On tonight's Newsnight...

Robin Denselow will have the latest on the battle for control of Tripoli, where troops loyal to Col Muammar Gaddafi are battling rebels.

Gabriel Gatehouse will be analysing who the rebels' interim administration, the National Transitional Council (NTC), are and what their agenda is.

We'll ask guests - including Lord Malloch-Brown and John Bolton - if the Libya conflict signals a rebirth of liberal interventionism.

And Sarfraz Manzoor considers if English cricket is doing enough to integrate Asian players.

    大象传媒 news story

    ''Boiler room share scammers jailed''

    /news/business-14623571

I thought for one brief moment that certain named prominent individuals in the financial services sector (several with knighthoods or sitting in the Lords) had finaly been caught up with in a similar manner to the News International scandal.

No such luck, it turned out to be some other fraudsters, they just did not have the protection of politicians, media moguls and titles so ended up getting thrown in jail for it.. tut tut.. how careless and unprofessional of them.

''They acquired, transferred and sold millions of low value and sometimes non-existent shares to vulnerable victims in the UK.''

And the PPI issue (for example) was different to that in what way someone remind me?

It must be the PPI fraudsters turn next week then?

Well spotted MuseV. Of course, the edgy 大象传媒 will have no idea what you are highlighting.

Poor Libya. They are due to 'get what we've got'. Dave said we have a sickness in certain parts. Wrong as usual Dave: WE ARE THE SICKNESS OF THE WORLD.

One can only say repeat the question asked in Post No One ....

    Why?

Of all the topics, in all the world one has to ask ....

鈥....... if English cricket is doing enough to integrate Asian players"?

Some good topics over the last couple of weeks, some good reporting (Yup, could be better, but ... ) and some excellent studio debates ....

Then we get is 鈥 .....English cricket .... doing enough to integrate Asian players"?

Surely this is a 鈥榯itanic moment鈥 ?

Surely if you feel the need to discuss the make-up of the national ........... (insert any 鈥榮port鈥 sic) team you might get closer to the 鈥榩roblem鈥 if you were to ask the following questions ......

Are facets i.e. certain communities, of the larger UK society sufficiently integrated into the british 鈥榠dentity鈥 to choose stroke prefer to identify themselves as 鈥榖ritish鈥? Or is the apparent preference toward identifying these 鈥榗ommunities鈥 by their ancestry and stroke or previous geographic heritage leading to further - and perhaps significantly damaging - isolation?

    (Quickly followed by ....)

What are the - potential - long term effects?

To do a report based on the 鈥榪uestion鈥 is not 鈥渓eading鈥....

It cant even be described as 鈥渇ollowing鈥 ( .... an important topic!) ....

    It鈥檚 tosh!

    But then, wait ! ....

Why not do a 鈥榩iece鈥 asking ......

The deity returns from holiday after several days of criminality in the UK yet returns immediately it 鈥榣ooks鈥 sic as though Libya's oil is up for grabs!

    Is there any significance?

    Better still .....

Here鈥檚 a truly significant question ....

If we are 鈥渁ll in this together鈥 i.e. economic quandary, then how come some people can have five holidays?

    For redacted鈥檚 sake ....

    Lead! ........

    Just loobdy lead!

PATHETIC 'WORLD STATESMEN' LINE UP TO KICK A MAN WHEN HE'S DOWN

It's like the slapping scene out of 'Airplane'.

Dave has told Gaddafi he is finished. Then up pops Obama for 'his go'. Should not the UN tell them to 'shut it'? It smacks of bullying - very high minded - not.
Is Merkel 'at it' also? And Sarkosy?

If these are the leaders of the smart world, NO WONDER WE HAVE BEEN LED INTO SUCH A MESS.

One day everyone will be allowed to slag off a defeated tyrant for 15 minutes. I hope I get Dave.

@ indignantindegene #7 - Should it really matter where anyone is from? They played for the English Cricket team (ie, England). We should judge on merit, not where they are from :p
Besides, if we were arguing about differing backgrounds, how come there aren't any cricket players of Chinese descent?

  • Comment number 12.

