EU MULTICULTURALISM ISN'T WORKING.

The pace of technological change impinges of every facet of life, such that the EU adventure is now a negative rather than the (arguable) positive, when there were six. Were politicians pragmatic and honourable, it would be gently disbanded, countries left with their identities and foibles intact, and peaceful coexistence fostered. But the corrupt EU gravy train (as always) has no brakes and is headed for mythological Nirvana. It is beloved of its suited beneficiaries. They might row, but they will run it as far as it will go, regardless of value to the general public.

I know that 大象传媒 man John Simpson comes over as a bit GRAND, he does seem a little bit over the top but I have just read his book on journalism and the way the 大象传媒 down the years has competed with the rest of the hacks and, believe me, it is a fantastic read. He covers all the intrigue and lies leading up to the first world war, the retreat from Dunkirk, the rise of Hitler and it is a book that I could not put down. NN posts will enjoy it. When you compare the D notice, for that is what it is, being imposed on free reporting on a 'footballer' and an 'actor' it makes you wonder what a world we are living in.....

local councils - it is the 'double whammy' of both cuts from central Govt grants, and then a forced imposition of Council Tax freeze that is causing the massive financial problems for councils. Considering local councils are also ELECTED, shouldn't they be able to raise their own levels if they wish? Would reduce the impact of the current cuts for some councils.


tabloid press/super injunctions: it is terrible that we even could need such protections for privacy - and equally terrible that such injunctions could be granted. What we NEED is a media that is owned by the reporters themselves, who will then take responsibility for their own words. It is the kkkorporate structure of the Press that leads to 'Tabloidism', and the kind of behaviour we have seen at the News of the World. The wrong questions are being asked about this issue - as per usual.


the EU has transformed the political landscape of the European continent. I think if our grandparents could have chosen between having an EU infrastructure, or 70,000,000 of them dying in pointless wars, it would have been a fairly easy choice. Is it perfect? Well, neither is Westminster, cry me a river. PEOPLE aren't perfect, and we have to design Public bodies to reflect that. The EU is facing enormous challenges right now, with the problems of the Euro North/South divide, and its quite likely it will change its development course quite dramatically soon (and necessarily so), but lets not throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Lots of the EU budget comes back to Britain in the form of agricultural subsidies for the wealthy, and no-doubt some of it leaves again to tax havens.





Just imagine if our mining and engineering industries had had some of the billions paid to Tate and Lyle and Nestle? Although this is dwarfed by recent payments to the financial sector.

As for superinjunctions, If it's consenting adults in private, I don't care or want to know who people share their bed with. I only want to know when they are s***wing the country.

yes, he would have annoyed many people, and he didn't care - he just pointed out, and explained, the hypocrisy and politicking of the UK Govt. The UK Govt signed up to measures to boost employment (hi tech, infrastructure etc) EU-wide, but is now trying not to pay the bill THEY INCURRED. Of course, 'our' Govt is ONLY interested in paying the bills of badly run banks, rather than employing people. We know that already. I wonder if Camoron intends to try to use this as a way out of the EU? The UK being locked out of the EEC would destroy even the few vestiges of economic activity we have left, but can he convince his right-wing backers about this? Or is this yet another way of building public opinion against the EU? After all, the Tories failed in their attempt to create a new 'voting bloc' in the European Parliament (ending up with the fascists, and other assorted extremist retards, embarrassingly for them!), and they have attempted to use HUMAN RIGHTS (!!!!!!!!!!!) as a means to leave. Now will they AGAIN embarrass themselves, by demanding impossible things from the EU and failing?? Appalling domestic policies, appalling foreign policies - are we still ruled by NuLabour?? :/

if we want honest politicians, we have to accept them being amused by political ignorance, as the EU guy was last night. His English wasn't great, but his honesty was breathtaking. :)
