Ho Ho and Ho again....

Rachel Howdy....I write to you from a very busy office at Radio 1 towers today. It's all systems go on Christmas and I have the honour of being champion of christmas so I'm feeling very festive.

You've probably heard Chris and the other Radio 1 presenters talking about the big Radio 1 Christmas Party we're having. It's happening a week on Friday and it's my job to pull it all together. I know I sound very corporate but I think it's going to be a good one. Obviously, I would say that seeing as I'm organising it. We've got The Feeling, Corinne Bailey Rae, Paulo Nutini and Sugababes all confirmed. We've also got some special guests coming along to join in. I'm just waiting to confirm a few of them, so hopefully we'll be able to announce them on air soon.

The plan is basically to have a big party all day. We are going to give away tickets for it, so make sure you keep listening to find out when. It's happening on the Friday before Christmas, which effectively is the last day for most people at work so it's going to no doubt have a very chaotic random end of term feeling!

Totally changing the subject, I'm really stuck for what to buy the team for Christmas this year. I have a few ideas, but Chris is the one person I really don't know what to buy. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!

Right, I better get back to Christmas. The party's not going to organise itself you know!

have a nice afternoon now
Rach xx

Listening time between 7.30 and 8.00am

It would be wise to remember, whilst broadcasting at this time of the morning, children are also listening. Please therefore leave your crude, inappropriate comments until your on your own and likewise people are happily listening!

Chris mentioned John Lewis this morning and the fab service they provide on phoning and checking stock - just to reiterate - they are the best shop in the UK - fab service and always stock some unusual pressies - I use their online shop and its great - don't have to set foot in any shops if you don't want to. All shops should take a leaf out of John Lewis' book - bring back Customer Service - especially at Christmas. Good Luck Rach with the Christmas Party - sure you'll do a great job...! Merry Christmas everyone. x

This Christmas, buy everyone a small Scottish Highland Sporting Estate from www.lochaberhighlandestates.co.uk. You can visit, fish in the river, walk, picnic and legally call yourself Laird or lady. it is perfect for a Radio 1 Jock and everyone else too ;-)

I have the office do to go to on that Friday, so any excuse (most notably your party) would be welcome Rachel!!

For a present for Chris, could I suggest that maybe an XBox game, (maybe with Porsches in it?!) would be a suitable gift, or if you want something random - maybe one of these...https://www.iwantoneofthose.com/monopoly-chip-and-pin/index.html

or one of these -

Something borrowed or Blue may also go down well..

Hope all the team have a brill Christmas, including Aled, My email is attached for when you want to know where to post the tickets for Friday!

I'm taking the 22nd off, because obviously you'll be giving free tickets to the regular and interesting contributors to your blog comments section.

Plus, you need a good party band and I know the very lads...
