It's 11.09...

Chris Evans | 13:02 UK time, Wednesday, 23 November 2011

...on Thursday morning, and I have just spent an amazing hour in the company of Theo Randall. He very kindly stepped up to the plate (literally) to help me practice cooking deep fried ravioli for this Saturday's Saturday Kitchen. James Martin says it can't be done (by me that is). Well at least now, after Theo's help I stand a fighting chance.

Going home to have several thousand more goes. I would love to crack this live on telly. Probably won't happen but here's to giving it a go.

Theo - you are a God.

You've just taken over from Tom Chaplin in my top three men.

Peace and Love and stretchy pasta.

Hi all from a snowy Upstate New York.

Good luck Chris with your pasta, it sounds yummy but hard work.

I too have been watching the Choir and it just gets better and better. I will be buying the single and supporting you lovely ladies.

MarineMrs Congratulations to all of you, you're truly inspirational and very brave. My son is waiting to go into Sandhurst and I'm so proud of him, although obviously apprehensive.

Have a great day and keep safe.

    Afternoon Chris....

Good luck with the pasta, I struggle with pastry so pasta may be beyond me!!

Good, good news about the Military Wives Christmas single, I'm sure we can get it to number one - and probably crash whatever site we buy it by all buying it at the same time!!!

The boy is home this afternoon, so once Scoobydoo has finished we've off for a puddle finding mission in the woods behind the house!
I may even force the stressed t'other out for a walk too before he books his flights to Switzerland! Another funny thing last night, we finally got the money back from CERN for the last time he went over.....in September!!

Awww CLP, the joy of making your own pasta. Are you using one of those magic pasta rolling machines to get a nice thin, even material with which to work!?!?

    ;-)

I've had an exciting morning. Plumber came. Diagnosed dishwasher as officially dead. New dishwasher ordered pronto and it'll be here and installed tomorrow. Phew!

Also targeting local businesses who may benefit from my business brilliance! lol

At some point this arvo I have to make a rich tomato/garlic/basil reduction for the meatballs to be cooked in later.

I might even go for a swim after dark, if Himself gets away from work at a decent time.

    That's Amore!

    It's Wednesday not Thursday right?
Was about to post this on old post then realised there was new post!

Rips - I nearly had a blub on Friday - there was a lady who called up to make the dedication to herself - she'd been back to uni for the first day having kicked cancer! Rock On!

AnnieOakley - I caught nits from a darling child at church (or from someone at the bible camp I'd been to for a week) a few years back - I actually cried! Stood in the supermarket absolutely mortified that I had to ask for nit shampoo to get rid of the little pesties. I missed church and stripped the bed following scrubbing my head - I'm surprised that Mr Han wasn't freaking out either lol. He was chilled while I freaked!

Parents Evening was yesterday - basically all is well, the teachers noticed that Master Han is happier and more settled now he's with us (TICK!) His reading age is a little bit lower than it should be (11.03 but it should be 12.00 or 13.11 by the end of the year for him to be on target) he doesn't ask for help if he doesn't understand so he needs to stick his hand up and ask rather than waiting it out til someone notices.

Turns out his English teacher is the Mum of one of my friends from school, his Maths teacher taught me for DT and his French/History teach taught me for French/History/English and was my form tutor. I bumped into the HOY5 and we chatted about how I was an ex-pupil - I even pointed me out in the Year 8 photo - Master Han didn't believe it was me at first lol

  • Comment number 13.

No harm to you but deep-fried ravioli does not sound good . . .what about scampi and chips, doesnt have to be fancy, just good triple cooked tatties and proper fish. Forget the ravioli - far far too risky - lifes not worth it...

(PS Ask James about drinking with my good friend Brian in Barnabys over 'ere in Norn 'Irn)

  • Comment number 14.

Aw GirltaristHan, I've been feeling scratchy ever since I read about brightAnnieG's GS's nits... and I think I'd have cried too if I'd caught them! So good luck with the hairnets etc on Friday Annie!

V glad parents evening went well, your little lad is definitely in the right place!

Back to the email chaos, and closer to Choir Time...

    Greetings CLP & ALL...

    Bingo Star 'ere...

Am on a bit of a downer terdee, am not depressed or suffering from clinical depression.... Basically ave booked some precious 'olidees off work at present and a was mean't ter be in Thailand with me nice girlfirend.... But due to the severe floods there, that's barely making the news.... Ave 'ad ter canel me trip!!!!!!
Close ter 600 'undred people ave died with a 5th of Bangkok under water!!!!!
Is this another sign of global warming????
    Maybe... maybe not!!!!!

