SWEET CHILD OF MINE, WELL OURS MORE LIKE.

Chris Evans | 16:40 UK time, Friday, 18 July 2008

Tash overwhelmed with the response to our baby dj news. Massive...

...flowers from the boss here at the radio land.

It feels ace, totally ace. People asked me yesterday if I was excited. Well I don't know, it's sort of more than that. It's totally everything. Yes that's what it is.

Alright, so thank you all for the bon mots, much appreciated. Girl on the sofa, very grateful.

Now on to the Great Enzo. It's been a while now and I didn't want to say anything but he has really been through the wars over the last few weeks. He really nearly passed on. A twisted gut. As if he hadn't been through enough. Fatal if not spotted and dealt with immediately and then...

Bye bye to the bad leg.

Yes. His rear left off. There was no option, it was his only chance of survival. I waited until now to tell you the news for definite just in case things went the other way.

Now though, he is hop-a-long-a-happy and should be HOME soon. Hurrah!

I think God may have given dogs four legs just in case they needed to lose one so they still had three left.

So praise be to all that's good. The Evans family is just about back in tact and ready to move on.

Meantime, Springsteen calls in Barcelona tomorrow, golf with the Royal Navy on Thursday, then back with you gang in a week.

Birkdale, Headingly and Hockenheim may play some part in the fun over the next few days as well.

Thanks again.

CLP.

2008.

Thanks for the update on Enzo. You must be so happy what with everything going on, newly baby, newly wed, newly home, and newly fixed dog coming to newly home.

    Not that you needed reminding.

SOOOOOOOoooo good to hear about Enzo, glad that he's hop-along-happy - I like that thought about God giving dogs 4 legs so that if necessary they could get along on 3! Means he's mobile, hurrah - and hurrah that he'll be home soon!!

  • Comment number 34.

    Greetings and Salutations from Vancouver,

Having read the commentary appertaining to the negativity being touted by a small minority on this blog, I can but add a brief thought.

When Chris announced the joyous personal news of his and Natasha's pregnancy, I am sure most us wished them the most hearty congratulations. For those who did not wish share the outpouring of support and well wishes, I would suggest that you have every right not to comment accordingly.

What you do not need to do is add vitriolic diatribes or deliberately obtuse words that are not in keeping with the truly magnanimous spirit that exemplifies this most worthy of forums. In short, we are all entitled to an opinion but with respect, we do not condone those who wish to vandalise this blog with patently nasty and irritatingly jejune outbursts designed to fragment rather than unite.

Life is short and to that end, we should celebrate the good, deal with the bad and do both with admirable honour and a communal respect.

I thank you and wish you all the very best of weekends.

    Dr. T

    Friends.

I have just tried to trawl through the past few hours worth of posts and in the end I gave up.

All this bickering is silly. I seem to recall we ended up in this state once before.

Well. We survived that, so we shall survive this too.

Either way, I am now officially on holiday.

Not actually 'away' on holiday (bar a couple of nights at the seaside), but nonetheless, 'not at work'.

I tell you what. An hour in and it already feels pretty good.

Have a great and peaceful weekend. Lets leave all the negativity behind when we log in here. After all, in one shape or form we all come here for some kind of solace.

Well, I do, anyway, and me makes me feel sad when I see old place in a mess, with cushions strewn all over, bits of crisps on the carpet and finger marks all over the windows.

    Chill out people.

    Love

Reminds me of the one about the Roman soldier who walked into a pub.
"A martinus, please barman" he said.
"Don't you mean a martini?" asked the barman
"If I'd have wanted a double I would have asked for one" said the Roman.

    Hi Debbie

Sorry I don't think I will be coming back and Ted and Jen if they have any sense.

The blog is ruled by a few and no longer is the friendly intelligent place it once was sadly.

    Eleanor

You have been funny and witty on this blog. I would like to see you back on here, back on form.

Maybe, probably, I am very naive. But I think there is something here for everyone. At times it's witty, at times quite deep.

Bring to it what you can.

    Wish you well
    Debbie x

  • Comment number 55.

Hi Eleanor/coco, hope you are okay. I think a lot of us are thinking of not posting to the blog. I personally am concerned I am not witty, interesting, unoffensive, offensive, serious, light hearted enough to fit with the various expectations of all the other bloggers. It's a minefield out here!
Anyhow. do you watch F1. I missed the British GP but am hoping I'll see some of the German one.
I wonder what music the beeb will use when coverage reverts to bbc1?

Thank you Debbie It was my intention to add a bit of satrical humor that's all really.

Did you used to present 'The Good Old Days' on the TV back in the day?

    Debbie x

PS. I really am off Eastender is on!

  • Comment number 68.

    This isn't a minefield.

It is a happy place where people who share Chris' outlook on life, and those that don't, can air their views on life, maybe share some of their own experiences, traumas or joys, on a daily basis, or simply now and then, when the mood takes them.

No strings, no rules, no membership requirements.

The only caveat is that most people here are big fans of Chris' and will take offence when anyone knocks him. But hey, it is his blog, after all, so that is to be expected.

I've been coming here from the start and I'll keep coming here until the end. Chris is a fine fellow and everyone here is a friend of mine (virtually).

    Be happy.

Oh wowser what a lot has happened in the last day or so.

Big congratulations to Chris and Natasha and also to Billie and Laurence - great news all round.

The first record choice was really rocking and I loved it.

I got the glasshouse contract job and start next week - coco you know the place I am on about.

Good to hear Enzo is on the mend and will be home soon - hope your new house is finished before the baby gets here.

A big thank you to all the bloggers for your support whilst I've been down, up, down and lost during my job hunt - you know who you all are.

Gingembre - Prince Charles meet wow you really get the kudos this week *gets on knees and raises arms up and down* :) lol

Mfr and all such lovely words.

Loads of new bloggers, please hang around and blog more you are all welcome here.

I was on the cava last night after watching the fireworks as couldn't drink alcohol until I got home as it was my mum's 70th Birthday (she doesn't look over 60 though) we had fish and chip supper with volunteers from RNLI branch and the crew brought the boat around for anyone to look over and ask questions - such heros.

    Hiya Matt,

Yes I ended up this week with 2 second interviews and an invitation from a MOD company to attend a meeting next week. I was in despair a few weeks back - weaping and feeling very sorry for myself.

The healthy place helped and the people on here were so supportive making everyone laugh with craziness - just look back at the red wine night. EJR's posts of his holiday in NZ awesome and made us think.

This job is a different path from the crossroads and I think will be challenging and certainly interesting, its only 6 months contract but might be extended to 12 months if all goes well.

Much appreciation to CLP and all drive time team and bloggers.

To all those lurking, I was like that and one day took the plunge and have never looked back, yes I am on FB but don't use it a great deal as the others will tell you.

    Where's AnnieG tonight then?

    And Debbie.

Sporting my 'Never Mind The.....' t-shirt, I feel strangely calm, and looking forward to 'me time' over the next few days.

It is important, isn't it? 'Me time', I mean.

Don't get me wrong. Mrs MfR and I are so damn close and in love, but sometimes a little time alone is a good thing. I'm thinking I'll take my bike out around the Surrey Hills, or maybe just run. Alot.

    Like Forrest.

Either way, we'll then be together for our trip to the seaside at Urb......

    Oops. Nearly divulged our destination.

Thing is, Gingembre has now changed his pic and it looks like he was on PYCR with Price Charles!!!
