Would you hack your PS3?
So breaking tech news just in, some dude called George has hacked the so you can play pirated games. Check the full story . He's good at it too he's already done the iPhone. Peeps have been playing pirates on the for years but just before the launch of Microsoft somehow managed to block all the hacked Xbox's from going online! (Check our post on this.)
There were a lot of annoyed gamers that could only play at home but whose to blame if you play with pirated software! Ha ha!
Now Sony are very worried about losing tons of money....And it must be said copying of games is done cos they're so flippin expensive.
Bearing this in mind would you consider getting your's hacked? Do you have an online deaded Xbox? Do you think its theft? Or are hackers modern day Robin Hoods liberating gaming for the unwashed masses? Leave a comment

There is no point in hacking games coz after u get bored of them they just sit there. I pay 4 pound a mounth and rent them from a online site and post them back when im done.

Also, you said that people copy games because they are too expensive which is not true - if that was the case then why can youget pirated versions of ipone games that, to buy, would be £2.99. Software piracy is THEFT, plain & simple - there are no excuses for it.

This isnt true. There are many many stories of people who have used PS3s with an external OS as a substitute to renting mainframes or supercomputers for computer intensive tasks. This is not possible with the new line of PS3s however, as the option to install an external OS has been removed. This chip will allow people once again to install and operate dedicated programs designed to cater to their needs, opening up a way once again to get cheaper forms of computing power.
Yes, this chip will lead to a lot of piracy i am sure, but it will also lead to a lot of Homebrew which will be beneficial to many people.

"Hi Rampage. One way to reduce piracy is to drop the price of games. They sell games at 10, 15 or 20 notes in the sales and still make a profit so why can 't they do it all the time? PC games sell for 20 notes all the time, so why not console games? Would peeps risk the consequences of piracy for 20 notes? From Keith driving about at work in Bedford."

No matter what companies do, people will always pirate games or music. Way back when people was running off the Top 40 & coping Spectrum & ´óÏó´«Ã½ games at the same time, there were those who'd buy the games out right, as they'd never lower their level. I suppose it's a moral thing, as most Consoles are hackable & plus if you have the time & energy to perform the hack, it can be benifical. Therefore the likes, of multi million pound companies will not go under & the vicious circle will just keep rolling.
I ain't got a PS3, but have a Wii - :o)
