It'll be interesting to see if the spread of the web in Africa has a similar effect that the introduction of TV had in Bhutan.

This is also relevant to the topic of the spread of the Web and its consequences in Ghana.

The history of Africa in the past few centuries has been one of exploitation by richer countries. In some of the poorest countries on earth I hope the Web doesn't add to ways in which Africans (women and children in particular) continue to be exploited and abused.
