    Hi CLP & ALL...

    Bingo star 'ere...

CLP - Sounds like yer 'aving a blast... literally!!!!!!

Saw yer photos from this morning... looks like a great day to be had by all taking part!!!!!!
In the words of Judith Charmers.... 'wish a was there!!!!'

Actually a think it was 'wish you were here!!!'

And you are already there.... so forget what Judith said... what a mean is a wish a was there!!!!!!

Must admit though... seeing yer Ferrari Enzo up close at Wentworth was a special day for me!!!!!!
(Still not written about that marvelous day yet... i'll try soon)

Anyway... good luck all today... a know all will 'ave a MEGA day... well four days!!!!!!!

    Bye!

  • Comment number 3.

PS Talkin' of great days out.....

CLP - A heard yer mention yesterday morning that yer drove past Hyde Park & saw the BIG stage that is still there!!!
A didn't realise they leave it up for other gigs... with Kings Of Leon playing last night!!!!
Man would a love to go & see the Leon dudes wrock!!!!!!!

    A must admit i've got a confession!!!!!

On Friday I was going to get tickets for the Hard Rock Calling to see one of me favourite bands Pearl Jam... But as me new Latvian friend couldn't make it Friday due to her translating in a police cell (100% true).... I ended up going up to Hyde Park but not inside the gig... just for a nosey at the noise ready for Saturday & Sunday which a did have tickets for!!!!!!!
And do yer know what.... spending time chilling in the park..... it was nearly as good as being in the gig!!!!!!!!!

Let me try & take you there:

I arrived at Hyde Park around 4pm & the music was already blasting out all around the park from the main stage!!!!!
I could feel the excitment... the atmoshpere!!!!!!
There was about 6 bands playing on each of the three stages throughout the day so the gig was well under way!!!!
I walked around the permiter fence and ended up sitting on a deck chair that they have in the park by the Sepentine Lake!!!!!
The sun was out... must have been about 80 degrees and I sat there... sunbathing & chilled in the deck chair... watching people go by... boats on the lake.... I find it such a great city London!!!!
Here I was chilling in central London... but I could have easily been in the middle of the countryside!!!!
The difference though.... you see some interesting sights in Hyde Park... city folk!!!!!
From eccentric businessmen on their way home... on a pair of roller skates.... to foreign tourists checking out the park... ordinary people from working class to the very rich... they all seem to be there in the park!!!!!!
Young & old... people jogging, roller skating, walking, cycling or just chilling like me!!!!!!
I noticed nearby there was a couple sitting on the grass having a picnic also taking in the background music & the woman looked like someone... Either famous or a model... yer know when yer can just tell!!!!
A didn't know who it was but she was stunning & reminded me of Elle McPherson or an actress!!!!!
(And a swear this is true... I thought it was Elle McPhearson... and yesterday I hear she was on Wrightie's BIG Show... so she must be in London presently... SO... maybe it was 'er in the park!!!!!!)
Anyway... I was sitting there... only 150 yards from the main stage.... and I could hear every word that was being said on stage... with the music blearing out!!!!
American rock band 'Mary Mary' were on and they were mega!!!!!!!!
I just lay their... eyes closed... soaking up the sun with the music echoing all over the park.... this is a moment I will remember for a very long time.... man do I love London!!!!!!!!!!

Later Pearl Jam came on & I went for a watch through the main enterance... although they were in the distance... there were hundreds of us outside the gate... taking it all in while thousands inside cheered!!!!!!

Plus on Sunday when England sadly were losing.... while the game was on tv on the giant screens in the arena.... one of my all time favourite 80's bands were playing 'Crowded House!!!!!'
They sounded so, so good in the sunshine.... And it didn't take long for me to forget about England.... it sort of didn't matter..... the perfect place to be when the nations dreams of World Cup glory had been shattered!!!!!!!!

2011.... Hard Rock Calling... I 190% will be there!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Bye!