According to UKDfID Secretary of State Andrew Mitchell MP the fate of the Gadaffi family is 'a matter for the Libyan Transitional Council'? But surely the UK voted for the UN Security Council Resolution referring this matter to the UN International Criminal Court in The Hague: As for John Bolton's comments: McGrahi was not prosecuted by 'a Spanish court'! The Lockerbie trial was conducted in a special court in The Netherlands operating under Scottish not Spanish law! Why on earth is 大象传媒 Newsnight allowing such rubbish to go out on serious current affairs programmes without being challenged?

    The 5 whys questioning method

"The 5 Whys is a questions-asking method used to explore the cause/effect relationships underlying a particular problem. Ultimately, the goal of applying the 5 Whys method is to determine a root cause of a defect or problem."

Just imagine if only one of the not-so-able NN presenters could apply this Japanese root cause investigation/questioning technique on just one politician.

It could quite literally save millions of pounds of TV licence payers' money being paid to over-compensated, over-rated presenters. Let alone the hundreds of millions (billions?) of tax-payers money wasted on feckless policies.

One ethnik briefly touched on the alcohol angle - it then disappeared from the entire enquiry. Jeremy made no mention . . .

So now we can add 'Sport Alcohol' to the list of things (e.g. the 9/11 lie) that the 大象传媒 stay silent on. Now why might that be?

THE PROBLEM WITH ENGLISH TYRANNY IS WE DO IT TO OURSELVES! (#25 link)

If I have worked out, over a year, that our culture is not corrupted but comprises CORRUPTION ITSELF, then others COULD if they were not so 'embedded' in 'the lie'.

But, as previously explained, I was born maverick, and it kept me from total immersion.

Guido simply logs the sources that prove his point. In the same way,
the guilt of Dubya Bush is filed in the public domain - not inference or conjecture - proof. The same goes for Blair's guilt.

Orthodox tyranny is easy for the UN (or was it NATO . . .) bullies to pick off, with fanfare, but OUR tyranny is ttishy in the extreme - 'hidden in full view', and labelled 'AAA' by some ephemeral authority.

Thus it is that the sleeping, tyrannised masses of this nation, are inhibited from a copy-cat uprising BECAUSE THEY CANNOT SEE THE TYRANNY FOR THE CULTURAL CORRUPTION.

Mandelson poised to buy 拢8m home

The purchase would be the first indication of the multi-million-pound fortune amassed by the former business secretary, who left office last year鈥.the source of much of Lord Mandelson鈥檚 wealth remains shrouded in secrecy鈥.the property, complete with wine cellar, is in one of London鈥檚 most exclusive neighbourhoods. The property, on the market for just under 拢8 million, would represent a remarkable acquisition for a man who a decade ago was living in a one-bedroom 拢250,000 flat.

AUTO TYRANNY AND HOW TO ACHIEVE IT

Permit, over time, an elite to build a web of pseudo-democratic structures, and a central edifice of control, endowed with an aura of 鈥榟onour鈥 (by dint of repetition). This is Westminster.

Permit this elite to install universal suffrage coupled with (party) pre-selection of candidates, such that General Elections only return 鈥榯he right stuff鈥 through manipulation of the electorate, and the illusion of choice affording faux representation.

Permit the higher echelons to exploit subversive links with law, justice, Mammon, military, and money manipulation; further permit them to buy minds with dirty money during elections.

Permit each elected/re-elected assemblage of weird conformists, to distil amongst themselves, officers of state who may play and experiment, on a whim, with the lives of unwitting proles. Let them, without oversight, elevate a Prime Minister from their aberrant ranks, to 鈥榓ct鈥 on the world stage.

Permit a series of bizarre, inept, acts of so-called 鈥榞overnance鈥 to impinge on your life, as you watch, helpless to influence anything. You have achieved AUTO TYRANNY.

CAROLE THATCHER WAS ASKED HOW MARK WAS SUDDENLY SO RICH (#27)

She replied with characteristic fervour: "I don't know. But if you find out be sure to TELL ME!

Money is power; power is money.

Individual tyrants have the power to amass money - and they do. Our tyrannical elite (I need not name them) and those they favour, all become magically rich.

As I have said before: We are ripe for 'correctional bombing' and regime change.
Why does the 'International Community' hold back? Might THEY be corrupt also?

    Perish the thought.

Disappointing, but not surprising, that the 大象传媒's response to England reaching the pinnacle of Test cricket is so churlish.

