DON'T STOP TAPPING, NEVER STOP TAPPING.

Chris Evans | 14:52 UK time, Thursday, 9 October 2008

Went to see The...

...Ting Tings last night.

Shortest gig ever at 49 minutes! Including encore !!!

Very good though.

Lots and lots of girls in the audience. A girl that attracts other girls eh, no easy feat. She (Kate) is an excellent performer, very everything. And the boy too, I quite like him. So they have a girl who all the boys want to £$%^ and who all the girls want to be, and they have a boy who all the girls want to %437 and who all the boys want to be.

But here's the thing, the balcony, was full of music bizz sages who "had" to be there. I suppose I have to include myself in this bracket BUTat least I tapped my feet. What is it, when is it, that people stop tapping their feet? If you don't tap your feet at a gig...YOU ARE NOT THERE. I don't know where you are but you are not there.

There were lots of none tappers last night. If you are a none tapper, I'm sorry we can never be friends.

Also, quick note, if you're going to form a band, what a good idea to just make it the two of you. When it comes to splitting the bootie one for you, one for me, one for you, one for me... Imagine being in UB40 for heaven sake.

Absolutely gorgeous day in London today.

ALL REQUEST FRIDAY TOMORROW...first song please.

Red Light Spells Danger has already been noted.

Here's the thing... CLP, if you like to bug someone’s home for no apparent reason, then leave them to get on with their life without a yay or nay. No current status as to the bugging, no apology, no righting a wrong. Just wanting to ruin someone’s life. Why?

Okay all I just wanted ter raise these serious points about the credit crunch.....

Sadly there's alotta people going through alot of 'ardship because of the situation at present. Am mean some people are 'aving their lives ruined.... just as an example....
Say someone working in a bank as cashier. For many years, they might ave put 50 quid a month out of their wages inter the company share scheme.
They might ave seen it add upto 10 grand in the 'and last year and been very 'appy... thinking they might buy a new car or ave a nice 'olidee. Only now ter see the share price of most of the 'igh street banks go down 90 per cent, including their bank.
So their 1o grand is now only worth 1 grand!!!!
And this an example of one of the lucky ones.. some banks ave been nationalised aka shares schemes gazump!
    Some people ave lost everything!
This is just one small example of the terrible 'ardship some are going through now!!!

I think we're 'eading for a severe recession with people losing their 'omes etc.
In some ways a bust period is a good thing as it cleanses the economy/ stop the economy getting ahead of itself.
It will make 'ouses more affordable for ordinary people with incomes and for our childrens future. But I feel very bad for innocent people who lose their jobs etc!
Ok some people may ave been stupid and stretched themselves buying too big a 'ouse just to "keep up with the Jonses".
Sadly the economy this time 'as been allowed ter get crazily ahead of itself all propped up on debt and false fundimentals!

So 'ow will this credit mess/ reccession sort itself out...... I don't know if it will!

The banks are the fuel stations of the economy.... if they've goot no fuel.... the engines noot gonna run - know what am sayin', know what am sayin'!!!!
If this mess gets so serious all the banks do collapse or what 'appens when the goverments run out of money or both?
In fact the British goverment is now by the looks of it way over stretching our economy too much!
Borrowing like crazy and too 'astily!
Something I wonder, can they just print more money?.... Maybe this is the only way to solve this perhaps worst financial mess the world 'as ever seen.
Or will it all blow over in a few years and just be in another bit of 'istory?
I think maybe not. I don't want to be a doom monger or over dramatise. I'm just looking at this situation... well as I see it right in front of me now!

All that's 'appening now fits in with The Bible and Nostradamus and indeed The Mayan Calender ending in December 2012.

Maybe this is going to be the start of world peace, the world as one.
If the whole world runs out of money, then maybe all goverments/ nations will be forced ter join together.
A kind of World order that all goverments sign... maybe to create one world currency/ economy and all finance starts again.
I know this sounds crazy... but what if all goverments really do totally run out of money... they would be forced to get together and totally start again, something unimaginable but the unimaginable is 'appening now.
This could be excellent for world peace as we all would be as one... all sort of tying in with The Bible/ Nostradamus etc.
A mean it would take something giant like what is 'appening now to make goverments stop wars and get together.
A mean look at 'ow the G8 didn't write of the world debt of Africa that the Live 8 concerts were about a few years ago. (only something like 50 billion dollors).
But my goodness.. they've certainly managed ter find way more than that at short notice ter prop up the banks.... it's food for thought what am sayin' ere.... know what am tryin' ter say!!!!!!

Yer know when they forcast the end of the world/ the return of Christ. It's never like in the movies or 'ow you expect.
It's not a asteriod slamming inter Lanzarote.... or a man with a beard and a Justin 'awkins 'aircut surrounded by a blinding light... na, it could just be the TSB or the RBS going bust along with the chancellor aving a nervious break down!!!!

