Finally sat down after a veeeeerrrryyyyyy long day!

Had an eye test today and found out that not only is my short-sightedness getting worse, i am also getting long-sighted in my old age!!!

Pretty soon, there'll just be a little gap in the middle where I can see a bit!

Maybe we can plead to the blog powers and ask for 500 back pleeeeeese!

I went the other way Sezza - long sighted and then short sighted as well - varifocals are the answer, they take some getting used to but are better than having to change glasses for driving and reading etc...

I sent the boys txt messages this morning to say I'd had a message from the school to say they were absent and they had to go to the office to say they were there!

So I had them running round school - result - but apparently the office were trying to work out why I had the message so there's maybe a confession there at some point!

Another new blog, how cool.

Chris I will be around to see you celebrating your 90th, my 94th will be just a couple of weeks later.

Eyesight? Mine is dreadful now, some days are better than others. Tbh, I was ok until I got my first laptop then I had to get some low strength reading glasses and gradually built up to 2.5 which I seem to have stuck at for some time now.

I find my worst habit has become squinting when the light is bright, for some reason, my eyes are very sensitive to light and any photos I have taken (which I do my best to avoid!) makes it look like I have no eyes!!

I know if Scoobs is around that she will be telling me what I should be doing about this so, as a birthday treat, its off to the 'Should have gone to!'

Well, I am pleased to report that after the occasional spotting of swallows, that they have finally 'arrived!' The Levels looked so beautiful today, and the swallows were taking full advantage of the abundance of midgey flies and enjoying a veritable feast.

I arrived home and as I opened the car door, was greeted by some very loud honking and looked up to see two huge geese flying just above my head.

It sort of kick started the weekend off nicely and I am now going to sit down and enjoy having the place to myself for the evening.

So, the usual has been opened and I say.... Cheers me dears :)

Evening all

I'm collapsed here, armed with a well earnt tipple. Today has been long. Very long. (Only) 11 hours at the grindstone today and in my wisdom (and colleague's absence which looks likely to last longer than we hoped) I volunteered to go in again tomorrow, as we haven't even started jobs which are normally done by the end of the 1st of the month. Half a day tops tomorrow though, it is after all the weekend and I have sewing to be done.

Hope CLP and other birthday people have had a good day today. Didn't notice any pranks today, too busy trying to find my desk under last month's paperwork... it's under there somewhere....

Morning all (or afternoon if you're being picky ....)

Well it started grey and murky here but now the sun's out, the windows are open and all's good with the world.

Nic's had to go to work this morning so I took the opportunity to head towards Tamworth for some retail therapy. I am now the proud owner of a pair of walking books, several pairs of walking socks (how much ££££?), some lightweight trousers for walking, a bright pink waterproof packAmac thingy (well we are going to The Lake District ...), 2 new pairs of jimjams, some new undies, and some normal socks. Also almost threw up in a well known chain newsagents reading the verses in Mother's Day cards .... bleugh!!!!

Home now, and about to start assignment 2 for my course with the aim of emailing it in to the college on Monday.

Have fantastical weekends one and all.

Afternoon all

I'm about to settle down to some sewing. Have had a healthy dose of exercise walking to and from the grindstone (it's just under 2 miles each way) and feel better about having made an effort to catch up there, we're all ready (well, as we ever will be) to start the statement run on Monday... yes, more paperwork to hide my desk under! Think the walking has done me good too, having blown away several cobwebs (and messed my hair up). At least it only rained while I was working!

morning all

well, what a productive day, I had an induction back at the gym to try and kick start me into going again and used the power plate for the first time and then not only have we done a coat of pain in the bedroom, mr bp has rearranged the kitchen cupboards and built more shelves (ok I can't find anything now) and I have burned a load of CD;s to the ipod.

and we have decided to treat ourselves to dinner out tonight :-)

I have also made a descion about the jungle that is my garden and have a man coming roung next week to clear it - woohoo

MTF: I've run a comb through mine now, so I think it's only fair before any comparison of hair-dos that you do the same. Hope you're winning the garden battle.

I see Baggy has been a busy bee and MM is as easily distracted as me. I only came online while I had a drink so I don't spill it on my sewing... Had a mini choc ice earlier (figured I'd already walked it off) and managed to get a blob of dark choc on my white top, so I'm staying well away from the sewing with anything food or drink wise.