Obviously ave got it nowhere near as difficult as the people in Thailand losing their 'omes and sadly even family members!!!!!

But being positive... A thought ok a will use me time off work after the CiN gig ter do alot of work on me 130 year old 'ouse!!!!!!
But terdee am VERY bad with a throat infection and shivering/ weak all over!!!!!!
Maybe a touch of light flu!!!!!!!!!!

Ave just spent 24 'ours in bed a me 'ouse in the only room that's liveable in!!!!!!!
'uddled in bed taking stuff ter try and kick this illness... And am still recovering from me back injury.... Although twinges and gotta be carefgul not ter aggrivate it again, thankfully it's 95% better!!!!!

Anyway am feeling down as me 'ouse am doing up is like a building site, no 'eating or 'ot water.... Rubble everywhere.... plaster 'alf off the walls.... floor boards up everywhere.... And ave got me rising damp problem which is making the 'ouse colder inside than it is outside!!!!!!!!

A wanted ter get me 'eating & 'ot water sorted before winter.... But it ain't easy working alone in me freezing/ damp 'ouse!!!!!!!

And what with a period of illnessess it's all going wrong!!!!!!

In fact terdee ave relaised am not gonna get me 'eating in before winter sets in!!!!!!!!

A kne wit was alot ter take on when a got the 'ouse... But a like a challenge... And whatta wonderful 'ouse it will be when ave finished..... But presently terdee... It's just 'it me... And am at an all time low point since a got the 'ouse!!!!!!!

Ter add insult ter the mind.... Ave bought tickets ter go & see me 'ero Chris Martin perform in London termorrow!!!!!!!!
A just 'ope a can get mesen sorted by termorrow.... A nice soak in the bath followed by some accupunture later 'opefully will do the trick!!!!!!
Ave 'ad accupunture before and it's like magic... she turns up me immune system & anitbodies/ antitoxins... And normally the next day am greatly improved.... Fingers crossed all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Tatty bye bloggie pals!!!!!!!!!

Ah Bingo, I know how you feel!

When I moved to Wales in 2005 to t'other's 'house' it had no heating or hot water, in fact I all I had was a cold tap fed from a garden hose, no sink, and a toilet held up by an acro prop!!! Not to mention the lack of ceilings and only half a floor upstairs...............

We had such grand plans for that place, but with t'other being away so much and then the boy arriving it never got finished - although I did have a functioning bathroom by the time the boy was born in 2007!
We sold it this time last year as even less was being done once we moved down here and although I loved that house and it will be beautiful when finished, I'm not sorry it won't be us doing it!!!!

Don't really know what to do with meself today - we've moved into that limbo bit of booking flights and hotels and then just waiting, and waiting , and waiting!
And no-one seems to be hungry so I can't cook to keep occupied!

    Hi all

Just a quick one from me tonight. Saw the last episode of the choir thing last night (tears rolling etc etc.). Heard the finished record this morning (didn't really register yesterday for some reason) - (tears rolling etc etc - not a very good idea when trying to drive to work.....). All I need now is to learn how to download......I'm fully behind the campaign for the Xmas no one.

I've just stopped scratching after the nit story LOL.

Welcome newbies, please stick around - we're all quite nice don't you know.

    And hi to everyone else:

First of all, just to say to Marinemrs: sorry to hear your husband is going away again. I can imagine that this is where all the support from the other ladies will be so welcome.

Bingo: you poor wee thing, you are going through the wars. I hope the acupuncture has helped you - I know that it has been a miracle cure for me in the past. And what a shame you had to cancel your trip to see your fiancee - you must feel everything is against you at the moment. Hang in there, better times are coming. xx

Annie: see? I told you the stuff on the market for **** (daren't say the word) is fantastic!

Sezza: bless you for all your efforts in finding out when we need to buy the single! I shall be making my purchase on Saturday 17th December!

Can I have some good day vibes please - could do with them at the moment.

I haven't heard the choir song - if only he could play it before 8 in the morning I might get half a chnace - or before 7 on a gym day would be nice! Still anything to keep x factor of the number one spot is good with me!

Enjoy Mr Young LAB I must admit I am liking his new stuff quite a bit.

Mr Evans I need to have a stern word with you, you did it again I was driving when you played the song and I had to turn it down so I couldnt hear the words and start blubbing whilst on the M54. I really need to get a back bone if this does make it to Number 1 in December I shall be mostly spending the month in tears.

Today is going to be a good day (apart from the boss man making a visit today, once a week isnt too bad I suppose).
