What's the panic?

Dom | 13:34 UK time, Wednesday, 13 December 2006

Hello bloggerloggers. It's me again writing to you with another installment of blogging. As we're in the festive season at the moment - I thought I'd talk about something that's really annoying me at the moment. People who say "ooo...haven't you done your Christmas shopping yet? Oh dear - better get a move on". Oh just **** off!

The fact of the matter is this. It's now 13th December - that means there are T W E L V E days to go until Christmas. Now the chances are it's not going to take you days and days to do your shopping so what's the problem? Even my wife is starting to stress about it. THERE'S LOADS OF TIME LEFT. 24 hours in a day x 12 days = lots of time.

I can do all my Christmas shopping in one hour - just go to one big department store and then buy everything you need. Simple. Stop moaning.

The people who say"ooo - get a move on" should be banned from celebrating christmas and shipped off to an island in the Adriatic. And I'll happily row the boat. It'd serve them right for being annoying.

That said - happy christmas to all. Jimmy Carr's in tomorrow. He'll be good.

Goodbye

Dom

Aaaah Easter eggs...

They're always put out at 3pm on Christmas Eve.

Talking of which... "He's got an EGG for a HEAD!"

Cue Easter jokes about Dom's head :-)

Well done for calming down the nation. You'd think this was going to be the last Christmas ever, the way people are speed walking around towns, eyes wide open, bodies jerking as they try and reach for the presents.

I'm going to try and break my own record this year, and buy all my presents within 1 hour. I can do this by the remarkable process known as the Christmas Present Amnesia Recycling Initiative (ChriPARI)

Essentially, it works like this: keep a record of everything you buy for everyone. Every five years, you can buy the same items again, secure in the knowledge that everyone will have forgotten what you bought them five years ago. I've done the research for you, and can confidently tell you it works.

regards

J McC

P.S. Anyone who is stuck for presents, and has a desire to buy ethical gifts may like to visit

Yes Dom !

But you can even go a stage further...

I did all mine in an hour online and they're all being delivered tomorrow, as well as some gift wrapped and on their way to LA without me even seeing em. Job done... .sorted.

People need to get a grip. It's war on the high street, but heaven on the (information super) highway !

Tell Jimmy I saw him in a noodle bar in Bradford a few weeks ago. Don't think he recognised me though :)

Just use the Comedy Dave method and buy the present on the way to your friends or family's home at the local 24 hour garage. Problem solved. Plastic flowers anyone?

People who say that are probably someone who doesn't know you that well and are just trying to make conversation. Hell, I did it today just because I was sat next to a mate in complete silence.

I hate those people whop bang on about Christmas starting earlier and earlier each year. They're whining about it earlier and earlier each year!

Plus, while we're on the subject, I also hate those people who complain that it's all gotten so commercial. As if they want it like the old days, with kids shoved up chimneys at 10 years old, asbestos in their houses and getting their presents of a hoop and stick and an orange on Boxing Day.

I'm giving two presents to everybody this year: a bah and a humbug. One size fits all.

Dom, you are so right. There is enough stress in this rat race society we live in that additional pressure from materialists is just not neccessary. Having said that I will be very bitter if I don't get the Cartier watch I've asked for!

Love the show, good to hear Stanta again this morning. Just need to hear the Travis Christmas tune featuring Moyles as Santa and Dave as Rudolph and all will be well.

(p.s. It must be said that you are my favourite member of the team)

Quite agree Dom Meister and fellow U2 megafan!!

Plenty of time on Christmas Eve to do the crimbo shop, with the added bonus of getting all the stuff dirt cheap in the sales!

I think the Easter eggs go on sale that day too! How's that for a bizarre christmas present?

So shut up all you 'early-shopper' losers!!!

Get a life and stop your wingeing!!
