Neither man has run a business, ran a corner shop, or even had a regular job .. something tells me they would be incapable of running a lemonade stand. The only thing they appear to be good at is standing up and debate and I do that at least 2/3 times a week - albeit laced with jokes - so it ain't a good enough qualification to manage anything of importance. Debating and forming an argument to the lesser mortals -political or other - is not enough, you have to have a mind, a real functioning mind that is full of experience, broad and wide, not narrow like Cam and Milly, neither of these men have that, they are just vanity driven power lapping chaps with no ideas other than getting the usual approval from their fellow political hacks..well it's just not enough is it. And not having this experience was illustrated recently with the departure of Camarons Spin man Andy Coulson. Apparently this has left Camerons only connection to the outside world of ordinary life gone. His reliance on Coulson in having a connection to the ordinary man and woman is a stark reminder that we are led by well meaning but narrow minded convoluted fools ..and parliament is full of them.

regarding the comparison of Egypt with Iran - worth remembering that America was fully complicit with the switch in the Iranian revolution from the liberal forces to fundamentalist Islam - the US deliberately sent back to Iran during the slow fall of the US-backed Shah the fundamentalist cleric Ayatollah Khomeini, a move that undercut the liberal forces that had started and maintained the revolution against the Shah. A Shah, some might remember, that had been violently re-installed and maintained in power by the US in Tehran, after the US became upset because the Iranians elected a liberal(ish) President that was interested in the profits from Iranian oil being used for the benefit of Iranians, and not just stolen in profits by Western oil companies.

there is also some evidence that there was direct communication between the Ayatollahs and Reagan, in that not only were the US hostages kept until Reagan won the election from Carter largely because of Carter's inability to free the hostages, but Reagan also then went on to commit the crime of Iran-gate - selling arms to the fundamentalist Iranian Govt.

BTW, the US hostages were freed literally *minutes* after Reagan was sworn in!

yet of course, throughout the entire episode, the US kept claiming it was only interested in "Peace and Democracy".