PS ALL Here is a clip of the best moment in The Macca gig... a was only ten rows from the front and nearly had me face singed by the heat of these flames!!!!!!
MEGA Gig... soz to go on but just wanter share the happy time with all!!!!!

Hi Chris: I only managed to hear the first hour of the show this morning, and it was absolutely brilliant. I hope you all have a fantastic time - taking the cars out of the equation, I wish I were part of it! xx

Bingo: lovely to see you. Sounds like you had such a wonderful time in the Park. I agree with you about London - I just love the place. It has an fantastic energy about it. Re: the Paul McCartney gig, I see what you mean! I am sure it must have been fantastic - I have a friend who saw him in Glasgow about two weeks ago, and he is still going on about it! It has to be said that Mr McCartney is looking fantastic - it's incredible to think he is 68!

Haven't managed to catch up with the blog from yesterday - hope everyone is ok.

    Chris,

Great show this morning, especially the mega-phone call - didn't realise Noah had the same middle name as my first name...you threw me when you played The Candy man though, as I thought it was Friday - and \i thought yesterday was Thursday, which didn't help!

    Artnoon!

Phew. Been a busy ickle bee for the last couple of hours - now enjoying my sarnie and a bit of a breather before it's time to don hat #2 and change chairs ......

Bingo, I've been to a couple of gigs in Hyde Park although extreme opposite ends of the musical spectrum: The Foo Fighters and loads of others in about 2006 and Barry Manilow at Last Night Of The Proms last year. To be honest, I think I preferred Barry as it was a slightly smaller arena. The Foos were naturally amazing but it was just such a vast space you may as well stood outside the gates for some of the (non)views of the main stage to be honest.

Well, I've really gawn and done it now. Feel free to have me committed or make me wear one of those special jackets for special people, but I've only joined the gym! Induction on Saturday afternoon, so, my darling FantasticRolastic, please be on hand with the Deep Heat and a lorra TLC!

    Afternoon all

Deev's - never mind the deep heat, its a nice long soak in the bath, with something fragrant (and I don't mean Nic), and the day after go for a walk or do something in the garden to keep those muscles going! ;)

Bingo - great post on your Hyde Park adventures, nice to have the real Bingo back on here.

GailyB - Loved the story of the run (from prev blog), hope you're not feeling it too much today.

Bit sad today as OH's auntie passed away last night - but at 93 I don't suppose you can complain. Although I may argue with that if I get to 92 ;)

    Cheers

  • Comment number 12.

LOL Andy. Nic always smells lovely! But then so does a nice glass of wine, which I love to relax with in the bath .....

Sorry to hear about your loss, but as you say, 93 isn't a bad innings.

    Afternoon Everyone,

I mentioned in the previous blog how much I enjoyed the show this morning but forgot to say that I drove to work with a smile on my face, again. The show really is a fantastic way to start the day.

Andy - I'm fine today thanks. I had a lovely lavender bath when I got in and a good night's sleep and I'm fine and dandy. Sorry to hear about the OH's auntie and I agree with you, I would probably argue the point if I get to 92. I hope your gorgeous childers are well.

Deevs - a good stretch after the gym will help loads and a warm bath (not nearly as comforting as some TLC from your gorgeous Nic but very practical). I always have lavender in my bath after I've had a run in the evening, it's lovely and soothing.

GailyB - off to try and catch up on some work before the weekend starts.

  • Comment number 14.

Deevs - Well if going to the gym has the same effect on you as it does on me, you'd better get the fire extinguishers ready!!

Well so far all is fab in my new place, the shower is just the right strength- not knock your socks off powerful but not so feeble that it takes 5 mins to wet your hair! Had a comfy night's sleep in my new bed, and a busy morning doing all the boring admin type stuff that comes with moving home! Feel like I spent all morning on the phone and still more to do

Hope everyone is having a great Thursday

    Hello Everybody

Just listening to the end of the show that I missed this morning - how clever is it to be able to do that!

