The Proclaimers came in yesterday. There are two of them. and they are twins. Not just that, but they are brothers, plus they look identical.

They are called Charles and Eddie (come on, would I lie to you?)

Brilliant.

It was during the Rallyoke tour that I sang one of their biggest hits - 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)'. I have the claim to fame that when they came in yesterday they said "your version is not bad".

This has given me a boost in my musical career. Last year Dave and I played Glastonbury with Folkface, and this shot in the arm by the Gallagher brothers (or whatever their surname is) has inspired me to aim for even greater heights.

I'm currently working on a song with the working title 'I'm Gonna Be (804.672 Kilometres)'. It employs some of the same chords of '500 Miles' but with my own unique twist - check local record stores for details. Possibly.

I love Hoop Dogg as he is writing down this blog on the phone with one hand as I blogtate it to him - that's the way he rolls.

Thanks very much for reading this.

Bye bye

I've said it before and I'll say it again: comedy songs are neigther big nore clever, but yours couldn't be any worse than that official Roll 500 Miles thing. Peter Kay throws in the odd mildly ammusing first time round quip, but Matt Lucas is just taking the proverbial in a very revealing [i.e. you're really not very funny at all, Lucas] way.

i think there is a future in the music industry for you Dom. With your version or rehab along with comedy dave and now your version of 500 miles sweeping the nation this could catch on. stand aside Travis and Paolo Nuttini.
