I find these 'invited audiences, mix of politicians and celebrities much less valuable than the direct interview. It is much too easy for all to get into 'playground' mode and 'my dad's biggerer 'n' your dad' rot. Hopefully JP won't be too tired (a 5 day week indeed just on NN projects) to manage the 'slithy tothes' so the audience has a chance to hear the points being made.

Hopefully, with the sun shining and the birds singing, the political and celeb guests will be relaxed enough not to give him too much hassle and it is in their interest, after all, to reach audiences rather than put them off adding to their already low esteem with the public.

You're probably asleep now, BYT, but I thought I'd recount an experience I had earlier today:

Having cycled back from the Globe, past the Anglesea Arms Pub that I sometimes call the Blue Moon, and having purchased all kinds of reduced goodies from the local M&S, I carried on towards the Battersea Bridge, York Road and Wandsworth. However, I felt so desperate to go to the loo that on the way I stopped off at a very smart bar with all the bags hanging out off my shoulders, etc. I really must have looked a picture.

I asked politely whether it would be possible to use their loo and a young lady, without batting an eyelid, very kindly and with a smile said that it was no problem at all. On my way out, battling with all the bags sliding off my shoulders, I tried to disappear as quickly as possible but it was all smiles with the barmen calling me 'madam'.

A most heart warming experience it was, Brightyanthing.

Did anyone watch Simon Reeve last night? I see the Chinese are quietly taking over Laos it appears, nothing like cutting down rainforests to build big concrete hotels and gaming centres. Governments colluding, and the poor getting nothing as usual.

I was talking to a very experienced tiger man at Howletts yesterday. He says the Chinese want the international ban lifted on harvesting Tiger bones. The Chinese have many thousands, maybe 5, kept in captivity in appalling conditions, starved, it doesn't matter how much they weigh, they only want the bones and skin.

The Siberian Tiger is almost extinct in a major area of it's range. It's now been renamed the Amur Tiger, as it's only in that region of China they exist now, maybe a thousand wild tigers left in the world.

He also told us a German chemist was making Tiger bone by genetic engineering, just having a sample of Tiger blood. Apparently it's very successful. The Chinese say that it isn't the same as real Tiger, and doesn't have the strength, so they totally rejected it. The Chinese have now started to kill off further animals in the tiger group, namely Clouded Leopards and Snow Leopards. My question is what will the Chinese do when all the breeds of Tigers are extinct?

Yesterday I spent an exciting day with U3A at Downe House, where Darwin wrote his famous treatise on Evolution. I stood in the room where he pondered for many years over the facts that his research had revealed, afraid to publish for fear of the protests from the bible believing community.

I think we are in a similar position now, watching England sink to a third-world status, but afraid to stand up for Radical Change, whilst we watch hour after hour of LIB-LAB-CON preaching. Afraid, and discouraged from looking beyond our familiar comfort zone.

You know that I assume that you are talking about the BNP due to your previous posts. They could not muster any science whatever to back their previous stance on racial membership rules against the EHRC they simply have not complied so far as I know.

It would be incredibly hard for Cameron to avoid PR if he cannot explain why if the party with the most votes is the Lib Dems they should get the third most seats.

If he tries to avoid PR or looks as though he may renege I hope the Lib Dems cut them loose.

If there is a second election then the Lib Dems have nothing to lose as otherwise they are cemented into opposition.

I am not sure the public would be any more inclined to blame them than the Tories if a deal cannot be done.

I applaud Alan Johnson who came out and consistently continued his support for PR.

There are those now claiming UKIP is the only choice.

But perhaps that shows the internal splits within the BNP may lead to a new influx into UKIP - who themselves only recently dumped Wiffin.

Yes I did ask if it were possible to re-educate the chinese, but was told it was their "culture!". They have killed Tigers for many thousands of years, as we know the chinese were far ahead of us, especially with homoepathic cures. They won't change anytime soon.