Hopefully the out of area thing will not last for ever

Love listening to Canon Anne Easter, her piece this morning about Heaven being like one of those wonderful happy, noisy, fulfilling meals with all your friends and family around you actually brought a tear to my eye!

    Thank you

Think I need to go arrange my own little glimpse of heaven

Hello all, I watched as much of the show as possible, just brilliant, I know that radio paints a picture in the imagination, but so lovely see all involved in the show. What an amazing job the production team and outside broadcast girls and boys pulled together; can you begin to imagine the logistics of it all? They all deserve a massive drink and round of applause.

Hope you all have a good afternoon; i'm off to make something wonderful and amazing for the little mixtures teachers' for end of term, bad news is that I have no idea what that will be. Waiting for inspiration to whack me between the eyes.

Susan, if your lurking, I hope you are feeling a lot better; I had the same condition myself and was knocked sideways by it. Gan canny pet, and divn't let that nasty virus get the betta of yee.

  • Comment number 32.

Thanks for that SB, booze is a whole lot easier than some home made effort.

Susan, my brush with those spots was stress related, and is still a bit of a barometer for how wound up I am! However, one thing that works well for me is a good dose of sunshine, really seems to drive it back. Hope you have some sunny weather up north. x

  • Comment number 33.

can I have your opionion on a medical thing?

Ive mentioned this before, and I remember deev commenting and now I'm a bit worried

Over the last few weeks I get nose bleeds for no reason, and I never really got one before. I woke up the other night with one, I had one all day yesterday one and off and twice today and although its not life threatening it is annoying.

Now deev mentioned stress (which wouldn't be far off the mark) but if my boss thinks I cannot cope I will get sacked - any ideas?

  • Comment number 34.

    Afternoon all

I've been training folk all day, and my brain is now fried!

Baggy, I used to get a lot of nose bleeds in the summer - it was put down to high atmospheric pressure and made worse by high humidity - but it might be worth getting checked out!

I will have to listen again to the show as I missed most of it this morning :(

    JG x

  • Comment number 35.

Baggy, I used to get nose bleed fairly often and most often in hot weather - not sure why, they were more common at certain times in my life.

If you have had a nose bleed for some time it may be that you have damaged a little blood vessel in your nose and it is not healing. You may need to see your Dr to check this as it might need some treatment or do you have a drop in centre near you? might be easier to fit into your time

Hot weather really did set me off though, don't know if it's something to do with blood pressure

Did you get that Rips to buy you breakfast yet?

    Seza

  • Comment number 36.

    Baggy

The nose bleeds could be stress related or if you have sinusitis, can be related to that, as is a presuure release mechanism. I've had it like that in the past.

As others have said on here before you need to take some time away from thinking about the workload, which is not easy, but is necessary for your well being.

You've said already that your boss has said the job you're doing is too big for one person, so I'm not sure they'd act that drastically. After all they would then need to find someone or two else to do your job!

You know where I am if you need any help.

    Cheers

    A

  • Comment number 37.

JG - SNAP! We must be right!

Training other people does fry your brain doesn't it.

You need something cool and refreshing to bring you back to life

    Got to go

Need to get the next tennis champ to his leeson just in case Andy doesn't do it tomorrow!

    Seza xx

ps How cool was it this morning when the Red Bull man popped "just because he was passing!"

  • Comment number 38.

    What an afternoon!!

We drove past the Chewton Glen, I didn't think the David Bellamy disguise would convince the heavies on the gates, so...

We drove into the village and I guessed in which direction they would be coming through, and yippee do's, within a minute of parking up, I heard a roar!!

The sleepy little village came alive with lots of lovely shiny motors.

I was stood not far from the lollipop lady and a couple of the cars had to stop to let the school children cross.

I took what I thought was quite a few photos, but somewhere amongst the excitement, I ended up with a shot of a lorry instead of the red car, never mind, got a few of the white ones.

Thanks to all the drivers and their passengers, each and every one of them waved back at the mad lunatic of a woman that I turned into.

