The Oscar Nominations
So they're in, and James King did pretty good with hisÌýpredictionsÌýof what would be nominated, getting Best Actor and Best Director bang on, and only being a little off on the others. Just in case you're wondering how a film picks up a nomination why not check outÌýthis post.Ìý
There don't seem to be any huge surprises this year, in fact the soundtrack could've been Radiohead with No Surprises... see what we did there? The only major one seems to be The Blind Side getting a Best Picture nomination to go with Sandra Bullocks Best Actress nom. Great news for Brit Armando Iannucci who got a nod for Best Adapted Screnplay forÌýIn The Loop along with fellow Brits Colin Firth, Dame Helen Mirren and Carey Mulligan all getting nominated.
UpÌýpicked up a nomination for Best Picture, and is the first animated film to do it since Beauty & The BeastÌýin 1992. AvatarÌýdidn't get quite as many nominations as everyone suspected it would, but did of course get Best Picture & Best Director, meaning James Cameron will be up against his ex-wife theÌýThe Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow.
The winners will be revealed by this years hosts Steve Martin & Alec Baldwin on the 7th March.
