So, is this really JUST for internal, Newsnight admin use, with viewers (i.e. non-employees who can't go to the 10.30am meeting) able to observe?

If so, fair enough, but it does sometimes seem like New Labour's (substitute any party/group) infamous practice of 'cosmetic consultation' (not that I'm surprised, but there have been SOME issues aired here you might have picked up on, as Barriesingleton has remarked several times now).

Some time back, when the Guardian's Comment Is Free was picked up on the seemingly much higher than expected frequency of Jewish/pro-Israel authoring CiF articles, the response of one of the editors was that this wasn't favoritism, it was just that these authors were more readily available and wrote better pieces.

I've worked in advertising all my life and am well aware of the prices charged by such as Mintel for 'processed' data. Consequently I NEVER answer 'surveys' of any sort. I'm averse to providing them the raw material for free.

Which brings to mind that occasionally a valid suggestion is made here for programme ideas. Should such a suggestion be taken up there might be copyright issues...

I'm only kidding of course. I'm all for a little 'access' and would make no charge. ;-)

Just a thought, but maybe something about the 'Caravan of all the talents' on its regional tour Brumwards to show the people (quote ´óÏó´«Ã½ news) 'that it is listening'.

I do wonder what a mobile bunker of ministers, staff, security and hangers on will actually hear, let alone pay attention to, but there you are.

Still a great example in these parlous financial and environmentally aware times, and as an exhortation to those that actually earn their pay to cut back and be more efficient it's waaay up there with our masters in the EU decamping betwixt two cities in their 4x4s or private trains just because some in the contingent need to let the chat out or leave a note to the homme du lait.

Maybe it's time for News Night to commission Migration Watch to make a short film about the impact this will have on this country.

After all,you commissioned three short films about Illegals immigrants two weeks ago, with the end message that we should hold an amnesty for Illegals.

That must surely be the verdicts so far on the 'airline bombers' who were only joking.

Tell that to the hundreds of travellers world-wide who could have been blown from the sky had our anti-terrorism intelligence been too late; or the millions whose air travels became chaotic and stressful shambles because of the sudden panic of 'no-liquid' carry-ons.

This is a landmark case which seems to demonstrate that trial processes will need some radical revision if they are to deal with conspiracy to murder unknown innocents.

SCIENCE AND SCIENTISTS

Science is about pure enquiry. Scientists are about impure motives such as: fame, beating the other guy, being right (even when wrong) refusing to consider challenging data, hiding errors, fiddling results and, more recently, caving in to funding. Those who know some science, but do not 'know' scientists and the history of scientific failings and deceptions, accept orthodoxy. This is why the man-made (CO2) model for climate change holds such sway. This is why dodgy drugs get to the market. And so on.
Above, on this thread, @9, you can find all you need to throw entirely new light on CERN et al. I emailed Susan Watts, and other ´óÏó´«Ã½ scientific types a while back - no reply. So Newsnight, there it is, a far bigger story than CERN. Are you going to take a look?

I have been watching TUC conferences for about forty years and I think 'who takes any notice.'..Darling and Brown will appear, they will be given a polite and reasonable welcome and then they will go and crap all over workers from a great height so can someone tell me the relevance of the TUC? These two have more in common with the energy companies and the City than with any of the brothers...

Phoenixarisen (#13) Do you think this 'bias' might have something to do with the 'War on Terror' waged against 'Islamo-Fascists' who've been giving Israel (and free-market Liberal Democratic Neocons elsewhere) such a hard time (all their talk of Big and Little Satan, and jihad etc?). Rumour has it that they've been major contributors to 'The Clash of Civilisations' in not embracing usury, debt, female emancipation (spending) and going on jihad. Clearly they're undesirable aliens and not like Westerners at all.

It's odd that Mr Frattini of the EU is encouraging millions more to come into the EU isn't it? On the other hand, perhaps it isn't, as other groups aren't breeding much anymore but maybe that's got something to do with that "jahiliyya" business?

Hindus and Sikhs don't seem to get up to much 'evil-doing' (especially not in the UK), and one mustn't say anything critical about Jews or Israelis as that's deemed anti-Semitic and forbidden by the Race Relations Act.

All in all, the more exposure the ´óÏó´«Ã½ gives to the religion of 'trouble-making', family-orientated, sexist, potential terrorists the better don't you think? We need to guard against its pernicious influence.

I have been made privy to the content of the deleted post and apart from a completely innocuous mention of Israel there is only a very obviously tongue-firmly-in-cheek reference to Islamophobia.

Do tell Mr Moderator, exactly what House Rule was broken? I had come to think of the NN blog as being a place where speech was free(er) than most but this has shades of the Grauniad's CiF about it.
