Afternoon Live From The Sofa

Chris Evans | 15:19 UK time, Friday, 22 January 2010

The gym - er, no to be honest ! Gonna give it a miss - maybe later but not just yet.

Having a listen again to this morning's show. Very nice mix of music - well done Helen Thomas and Jeff Smith. The music is so so important, and there must be plenty of it.

We are averaging ten records an hour, two and a half more than we did on Drive ! Also loving Lynn and Jonny Sports, they are very positive forces to have around...and of course then there's Lady M - you know who.

How about "Dame" Moira Stuart ? That has a certain ring to it don't it ?

I said it on Twitter earlier today, and would like to say it here - thanks so much for the deluge of "converts" to the new show, and the continuing good wishes.

Also TOGS, thank you for all of your best wishes. . .

Excuse me now but the Candyman's on, gotta go and dance around our spider plant - I knew it would come in handy for something !

CLP 2010 X.

    Chris,

I know I keep saying it, but I can't help myself - you have changed our entire morning routine, it's quite incredible! Even my lovely 18 year old daughter said this morning "I'm starting to see what you love about Chris Evans"!

Hope you, Tash and Noah have a lovely weekend.

    Love, Chrissie xx

P.S. If you bump into Nick/Gareth this evening - just remember his name is Gavin!

Just one thing can you play an elongated tune about 7.45, something like MacArthur Park (only kidding) so that I can have my shower without missing anything.

    Hello to everyone else.

Penny - just get some of the 24-hour antipersperant stuff. Shower on Sunday evening and that'll see you through till Monday night. It doesn't stain your clothes either, so you can sleep in them too!

I should charge for this service....

    Have a lovely weekend Chris.

Have just watched the Darts video - How much fun did that look!! You and Jonny looked liked you had a ball, well, you did! But how big are Barry George's arms?? Must be lifting all that bling

I had a real Dragon's Den idea the other day when I was reading this ere blog. You could get a selection of DJ's to record a load of generic links. For example, you could have an older gentleman with a mellow tone saying " and there's a classic track from an old favourite" and "something easy there to wake you up gently". Then the links could be downloaded to your mp3 player. You would then play them randomly amongst your own chosen playlist and voila, your own personal radio show. No nasty tracks that you don't like and always the DJ of your choice.

    Simples!!

Now, where, that Duncan Bannatyne when you need him

Afternoon 1 and all, have to 'fess slept in this morning! Heard Moira's dulcit tones and the first toon and promptly shut my little peepers and nodded off! Good job I made the sarnies last night or the little cherrubs would have nowt to eat at school.
Had a conversation with the kids last night and they came up with CYGNETS 'Chris's young geezers/gals not El Tel's' Waddya think of that?

Later peeps the darlings have arrived home - roll on the weekend. x

    Seza

You could probably use a podcast from STW - his correspondence didn't change much as there seemed to be endless innuendo (Clodagh excepted of course)

Add a bit about the M6 toll and M25 to the traffic for a bit of variety. Not forgetting a few trailers for your show....

Oh, before I go I would like to say that smoking is bad for you. Yep, you heard it here first. Just lit up and the lighter exploded in my hand and face. If anyone has a spare eyebrow or two, could ya send them on?

    Seza,

    Don't forget your listener contributions:

    Dear (insert DJ's name here).

    Love the Show!

Why is Ant of Ant & Dec called Ant and why is Dec called Dec? Surely as Dec is the shorter of the two, he should be called Ant and as Ant has the hairline of a man who has spent too much time standing on the bow of a cross-channel ferry, he should be called Dec?

    Can I just say:

Carl: you must, simply MUST start sending in these beauties to Chris! You are quite hilarious, as I am always saying.

MTD & Beez: I have to say that both of you notice so much of what is happening to everyone on the blog, and you are so supportive. I'm not saying the rest of us don't, but you know what I mean. I said this to you, Beez, in Liverpool.

To anyone lurking, I'm thinking of MC, Tinsel, Crumpy, hopefully Hazel and MTF: hope you are all ok.

    Have a good weekend, all.

    Evening Christoff!

I do hope you are taking it easy given the early start you have each day! Yeah, I know you've done it before, but your circumstances are different now, eh? I'm sure Noah is no where near the handful that our baby Highland Lass is, but they can be exhausting even when on their best behaviour!

Thoroughly enjoying the show, even though I have to wake up earlier than I normally would to listen!! I'm thinking I need to phone for the 'hello / goodbye' bit and teach you all some Gaelic! The team you have around you, as I've said before, are brilliant and a credit to the ´óÏó´«Ã½!

I'm really enjoying the show too, listening from 7.30 until about 8.45. I haven't been able to put it on from the start this week, due to Mr JG's shifts, but hopefully can next week.

Loved the megaphone this morning, so funny and moving!

Uncle Carl, didn't get chance to go on Mayonnaise's blog, been too busy at work the past few days, hence my absence. Was just lucky the spare five minutes I had was as the new blog appeared.

Seza, ours is a girl, which is what Mr JG asked for, we've known this one for a year or so, and the previous one for three years (she got to age 17, and her father moved them as he found work, so they came out of the program).

  • Comment number 96.

Having been a TYG (and more latterly a TOG having passed my 45th birthday!) I don't mind admitting that I was a little concerned about the change. I mean, I loved CLP on Drivetime - ARF blasting out on the way home from work, Fox the Fox, What's in the Locker, the D Spot - loved it all. I was concerned at how this would "translate" in to OMGitsearly time. I was used to a gentle introduction to my working day from STW, which woke me up kindly. Now I get woken up with a FIZZ BANG WALLOP! and the deliciously dulcet tones of Dame Moira. Why, oh why, was I even a little bit worried? I am lovin' the energy poppin' out of my radio!

My only criticism, if there is one, is that I've never liked the C Spot. Not the spot itself, but the song. I was always a fan of the D Spot - Deliliah sung in all languages and by a myriad of people - Brilliant!

Anyhoo, coming to the end of my second ever post on this blog. Keep it up, oh Ginger One!
