Dear Mr Christoph Evans of Radio 2 Land,

Firstly Sevenoaks is in Kent and not London.

Secondly it's pronounced Gill (as in the girls name) - ing - ham.

And thirdly and most importantly - Boris Island

The Thames Estuary where they plan to build this new airport, isn't a piece of land just waiting to be built on. To do this they would have to completely flatten the small village of Grain, which is out there on the Penninsular. A village which is home to many hundreds of people, a really thriving community and also home to some of my friends.

The charity that I work for spent many hundreds of thousands of pounds turning a disused chapel into a community centre; which now houses a library, an IT centre and is host to lots of other things. I have had the priviledge of going there to present certificates to residents who have completed IT courses, most learning how to use a computer from scratch.

I'm off my soap box now and I apologise for the delay in sending this, got distracted by having to sign lots of cheques!

Although RAF would be most nice.... except for the dropping bombs bit on people... A bit a couldn't do.... And secondly a don't think a could take the severe g-forces.... Although with anything yer do get used ter things after doing alot!!!!!!

And although with anything moving it always looks more dramatic from the outside than if yer on board the moving anything in question!!!!!!!!

From a turck ter a train ter a plane.... Looks loud, powerful.... noisy from the ground... but in the driving seat.... in the carriage.... in the cabin.... It's all more slower.... calmer!!!!!!!!!
Although am not sure a could eat a BA meal and drink a Virgin Trains cuppa tea whilst doing loop the loop in a Red Arrows T1 'awk - know what am sayin'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting back ter yer most nice blog above.... A agree everyday a sunny blue sky is only 2,000 ter 10,000 feet up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS Quick update on me new old 'ouse... Nearly finished drilling me walls. and amazingly am still on me original drill bit after 6 'ours of drilling 'oles inter me walls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A bought 'alf a dozen not being sure if they would be enough as usually a burn out me masonary drill bits.... and after reading on the net aobut 'ow ter do a dmap proof course it says 'you'll need plenty of spare drill bits!!!!'

Me secret ter lasting success with a drill bit:

1 - Buy a good quality one!!!!!!

2 - 'ave yer drill on 'ammer setting and 'igh speed is a no no no!!!!!!!!!! (too fast creates friction and will burn out yer bit... It needs ter grip and chew through the brick/ masonry!!!!!!! But not too slow either!!!!!)

3 - Me biggest tip.... A drill abit of the 'ole then a keep the moment a see abitta smoke off me drill bit... A dip it in cold water in a bucket (obviuosly only the end/ drill bit... Not the whole electric drill.... Or it will be you and the whole drill smoking!!!!!!!!!!!!)

And amazingly.... (In fact am amzed mesen that's why am writing about it)... Yer drill bit will last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Afternoon all

Keep getting a break of sunshine followed by the grey cloud covering the sun then the sun boosts its power and breaks through again.

Chippie tea last night was really nice, he cooked the fish for me when I went in and it was delish especially as he didnt put any salt and vinegar on it and I could get it off the grease proof paper without using me fingers.

Home made curry tonight made last night and marinading as I type.

Lostalib - I love flying but I have to be honest do we really need another airport especially down at the estuary. Considering prices are going up on flights and you need to have your own banking system to pay for a flight nowdays and the holiday companies seem to be struggling it isnt worth disrupting so many lives just so Borris can get an airport named after him. I'm with you kiddo.

Its thursday and friday eve.... I hope that this weekend is not full of nasty surprises and is slightly more relaxing then last weekend.

Think a trip to the allotment is on the cards on Sunday.

Hello CE & Everyone.

Very heavy rain & wind here this morning and I thought to myself 'I'm not going out in that!' but when it stopped and the sun put his hat on off I went. I was blinded by the bright sunshine on the wet pavement. We shouldn't complain though here in Britain we are very lucky compared to some places. No tsunamis, tornadoes. droughts, etc.

Boris airport is just wrong, we don't need it and it doesn't have the same ring to it as John F Kennedy or John Lennon airports. It sounds silly and it is silly.

Thanks for your support, I think the people out there on the Peninsular have a big task ahead to stop it being built :( With the cost of things going up and up, we probably won't be flying as much in the future, so why build another airport?

I've just thought about the stew that I have defrosting but then remembered the pile of ironing too!