A long and thoughtful blog commentation all... but whatta write could come true.... a mean a year ago nobody could ave imagined what's 'appening now.
Mind you I did but noot quiet as bad as it is now!

    Das veedanya blog friends!!!!!!

    Evening all

CLP I was listening to another radio show last night (was after 7pm!) and I heard the Tings Tings do an acoustic version of 'Shut Up and Let Me Go'. It was bloody good. I liked them anyway but like them even more after hearing them interviewed.

Anne, hope your son is ok. Mr Debbie found out about redundancies at work today (he works for an investment bank) and is still not home yet, so much going on. Not good times.

Good news though, I have another interview in a few weeks. I won't keep going on about it though and all of the good luck that I have been sent over the last few weeks will keep me going for a while.

Hi Chris...I'm new to all this blogging lark but I wanted to start all request friday because I'm 40 today!! (well if you're reading this on thursday then I'm 40 tomorrow!!)
I'm having a school disco to celebrate on saturday which seemed like a good idea at the time but now I'm beginning to panic that everyone'll bottle out...tell them not to, it'll be fun...honest!!
Anyway Chris, my song...I'd choose Katrina and the Waves Walking on Sunshine...cos I love it, it's very feel good and the sun has finally been shining. Me and my middle daughter Hattie often dance around the kitchen during drive time and this song would be a top one for us to dance to (hello to little daughter Boo and big daughter Lucy too, oh and husband Andy who is bravely coming out of retirement to do my disco, well I didn't want some young whippersnapper doing a school disco did I?? I love them all)
Thanks Chris, sorry about typing started the celebrations a bit early with a bottle of Rioja

    Hi AF,

Hope you've had a good day...

Hi there 007. Rubbish day to be honest, but I'm home, safe and warm, getting big cuddles from the cat and I've got friends and family who love me. So it's all good.

What's today had in store for the world's greatest spy then?

I'm here too - for a little while at least.

Annie - soz about your boy, and Deb- fingers crossed that all's alright for M.

MfR - if you nip back - good luck in C'chester t'morra chuck. Give us a wave as you pass thru, and we can clink glasses on Saturday.

Hey - we can celebrate new jobs on Saturday for Errol and Matt. Coolio!

Hello ThePresentMrsC - happy 40th for the morning. I was 40 in August and have had a ball every day since!

Evening Flower. Glad you're feeling a tad better than this time last week.

The Restaurant was good tonight. Although Raymond Blanc seems to be pulling more and more "Mr Bean" faces as the series progresses ....

Ooh, I've just thought of an ARF. Can I throw a bit of a spanner into the works and ask for Get Out Of Your Lazy Bed by Matt Bianco. Always used to get my toes tapping!!

Am I the only one who, after reading CLP's post, thought that maybe the Ting Tings ought to have written a few more tunes before doing a tour... Can't make up my mind about them, it all seems a bit... well, gimmicky. Or they could be the best thing since sliced bread. I mean, I'm no expert here!

    ps hi CtD :-)

Ooohhhh, hallo each. Nice to have friends on here.

Sorry, can't comment on the Tings Tings. Am still stuck in the timewarp of Dylan, Stones, Police, Queen, et al.

Or another ARF - E=MC2 by Big Audio Dynamite. That was fantastic too.

    Ok, done now!

I can't think of anything for ARF. Like 'London Calling' though.

Just watched 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' and it was really funny tonight. Stephen Fry is a legend is he not?

    Congrats on the interview BTW!

Hi AF, sorry your day wasn't a good one. At least you're home.

For me, it's the same old same old. Although the weather is decent. Blue skies, sunshine about 60 degrees. Almost ready to start my commute home.

    Hola Cristobal!

    ARF

First time posting, and hopefully it's a cracking suggestion...

Here's a suggestion for starting off this week's ARF.

    Torture - The Jacksons

It's pure cheese, alarmingly disco, but so very Friday night!!!

Thanks AF, feels good to be shortlisted again. It's a lovely restuarant too and I bet being a PA to a restuarant owner is a pretty cool job.

I am stupid tired right now but so wanted to stay up and watch Question Time. I'll do a LM and fight it for as long as I can.

    Nite Cheryl.

Off to bed soon myself. Half day tomorrow so I can get my gorgeous little boys from school at 3. Picking up man in cupboard later on for a weekend in the garden - he's tidying up the leylandi, weather permitting.

    Night, night.

007 that is so strange to read about you about to make your way home from work.

I talk to a friend living in Melbourne on FB and I think it's so funny that when I'm logging off and ready for bed she is laying in bed, chatting on her laptop and about to have breakfast.

    So have a good evening!

Haha 007, I've just got 3 Jeffery Deaver books for £5.70 too, so it just gets better! Safe trip home.

I'm for hitting the hay too, this cold has me very tired. But coming out the other side now, and hopefully tomorrow will be a good day! Wearing my optimistic pyjamas now :-)

    Night all xxx
