When will Tony speak?
The Liberal Democrat leader Sir Menzies Campbell speaking today:
"The Prime Minister's silence is more eloquent than anything he might have said. "The shameful scenes at Saddam Hussein's execution should be an embarrassment to everyone. Most of all they reflect the abject failure of the policies of the White House and Number 10 towards Iraq. Sooner or later Mr Blair will have to respond to these events."

Sir Menzies Campbell's statement is outrageous. The execution was carried out by a government of the people, by the people, for the people...of Iraq, not anyone else. The people (of Iraq) have spoken. For a peer of the Queen's Realm, that's not good enough. He'd have us return to the days of chivalry where his kind ruled the land and execution was by public beheading by an axman. Where is Madame DeFarge when you need her? (still up to your knitting Maureen? Where's my answer about my metaphor for insects as creationists anyway?)