I think we've had everything from sunshine to showers here today! Hasn't been too cold though

MTF, I'm so pleased we haven't had any white stuff yet! Not safe yet - it is boy2's birthday next Saturday and it has rained then a few times! I think it has been so mild that if it does snow, it won't last long!

Ali, That's a different view to the one being trumpeted at the moment. There are always so many people affected by these things and we never hear about them. It sounds like a real pie in the sky plan to me so I hope your community will be safe

Grey skies but warm hearts... I love every day here on planet earth! Although I must admit those cold frosty mornings last week were just stunning; every twig and leaf covered in sparkling white!

Apologies for my absence, I have been lurking.

Happy New Year to one and all. Not a wonderful Christmas & New Year for a couple of close friends. So have been supporting them. Both will never get over their losses but they do seem to be turning a corner.

My news is that I have been chosen for Jury Service in early March. I'm sort of honoured, sort of nervous and sort of excited. Mr PJ has done his 'duty' twice but I never have.

I have a family engagement party - my niece gets engaged in Warrington tonight - so I'm getting my glad rags on.

Weather here at Chester is dreadful. It was blowing a gale and rain/sleet last ngiht got soaked just walking to my car. Same again this morning I can hear the rain on the hangar roof.

Hoping to make it to my 'lotty' this weekend - first time for several weeks. Sure those pesky weeds have been taking advantage of my absence.

Grey and mizzerly up darn Essex today. Not sure we're going to see any sign of the sun but we will not be down hearted!!

Loved listening to Sir Patrick Stewart but, oh Chris, did you have extra frothy coffee this morning or was it the thought of spending the day in reverse? You were so hyper and over-excited - just calm down and it'll be fine!

Nothing on the calendar this weekend - at least nothing I know about!! I do need to make a 13th and 40th birthday card though - my little brother is 40 and my baby boy is 13 - all within 2 days of each other! I'm going to need therapy!

Btw, is a R2D2 memory stick a suitable present for a 40 year old boy? ;-)

A cheeky FNWC seems in order I think - any takers? Anyone seen the key to the hot tub recently?

Sezza, I agree with you Chris seemed very hyperactive this morning and at one point I did think he was a bit rude to PS, but perhaps that was just me. He also said that Sevenoaks was in London again - it's not it's in KENT!!!!!

I too have nothing on this weekend, after working 11 hours last Saturday, I plan to put my feet up. I might even clean my oven, which is long over due!

Thank you all for your kind words and support xx It's been a decidedly pants year so far but we seem to be over the hump and for the moment things have calmed down with events and deadlines having passed. Phew ...

Bids - even as recently as Wednesday I felt like an elastic band that had absolutely no more stretch in it. Thankfully that has eased slightly and of course you're right - we come through these things just that little bit stronger than before, even if it definitely doesn't feel like it at the time! xx

'Im indoors has a couple of days work today and tomorrow, which has boosted his morale, and he's applying for literally anything and everything, so I'm sure something will turn up eventually. I remain ever optimistic!

Well it's grey and raining hard here , one of those days where you know it's just not going to get any brighter or lighter.
My one and only umbrella is in the boot of may car , which is two miles away from where I am at work. I had fancied a bit of a walk to the garage after work, but it will probably be closed by the time i get there, and i will be soaked. So I have booked a taxi , which seems highly decadent to me, as i drive everywhere !

Not much planned for the weekend,

Just listening to Paddy talk about old photies, funnily enough I have been doing the same thing recently after the passing of my nan. Mum was showing us the old photies last Friday and some of you who are on facecloth will have seen the one I posted earlier this week of little ole me aged about 18months.

Loving the old memories people are talking about. It has just reminded me of a story I heard a couple of years ago about some cypriot friends of ours, her family came from the northern side and were forced to the south after the invasion. Anyway a few years ago they opened the northern side up for one day only so people could go over. Our friends went over to her families village to the old house that was originally there's and the people living there came out and gave her an old box of stuff including family photographs which were priceless. They had kept it all just in case one day they came knocking on the door. Isnt that just an absolutely priceless moment.

Not alot planned this weekend apart from the pub tonight and apparently hubbies mate has already said he will coming up so I think I might be putting him straight on a few points this evening regarding the recent split wish me luck....
