After visiting a site called rockpowerservices.com intendingly looking at daddy mango i came across a band also on this site. The fantastic talent of trio who'z in the room with norman blew me away, the best band ive herd in ages. Its so refreshing to hear a band with great quality, great sond writing ability and a band who can really PLAY! If anyone has a minute check out that site listen to a track(s) called 'dont move the tabel(great bass), 'sort it out'(again bass superb&guitar too)and 'feelin fine' Think this band will do well if given the opportunity there is sure not shortage of talent here! Also would like to say that i really like Astra's voice think its very different and Jodie jones i just love your voice very calming keep hold of that talent it'l take you far! :-)

Would like to ask where are who'z in the room with norman ?? They have had no gigs or none listed for ages. Such a great band to see live with some fantastic potential, really disappointed that there is little infomation about gig dates!! Also none of the band members put messages on the board, visited this site back along and saw some messages from the norman boys, have you given up reading messages? Shame if you have so many people/fans have said great things about you.

just visited the zenn website, had a look at the lyrics page, this stuff is roar, original talent that has to be recognised- look at "Ordinary Day" and "Suicide Bomber", my two favorites. no matter what you think of these guys as a band, you must have a read of these lyrics- absoulute genius! and by the way, i can assure you im not a member of this band, as much as i'd like to be! i've never even heard them(except the demo on here) and was just looking on their site out of pure curiosity when i found this hidden tresure!

Just listened to the 'Norman' demo, it was ok until you started singing. I don't know how anyone can say Russ's voice (Zenn) is poor, compared to 'Norman' Russ is a counrty mile ahead.

How can you compare zenn & norman? different styles, different ethnics- every thing is different but the fact that they are playing music. another difference is that one seems to have a desparate need to please and the other (zenn) seem to just want to play. the attraction i have with the later is that i can find myself deep inside the music of zenn, where as with norman i find myself on the outside looking in-something that never appealed.

There is no contest between Zenn and Norman. Although Zenn are a good band Norman are way out there miles ahead!They perform better, play their instuments so much better and with a pasion, they are touring America and are recording an albam out there with a great producer. I think its great that a little old place like Torbay can produce such talent and potential. Good on the Norman boys i say maybe other bands will be inspired by their talent and success and it will give them the drive they need. Good luck in the USA hope you come home with the record deal you rightly deserve!!!

As a fan of 'Norman' i think i can say that there is no hate to other bands and i think or hope that zenn fans+other fans should have that approach too! every band on this site is here to promote their talent, whether it be good or not so good! This site has got too indepth and people commenting shouldnt make the comments so personal to the band members. Its about the music remember!!! whether you like it or not it doesnt matter and i dont think people should get slated if they dont like a band, bands are there to be liked or disliked. Think everyone should calm down, as a 'Norman' fan im not ashamed to say i like other bands on this site, it seems people are being a bit over protective of their fav band. CAZ CAZ CAZ!!!! What a silly thing to say!!! No matter if you like Zenn or not, EVERY band puts poster up. This is called ADVERTISING!!!! Take time to go to Exeter, where you will see things called POSTER BOARDS. The cavern put posters up everywhere to ADVERTISE bands!!!! I don't like Zenn at all, but some people do which is great. So they have to advertise to inject awarness into the public and get their name out there!!! Good grief, I hope that has sorted the "Poster" ordeal out!!!

Oh my god finally 'caz' you've portrayed Zenn for who they are!!! Thank god there some people who have good hearing. Russ should of given up in plastercast he sounded awful then and no better now!I went to see zenn due to recomendations on this site but is was SO disappointed! I can NOT see why there is so much happiness and positive hype for a mearly average/POOR band!Ive herd other bands who are a tighter unit with a better sound quality. They should be the ones with the comments on the message board not zenn! I believe that zenn have a few solid fans who like to comment on the message board over and over using different names, which is truly sad and does the band no favours! As for the posters 'caz' said it all!! I hate to be so negative but there are really NO positive's to say about zenn!

Great gig at the Wellhouse Zenn, I know it wasn't technically perfect, but you were great nonetheless. The saturday gig at The Dartmouth Inn was superb, pure quality. The bus is wicked! Good luck.

I saw 'zenn' at the dartmouth inn 9/4/05 with 'the worry dolls', the opening set by the worry dolls was really good, and the follow up from zenn was even better- though totally different. most def NOT a waisted night- thanks to both groups. I find some of the recent comments here unfounded, seriously unfounded as i thought the WHOLE band (zenn) provided a great night & atmosphere. the song writing i really loved, along with the vocals!!!

