .

I thought it was pretty good. At least it wasn't bored out by a Tiger performance. That would have been awful.
However, it is disappointing when the end of the tournament doesn't have a couple of guys fighting it out. I'll have to give dues to Immelman.

I just don't 'get' golf. Just like I don't 'get' cricket. In fact despite being quite sporty when at school I find it dull to watch now. What's all that about? Maybe watching it just isn't as exciting doing it?

I missed most of the show today, I just heard fig rolls being mentioned which made me giggle as I tried to get Mr Debbie some when shopping over the weekend but couldn't get any. Is there a shortage or something?

I can't believe how tired I am now that I'm not working. Maybe it's more draining tackling questions such as 'how do the clouds stay up there?' Not to mention 'how did I get out of your tummy?'

Off to bed soon, well once I have googled 'why does eating grass make cats sick'.

    Love to all

    Wot golf.........have I missed something?

No really, heard lots of others chuntering about the masters but despite, or perhaps in spite of, having trailed round St Andrews, Turnberry and Gleneagles as a reluctant caddy it just doesn't float my boat.

Can't wait to hear about your reckless pal. I'd love to live dangerously and wreak havoc , but now I've got the urge I'm too old and knackered to do it. May consider having go faster stripes on the old zimmer frame though!!

Hope Foxy's ear gets better - but can we not be too graphic about it tomorrow - I am planning a rather nice tea and as Foxy sez it could be a tad off putting. Parker says go with the hopi candles but watch you don't set you hair on fire!!

TTFN - Monday done and dusted already!

Oh - wimmins minute - men should know...................their place ;-) Failing that - how to work the washing machine and iron,,,,if they can find them in the first place!

    Chris,

Talking of spending money on beds.......my youngest (an extremely skilful negotiator) is making a claim for a new bed. Money's a bit tight to mention so am trying to stall it as (knackered) boiler amongst other things must take precedent.

I said to her " how much do you think your old bed and mattress inhibits your sleep?"

"Quite a bit", came her reply.

"Ok", I said "We'll cut out all chocolate for the next two weeks. If you are still not sleeping well, then we'll know that it's the old bed and the mattress that's the problem."

She replied, " well, the old bed and mattress aren't that bad mum"......

Good negotiators? It takes one to know one.

So at long last my surgery is today, it's been 17 months since the original problem which has now doubled. Both knee's are having arthroscopic medial meniscus repairs today (keyhole, cartilage repair) which means I'll be pretty well trussed up by tonight unable to bend either leg for a few days???

I'm nil by mouth and peckish already????

Thanks for the messages on here and the emails n stuff elsewhere x

    Hello all,

I must say, I'm with Debbie on the golf thing (and cricket and bowls and rugby...) In fact, I think football is the only sport worth watching.

And fig rolls? Urgh. I've never tried one but they look like dog biscuits and I usually associate confectionary involving dried fruit with hirsuite old women who trawl church jumble sales looking for homemade jam.

Good luck Gingembre; we'll be thinking of you.

Today may be a big day, going to see a possible business venture, a deli. I have no clue if i can get a loan and trying to get my confidence up so I dont feel foolish even asking! Please wish me luck!

I need to have a website so that I can sell some more of these cards that I make but I haven't got a clue where to start. Does anyone have any advice or know where's is a good place to start looking?