Referring to Edgbaston as 'genteel' (I mean good grief) undermined the presenter's credibility from the off.

No attempt to justify the thesis that British Asians were under-represented (the statistics presented were unconvincing given that they indicate that the proportion of Asian pros exceeds the statistics for the general population by a factor of about 2).

It does feel rather like I am reduced to closing my eyes and tapping some red shoes together while repeating.

''there is not such thing as sustainable growth, there is no such thing as sustainable growth''

Meanwhile behind the curtains in Oz Ben B is going to print money again. Yet nobody will come to arrest him and villify him in the media.... although if he carries on much longer the Chinese may feel upset enough to lay siege to Oz itself while they build their own version of it.

I suspect they may do a better job of it.

I AM GETTING THAT FEELING AGAIN

'They' are going to need some massive diversionary event to stop 'us' waking up to our oppressed status, and to keep us open to manipulation for our own 'good'. It will need to be orders of magnitude greater than the 9/11 charade.

    Nuclear? Biological? Electromagnetic? Psychological? Psychopharmacological?

We (meaning all who are not 'them') have ample evidence of their un-empathic mentality. They will do to us whatever takes their deranged fancy, for some greater good that only they perceive.

I rather suspect, rather than being a false flag exercise, 9/11 was an opportunistic 'give them enough rope to hang themselves' type exercise.

The pre-planned demolision of bld 7 points to someone knowing about the attack in advance, choosing not to stop it (rather than initiating it) and making sure they could make a few quid and maximise the political impact at the same time by enhancing the terrorists effect by actively collapsing the buildings.

Al Queda as an unwitting accomplice in pushing the political agenda for USA massive intervention in the middle east. The very thing it was fighting against.

I can see how such a tactic could have been hugely appealing to certain unhinged interests and why that could lead to buildings miraculously collapsing into nice neat piles after being hap-hazardly hit by 2 planes, one of the neatly collapsed buildings was not hit by anything at all!!

Since when does burning office furniture cause a 40 sorey building to completely collapse vertically in 4 seconds???

Having now seen and considered carefully the forensic case for Bld 7 in particular (it casts a light on the twin towers collapse as well but that is less clear cut forensically I would say) I will be adding my name to the 1,500 + qualified engineers who want a proper enquiry into this.

I suspect those engineers don't realise just how deep that rabbit hole goes.

One would hope, if correct, that such a revelation would unite all good people of all cultural persuations in condemnation of such sickening acts sufficient to throw them all out and promote a sense of a fresh start without recourse for indulging in revenge and mayhem in the middle east in particular.

Otherwise it will not be worth doing.

THE WONDER OF CHILCOT - THE SITE IS STILL UP

You will remember Chilcot was to LEARN LESSONS.

I sent the following pathetic note:

Apologies for lateness, but this is vital if the UNDERLYING lesson is to be learned. In the course of trying to alert Westminster to a 'False Instrument' used by 9 sitting MPs, I have discovered just how well DEFENDED (against integrity) is the Westminster Citadel. Within that Citadel 'they' have distilled three consecutive PMs who each took to their side a master of dark arts from the media sphere. This speaks of a corrupt regime with deeply damaging consequences for Britain - one of which you are investigating. I wish to stress that the lesson to learn, above all, is that Westminster attracts, nurtures and elevates delusional zealots with little empathy for mankind. Please do not shrink from articulating such in your report.

That is a leap too far for me Barrie, it is a big enough struggle coming to terms with the notion that people knew about it in advance (which seems quite clear cut now as a minimum explanation for bld 7) and chose not to stop it.

To actively manufacture the whole thing.... I just can't go there.. made me feel quite depressed just contemplating that possibility nevermind believing it.. which I don't.

Being ever the paragmatist I would say:

    a) Something does not stack up
    b) The most easily believed explanation is (I would say) some people knew of it already and chose not to do anything coupled with the physical evidence of bld 7.
    c) Get enough momentum behind that and, whether that proves to be the final version of events or not, we may have a chance of finding out the real story.

If we mix in changing newsfootage, fake planes and mass memory manipulation it falls into the perpetrators hands (whether that is true or not) and makes it easier for them to poke fun and try to discredit the whole movement trying to explain, in the first instance, bld 7 .. crack that one and the rest will follow.
