So those little silent people that are made out of plastic, not content with having their own Batman and Indiana Jones games now have their very own Rock band game.
If your not familiar with the concept of Rock Band and its big rival Guitar Hero are kinda like karaoke for the new millenium.Depending on the add ons you have (microphone, guitar, drums), you play and sing along with the well known tunes included in the game and score points according to how well you perform.
The obvious twist here is that even though the tunes are real the on screen characters are Lego versions for example Blur (complete with mop tops - Too funny!).

Part two of the renaissance based action adventure game A.C.2 has returned. Now there was something about the 1st edition that caught the imagination of gamers.
This time around the developers tried to be different in the design, where stealth is the name of the game. Set in Florence Italy during times Assassins Creed 2 tries to take it to a higher level. The 1st and most striking thing is the look of this game. It really is beautiful, the recreation of mediveval Italy looks very realistic.
Another feature of the 1st episode was the movement around the city.
The way your character moves runs and jumps is a joy to watch and you will take a real delight in making death defying jumps, balancing on flag poles and leaping 5 storeys down into a cart filled with hay. (Whoop Whoop). All of this has been improved with even more realistic movement and some killer finishing moves and talking of killer moves over 20 new weapons have been added.
A new approach to stealth has been employed. You can now hire people to cause distractions like throwing money in the street to cause a riot and thus help you escape from a sticky situation. (Very Cunning).
In the quest for world domination of your living room two of the major console makers have announced the addition of several features to their machines to make the even more enticing.
have unveiled an update for the ´óÏó´«Ã½ iplayer to allow you to watch programmes on the Wii without turning your computer on. This will be available from Wednesday 18th November - Heavy! Check it out right
have gone even further by totally revamping the Xbox desktop, with their new Xbox Collectivee: Twitter, Facebook, Last Fm and Zune are being added, so social networking online radio and media serving facilities are all going to appear on the 360. In particular Zune looks interesting because this should allow you to listen to music, videos and other content from your P.C on the Xbox. More details to come. Check this out
At this rate you'll never leave your living room again!
It has finally landed..... the biggest release of 2009 "Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2"
Now we've got past the huge launch, (check the pics here), lets get to the game itself and has it lived up to the hype that had the public queueing for hours?
The answer is YES!
Okay so first things first, if you've been living in the planet Zonk and have no idea what MW2 is: Its one of the most realistic first person shooter war games out. The 6th installment of the Call of Duty series, which is set five years after the conclusion of Call of Duty 4.
Now Treble T being a COD 4 veteran that he is went straight past go to the multiplayer tab, but I on the other hand after seeing the campaign mode on a 50 ft screen wanted to find out if Infinity Ward the developers had managed to take this new version to the next level!
I won't spoil it for those who haven't finished it yet, but take 6-10 hours and you will. There will be the temptation to do it twice which will help the new members to COD. The story is as mad as toast, but to be honest who cares? From coast to coast, snow to sand and land to sea, its got it all. I was immersed in it from start to finish and it didn't matter how ludicrous the story got. The minute you grab that gun on the back of the APC and the turbine starts spinning your INVOLVED! Each scene, level and mission will have you reaching for a glass of water maybe even a stiff drink. It makes you think when you look at some of the characters that they could possibly exist in the world? How frightening is that!?!
So big news this week alongside the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the news that Microsoft have stopped the Xbox live online gaming service on between 600 thousand and one milion consoles Check the story from .
Is that you? Or do you know someone with a chipped Xbox? Microsoft say the consoles still work but online play is disabled.
This is to try and stop the pirating that has plagued the music business and is starting to infiltrate games too. But leading voices representing gamers say that modding or chipping of the Xbox is done by a lot of people in order to protect the expensive games they have bought (average £40) which reside on fragile discs. If scratched thats your money down the drain. Gamers have complained that they should be allowed to copy games to a hard drive for back up purposes in a similar way to the new rules regarding the copying of music to mp3 players.
Is it just coincidence this happens as Call of Duty is released? Do you agree with Microsoft? Or should peeps be allowed to copy games they have already bought for safetys sake? Think twice before going to the computer fair for that dodgy add on! What do you think? Get involved, leave a comment.