Followed this up by strolling down to the PYO farm with a pudding bowl to fill up with strawberries. One or two might just have been sampled as well.

Off to the jacuzzi now to sit and dream of life at the Chewton Glen, its as near as I am ever going to get.

They all looked so excited, what a great time they all must be having.

All for such a wonderful cause too.

Baggy, Andy's right. You need to step away for a while - can you take any holiday, even if it's just a long weekend. I consider you a good friend and would not want to see you crash and burn - I've been there and would not wish it on my worst enemy.

    Take care.

  • Comment number 41.

    Wow MTF - How brilliant!!

    JG x

  • Comment number 42.

Baggy - if your boss thought you couldn't cope, he'd have sacked you already. You're doing him a favour and from what you've said he knows that.

Take a deep breath and consider this. How much pressure is your boss putting on you and how much are you putting on yourself?

Do you know, I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed the opportunity to be ever-so-slighty sanctimonious every once it a while. Anyone else got any problems I can be self-righteous about?

  • Comment number 43.

Fair enough - I'll be off then!

  • Comment number 44.

Baggy - Sometimes you remind me of my mother, in that if you haven't got anything to worry about you go and find something. This is an observation, not a criticism. Listen to the good advice (particularly Cheryl's (biased? moi?!)) and take time away from work and things will get more in to perspective.

Baggy, so many people have given you so much good advice! I know it's hard to switch off, trust me I've been there, but you must! A poorly Baggy is no use to anyone ;)

Baggy, please, please listen to some of the advice from us older, sanctimonious bloggers. You have so much support on here - please don't turn into Nic's mum!! ;-)

Now, being woman, cars or any form of transport have no interest for me – just a means of getting from A to Z and talk of such machines bore me to distraction – but your enthusiasm is so infectious that I am excited and can’t wiat for the updates... have enormous fun Mr Evans... you will anyway...

Also, what great people – to contribute to CiN...

    To all

What a wonderful blog today... I’m lovin’ it...

Have managed to watch the video! Brilliant!

As most of you know I'm a real petrol-head, and absolutely love everything Ferrari....just wish I'd got the money!!

Although, Mr JG got sent a blank cheque in the post today, shall we save it to donate to a good cause next year? Methinks not...we are honest folk, but could have filled it out for £5mill and disappeared! LOL

Oh no Suzie, driving and our cars are my passion, I would love to have a Ferrari, even if it was only driven a couple of time a year!

Not like I'd have anywhere to keep it though!

And Lola Jay, we're trying to plan that again for next year!

So JG, what would be your ultimate car?

  • Comment number 69.

    Hmmm Seza....let me think...

Not too old, I'm not into historic stuff really...

Ferrari F40 methinks, or if I was going older, the Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing!

Neither of which I will ever own, and actually, I'm lucky to have the car I have (Mr JG has almost convinced me to keep it)! I will transfer it to him, and get a runabout estate to get to work!

Did you ever get a harness for Finlay to ride in the car with you?

Can just imagine him sitting there with his ears flapping!

Aw Baggy bless you. Well now. In my capacity as nurse Kathy Bates, mother and all-round Know-It-All, I can tell you that nose-bleeds can indeed be a sign of stress or high blood-pressure. It can also be a hormonal thing; more than likely it's all three.

On the other hand it might be nose-pickin'. So as my aul mad Granny used to say, 'Come down from there. You look like you're hidin' a piano.'

And then there's how Louise L. Hay sees it as in You Can Heal Your Life;-

Nosebleeds: A need for recognition. Feeling unrecognised and unnoticed. Crying for love.

Affirmations: I love and approve of myself. I recognise my worth. I am wonderful.

And let me tell you something that is irrefutable, my dear.

    You ARE wonderful.

No not yet, although I've saved the link...we've not had chance to anywhere worthy of it, and I've never managed to turn off the seat-belt thing despite Beez's instructions, it didn't work on mine!

