Waterfalls and portaloos

The more observant of you will have noticed that we've recently moved location. I know some of you were getting bored of the lake view but it's hard not to be impressed by the vista up here.

We're still up at the lake but broadcast from a spectacular waterfall last night (Tuesday) and we're moving again today.

When I return home I'll have to delete some of the photos from my memory card as it's rapidly filling up with views of the lake but it seems to take on a different persona, every hour of the day.

The normally isolated spot was taken over 'briefly' by the Springwatch crew yesterday, much to the amusement of the walkers there who enjoyed watching the show being put together.

The location as you'll see from some of the photos is breathtaking. There are a series of falls working their way down from the top where water gushes over a small gap in the rocks.

Surrounding this small valley are stunning escarpments and rolling green hills as far as the eye can see.

The crew responsible for locating the programme here make it look very easy, but you begin to realise just how much planning is required when you spot all the cabling, cameras, sound recording kit, microphones, power... Yes, everything needs juice to run on, not to mention the gallery van (the control centre), crew, portaloos, food and water.

Despite all of this, the guys turn it around within a few hours and pack it all up again once the red button programme has finished around 9.30pm each night.
