BLOG THREE 80 3

Chris Evans | 12:24 UK time, Friday, 30 May 2008

So, sorry to ruin the...

...possibility of a record number of posts but am in early today.

Truth is I've been here since well before. Had the meet at the Beeb TV Centre this morn'. Now first off, got there way early. Left the homestead at 7 a.m. amidst the mist, meeting wasn't until 9.30 but you never know with the A3 the M25 and the A40, anyhow what are the chances ? No traffic, like none, none whatsoever. Arrived at rendezvous 8.05. One hour twenty five minutes early ! Possibly the earliest i've been for anything ever.

Pow-wow went well, very well. The new boss is very nice, very sharp and knows what "she" wants. More news as and when. By the way am printing off your thoughts to give to her, honest ! Keep 'em coming, although Brian's Got Talent is way ahead at time of print. Ha ha !

Now one more thing.

The TFI memorabilia is not a T SHIRT and is currently "in the move" so won't surface for a a couple of weeks. So tie your knickers down.

CLP.

2008.

X.

P.S. All Request first songs still accepted on this blog.

Yes but Chris, TV centre is a pretty cool place to arrive early and have unfettered access! I was there on a 'tour' the other day and was dying to just sneak off and see the bits they don't want you to see!!!

That is so typical- I always plan on leaving early to get to Manchester, and when I do there is no traffic and I arrive far too early- even before the cafe is open! But when I am on the last minute every car seems to be on the road and it takes forever to get there and I am late!!!

Can't think of a song, so will leave it up to someone with good judgement to choose!

    Chris,

Yes, it was quite wrong of me to assume it is a T-Shirt you have for Gingembre! Whatever it is, he will love it, that's for sure!

And you are right on the "Brian's Got Talent" suggestion. I have been saying for a very, very, long time on this blog - Hazel Love is sooo clever!

    Have a good weekend everyone.

AF - still thinking of you.

Everyone seem chirpy today. Lot's of flap jack recipes too.

After all your very kind comments re my situation I decided to rejoin face book. You see in my previous name Prof Plum I got barred for not having a real name. Anyway it Seems Face Book have also barred all my email addresses so thats it . No Facebook for me I am afraid.
I am on Wayn it seems where I can list all the countries I have visited with dates years etc. Now that would take me forever so I think I will just stick to You Tube.

Good afternoon one and good afternoon all,

I have been ex-blog absentia for a couple of days and so much has happened!!.....

    gingembre...how exciting!!!

It's great there are so many posts and posters (!) these days, but it makes it a full-time job to keep up!!!

I just typed a really long post ('thank goodness you erased it', I hear you all cry)
about a recent job interview that I went to, leaving loads of time to get there etc etc, in response to Chris' blog. However, I find some of my stories lose a bit in translation from brain to blog so deleted it!!

I seem to be devoid of inspiration at the moment - but still wanted to say 'hi' : )

Jules77 - I know that is obvious but i never thought of that! i have itunes and ipod (other music makers are available) but have never bought a track from itunes - I tend to get hold of the album cheaply and then convert it to mp4 or whatever fancy format ipod uses.

poor old spider - over the years we have lost many cats and each one leaves a hole in your heart - my parents lost their last two last year (daisy and tilly) and have not replaced them as the dog is getting on and has got very moody in her twilight years.

Might turn out quite nice 8-)

OMG...Brian's Got Talent! Am in similar state to Gingembre now...speechless etc (although all knees currently present and correct) and desparately wishing I knew a Brian either with or without any kind of discernable skill...

Anyhoo, Christophe, getting anywhere early, as long as you have time to do something lovely with the earlyness(?) is lovely...I have yet to arrive at my new job early, but then it doesn't matter because they're not like that! Is very cool to go home when I'm supposed to as well...instead of waiting for the last, last, person to finish their never-ending phone call etc...

Although I think once the weather (sorry, IF the weather) perks up, I may well be leaving home a bit sooner so that I can walk in along the seafront. Bliss and a half!

I'm SOOOOO hoping to get home for the start of ARF as I still can't find my ear thingy for my phone, but if I don't make it, I'll see you for the rest!

Blimey, its getting a bit crowded in here.

If you let me squeeze in, I'll only be a mo.

Very quickly then, yes, I too 'planked' this morning, went on to have a busy but generally boring day, I'm now back in Rudgwick Towers enjoying the first beer of the evening (always the one that tastes the best), before settling down to Ramsay's thingywotsit show (via S**+) and then either a couple of episodes of 24 or the movie of choice, possibly Manhattan.

    There. That's tonight sorted.

Tomorrow will consist mostly of precious little, interspersed with a trip to the gym and then a swift pint at The LI, assuming that the moat has subsided.

And next week? The Foos. Oh yes.

This time next week Rodders, we'll be rocking.

Or more likely stuck in traffic around the north circular.

    Have a good one.

    Peace etc

Ouch my head...must have gotten mugged last night as wallet is empty and head is sore:)

What a gorgeous day though...going to take some previous advice and head off to the south downs today.

Hey AF - I shall tell you what I do :)

I am the Senior (check that out!!!) International Officer for the University of Reading. I get to travel to some pretty far flung destinations (we don't do Europe) and meet students who want to come and study at my uni and (this is the good part) have to make them want to come to out university...how cool is that!!! To be fair there is some actual work that we have to do but it is all fun..we give talks at schools, attend exhibitions but you should see some of theplaces we get to go to...I know Hong Kong better than Reading!!! And as I am an amature photographer (here a plug my facebook group is Rob Aldridge Photography) this is even better.
The name EJR comes from uni when I always got the easiest jobs for the best pay and my mate Dougie coined the phrase and it stuck. It is my actual nickname too ...I love life it is soooooo cool

Have a good one all and see you on the blog!!!

EJR (yes it is and yes I am)

Just heard the funniest news story on the 11 o' clock bulletin on Jonathan's show ... police called to a house fire (somewhere in the West Country) to find the owners having an INDOOR BBQ because of the bad weather!!

    Love It!!!

MfR - where are the Foos next week? I'm dead jealous! Mr Diva wouldn't go again so soon as we've seen them a couple of times in the last 2 summers (Hyde Park and V Fest). I'd go to see The Grohl every weekend if I had my way!!!!

Tackled town early this morning and bought a new toaster. Just road-tested it with 2 slices, done to perfection! Yum!

Right, I'm going over to FB to look up EJR - cool nickname!

    Born To Run, baby!!!!!