Normally I take him in Mr JG's Audi, and take the parcel shelf out! And as my Air-con has finally given up the ghost, I might stick with that option!

Seza, what an image. Is there a funnier sight than a dog with its head outa the car window with its ears flappin'?

Hahahahahaha you, me an' Noel Gallagher have that much in common!

    C.xx

  • Comment number 74.

Hiya Clodagh, yes I had a lot of nose bleeds that were hormonal at a certain time- it wasn't nose picking promise!!

Mind you, the most spectacular bleed I ever had was when my Mum told a neighbour I had my nose in the book as usual. My brother decided to demonstrate this literally and shoved the hard back book hard into my face!! Cue bleeding that lasted most of the day!!

I've never let him forget that!!

  • Comment number 75.

Clodagh, never thought I had anything in common with Noel Gallagher!!

    Who knew!

    xx

  • Comment number 76.

Oh, I used to get spectacular nose bleeds, would last for hours, even days! Used to go to bed with a towel over my pillow (apparently that was easier to wash?)

Actually, I was always so congested almost all the time, I'm now happy it's been recognised as hayfever!

    Hi Chris,

I went into the office this morning with great plans of catching up on emails and all that.
I don't think I ever believed that this would happen - as soon as I got in, I tuned in to the live stream and was lost to you and the team.

A: What a freaking amazing home you have, I haven't dared to show the CMM your garden yet.
B: Watching you do the show, you seemed stressed and uptight at the beginning (I could only see this, when I just listened - it disappeared).
C: When you mentioned recently that you had sold all of your Ferraris my heart sank a little. I thought that the way you had gone about collecting most of the finest of Enzo's creations, in white with the no plate connection was typically inspired. It must have been tough to see them all gathered in their purpose built stables again - only to then have to wave them all off.
D: Thank you, for giving the 250GTO a run out. If that car is the reason you sold the others - it was a great decision. What a beauty!
E: I've said this before and I'm about to say it again. What a top bloke you are to spend so much time and effort making this dream day out, happen. You and the team should get a medal for it.
E: How fantastic to see the Beautiful Mrs. Evans making the mega - phone call with the wonderful Noah. He may look like you, but boy does he have his own spirit! He may need to work on his timing though.....
    F: Enough of my ramblings.......
    G: Well done all!
    H: Hells Bells is gorgeous!

Hi everyone else, hope your blogosphere is clean and uncluttered.

    Morning all

Feeling a bit weepy this morning - had a weird dream about leaving next week (it involved people from work, R2 and bloggers - what was that all about...). I suppose it is finally dawning on me that, after next week, I will not be coming back here to work. I am not going on holiday nor will I be off sick. After more than 18 years it will be strange. Still onwards and upwards as they say.

From today's show, I loved the Stig megaphone call, classic and I absolutely adored the 8.30 news (I'm glad I was a bit late so caught it) Noah is a star in the making (I realised it must have been him by the giggles) and I am looking forward to seeing the video when I get home away from the internet police.....

    Laters.

Chris I just want to say BLESS YOU.

What a fantastic, awe-inspiring, hilarious and generally brilliant couple of days you've produced here.

Thank God, or the Universe, or whatever, for unique spirits such as yours, spreading and sharing inspiration, happiness and love around for so many to share. I know your reasons may be many and complex for this philanthropic act; but sharing your own good fortune around is a truly unselfish act; it's that simple.

It's at times such as this, when I'm feeling inexplicably down in the dumps, that you shine sunshine and warmth into my life and make me realise the world, and the people in it, can be such a beautiful place.

Thankyou, my..no, OUR friend, for I know I speak for others here; you are a total star.

    Love and respect as always.

MTD, I know exactly how you're feeling. I too feel a bit deflated today, mainly down to my own stupidity but hey ho! Hope your day improves. I shall just head for the wine rack when I get home later.

Only heard about an hour of the show this morning and missed the mega phone call as was doing stuff around the house before work.

Baggy - are you out there? Can we have 3 rings please .....

    Laters, probably.