Camouflage carpet in Leciester Square Central London. Nuff Celebs, too many to mention from the States to the UK, with drinks flowing and food (bo these authentic brown rations box) all made for the launch of the biggest game of all time. (Modern Warfare2). Look at the size of the screen they played on.....DUTTY!!!! People queued for hours at midnight to get their hands on the most sort after game in gaming history. So its the eve of the release of the big one everyone's waiting for, The anticipation of the game is of epic proportions, MASSIVE, GIGANTIC, HUMONGOUS (and any other large words I can think of!).
Okay lets check the facts:
C.O.D 4 MODERN WARFARE sold 13 million copies
C.O.D 4 online players upto 15 million
MODERN WARFARE 2 Pre-sales 1.6million.
The game is set to become the biggest selling game of all time. The question is where can the Call Of Duty franchise go next? Is the second world war genre rinsed? Can they take it further back in time or maybe into the future? Where would you like them to take it? Give us your ideas....and we'll pass them on to the developers.
Hey, SamPage here. I want to tell you a short and sad tale, which is hardcore gaming related.
When I was 13 years old, Final Fantasy 7 was released on the Playstation and me and my friends were all hooked. As soon as I was home from school we were sat on the console, waving swords and using magic to will our way through the world that was Final Fantasy. 45 hours later the game was completed. (I've since then completed it in 12hours). Now there are a string of hardcore RPG/Action adventure related games which have been released on the Final Fantasy series and in many other series including Zelda, Oblivion, Dragon Quest and Pokemon.
What we wanted to know is what's the longest amount of time YOU have played a game for? I once played for 24 hours solid for charity which was quite exhausting but kind of awesome. Also what do you guys think it is that keeps you playing the game in question? Answers on a postcard...
So if you've checked the blog recently you would kow that Funky D beat DJ Cameo on Pro evolution soccer 2010 during our get your game on week. They helped us out with a quick on air review but now its time for the in depth blow by blow analysis from a die hard football and Pro Evo fan. Me!
So you know this game is always hotly anticipated by football fans along with its big rival Fifa 10. In the past even though Fifa had all the bells and whistles like official kits and league 2,3 and 4 teams but Pro always had better gameplay and hence won the battle. Well Konami (the makers) have been beavering away to improve Pro even more by adding stuff like true 360 degree control so no more turning on compass points and total freedom to choose your direction of travel to the degree.
2010 also adds official kits from the new Europa league to the Champions League which means more teams with their proper names and kits as opposed to West Midlands village?!?!(Aston Villa)

So Friday was the biggest event in the gaming calendar. The 27th annual Golden where the great and the good (bunch of geeks like me and Mike), sit down for a slap up meal and clap politely when a game wins!!
Everyone from the gaming world was in a massive banqueting suite in the Hilton Hotel Park Lane London, and it was hosted by comedian Shaun Lock who was very funny and did a great job. This award ceremony really is a celebration of the games you've been playing for the past year because the awards are voted for by the general public not some stuffy magazine reviewer.
Over a million votes cast made this the biggest voter spread yet in its 27 year history.
We the Rampage crew were privileged to have an award named after us as DJ's and asked if we would like to present the best soundtrack award. So of course you know we had to reprsent on stage.

Sports games are forever being produced at the highest standard of gaming, with new yearly games coming out to give you a better experience, higher quality graphics and player updates. Now with new consoles the options to challenge players online has really lifted the genre to extra levels. Some of the biggest sporting franchises take part. Soccer (Fifa, Pro Evo), Basketball (NBA), American Football (Madden). If you like sports games your choices are always endless and fresh.
What sports games keep you hooked to the console?

Scott Mills as part of Gaming week on Radio 1 & 1xtra got in a few of the older types to play some games with him. It's fair to say Scott isn't the biggest gamer, but neither are the pensioners we bought in so it should have been a good challenge.
Shoot 'em Ups and war games in general have been floating around since the dawn of gaming. Doom, Turok, Duke Nukem, Medal Of Honor, Call Of Duty.... you could go on forever about the greatest FPS' (First Person Shooters) out there. My personal favourite was Golden Eye on Nintendo 64. It really moved the genre in a new direction with mission based story play and clever puzzle work.
What has been your favourite FPS?

Now weekend daytime is usually reserved for shopping or football where I'm concerned but last Saturday I was gaming hard for 1Xtra and Radio1 at .
For those that have no idea what I'm talking about. Eurogamer is a gaming exhibition/convention which took place in Leeds and London. It's now in it's second year and for the first time, has an event in the North East of England (sharing the gaming love). 12000 people visited Eurogamer over the 3 days, me being one of them.
I was like a big kid in a sweet shop holding my mums credit card (luv you mum).
Hi Bloggers, what's up. Gemma from the1Xtra Breakfast show here!
Wiii fitting with Edith was a lot more fun than I had expected. Firstly I forgot the appropriate clothing, so I improvised with a 1Xtra T-shirt that was lying around in the office and a pair of swimming goggles, being the true professional of the two of us, Ed turned up green hot pants and hair in bunches!
Okay, so it took a while to set up, though the Wii proved itself as 'serious' in the fitness stakes by asking way to many personal questions, age, weight, height etc, (to be honest it was a bit annoying the length of time it took).
