Rather a fun
chat last night with three former Radio 4 controllers and the current one - Mark something.
They were fascinating. You'll be able to hear it on 30 September as part of a special programme to mark 3,000 years of Radio 4. I think it's part of the Radio 4 sex season.
I mentioned our proposed new name for the "blog prog" to the controller and he knocked me unconscious.
I have to say, and this may sound sordid, but the sex session sounds fascinating (at least according to the blurb on the Guardian website, so hey who knows whats REALLY going to happen!)
I'll be keeping an ear out.
Gordon Brown is absolutely right, we and the US are on the same track in Iraq, what he failed to mention is that we are going in the opposite directions.
Gordon Brown’s description of Prime Minister’s Questions as a ‘debate’ must rank as a hot favourite for the most ludicrous statement of the year prize!
I hope someone recorded the sound of the R4 controller knocking you unconscious, for use as a Sound of the Summer (or for the tribunal?). If not, I don’t know about the implications of trying to recreate this.
sex on radio 4? I am sorry but I don't understand... my husband told me that I had to chose between sex and Radio 4.
By the way, good interview on Today this morning, and the play was excellent, and isn't it nice to hear Ruth and David Archer getting along better, and....
Brian (3) Why?
Appers @ 6, maybe Brian meant that Prime Minister’s Questions doesn't come over as a debate very often, if at all?
In a formal debate there is one theme to be proposed and opposed.
PMQ's is political theatre, nothing more or less. A string of questioners, one person to give answers which often have nothing whatsoever to do with the question posed.
I do wish that Mr. Speaker would compel the PM of the day to give direct answer to the question and not dissemble on a theme of his own choosing.
Si.
Maybe Fishers (7), but it seems we are not to be told.
Appers @ 9, I dunno then. P'raps he thinks it proves his point and he need say no more?