Just to say the Zenn gig at The Dartmouth Inn in Totnes on Sat night was absolutely flawless. Following the technical difficulties of the gig at the Wellhouse on Thurs (which was never the less a great night), the Dartmouth Inn gig was sooooo dam tight - I defy any1 to criticise it! The new songs sound totally original, and I'm loving the vocals that Jamie has brought to their sound. Particular credit to Chris whos drumming was immense! The negative postings on here about Zenn are so boring and more importantly UNTRUE! It makes you wonder about the motivations of these cretins!

i saw Zenn the other night at the wellhouse, what a disappointment they were. Dont believe what you read is my knew moto, i read some very good comments and some bad ones but never the less i thought i'd give it a go. I went along to be extremely disappointed and a waste of a night were i could of been watching a band with real talent. The quality of the performances were terrible and the lead singers voice, well il just say the negative comments are right!! As a positive person i hate to be so negative but i wont lie. To end on a + i wish you all the best and i hope you get better for your sake coz if you want to make it big there is a lot of work to do!

I really dont see what the hype is for Zenn, i just dont get it! The band /lead guitarist is the only good thing to focus on i guess, but least there is a good point about your band. Russ although i dont like your voice credit to your song writing! I went to see zenn at the Wellhouse last night and they are the best band I have seen in the bay for years (despite the feedback and lacking sound equiptment). It takes balls to put out a real live recording, of course it isn't going to sound as good on stereo as a 'tweeked' track - anyone with any sense will already know that. I'm very impressed with the way this band work - refusing to play covers in this area and putting out live and unmixed recordings is hard - only a group with real talent could pull it off!!

Zenn are a fantastic band. Ive seen them live a couple of times around Torbay,and they go from strength to strength. Anyone who rates the lead singer's voice as 'poor' has obviously not heard them live. Listening to 'Suicide Bomber' live is the best thing i've heard for years from a band. The prescence of posters is not desperation for fans merely hard work and committment to a very promising future!

I am a friend and fan of Zenn and I know probably about half of the people who have posted comments about Zenn and they are real and you can probably meet most of them at a Zenn gig. So, I guess the "only possible answer" is ruled out! I don't think any of the bands/artists would make up comments to sway other peoples opinions as that would defeat the object of appearing on a site like this. I'm sorry that the positive comments disappointed you but maybe if you saw them live it may change your mind.

Maybe some people have personal issues that shouldn't be aired here, it's a little childish. jodie jones sounds great and i really liked the zenn song. if you don't like an artist here, inst it better not to comment- unless you want to direct people to them, which was where i found myself making my own judgements- which we actually very positive.

Music is subjective and all the acts that contribute know there may be people who don't like their demos.

In relation to Jakes highly ammusing & highly incorrect comment- many bands all over the world use posters to advertise, exspecially bands from areas like torbay where there is not much exposure. i, as someone who has not seen zenn live, i can say i too have seen posters and as a result i will be at the events advertised by the band or their management. the zenn demo i thought was very touching and i cannot agree with your opinion on the vocals. to comment on the negative comments, its obvious you have some issues- as you make a point to aviod mentioning the many possitive & supportive comments left for or aimed at the band- which for me are far more rellevant. well done zenn, keep up the good work.

Right been on the Zenn site and listed to the following songs; 'feels so good';was the singer actually singing?or shouting? 'magic carpet ride';was good until singing started,good lead guitar though! 'i remember it well';the poorest out of all,vocals poor throughout. 'suicide bomber';band sound off in this song and again i just cant stand the singers voice. 'factory line';now im open to all types of music but is this a joke! 'i dont believe me'; the best out of all for me even better if there was no vocals. i really wanted to like Zenn but i just couldnt even force myself to like their style. It is good you have a web site though so people get the chance to listen to other material. Its a shame because the song writing and band performance is good i feel the vocals let you down extremely! Just listened to every single demos on this site, and some great stuff!Dont know whats in the air down there but its obviously working! Jodie Jones what a beautiful vioce! Fosta great stuff, so original! But Who'z In The Room With Norman?' just fantastic, great work! Good to here an original band who can play their instuments well, sing well and not resemble the same old manufactured rubbish! If your not signed there is no justic in the British music industry. Just to comment on the Zenn debate; for people like me who cant see Zenn live we have to go on the demo, they may well of improved but if you put a poor demo on you have to expect bad comments and the negative comments which have been said are very fair and true to the quality of the demo!

Would just like to suggest that anyone who is in doubt about the hype surrounding Zenn, should get along to The Wellhouse in Paignton on Thurs April 7th 8:00pm onwards. I'm sure this live performance will display how far the band have progressed since they produced the unmixed & unmastered demo on this site, and perhaps clear up some of the dispute that is reoccurring on this site.

suprised at all of this negative talk about ZENN, i saw them recently and was well impresed- im sure that the voice that some are refering to as 'very poor' is not the voice that i heard, whether your a fan of their music or not i find it hard to see how someone can call this guys voice poor, especially if you've had the chance to see them live. agree that the demo doesn't do the band them justice though, loved the song live, seems that they've perhaps come a long way since that recording. checked out the web-site, also liked magic carpet ride, but again im not convinced that it's a true/fair representation of them. overall though, i think you guys great potential and i cant wait to hear you again in the summer, and perhaps some more recordings before that. best of luck.

having seen ZENN live and herd the demo i feel i can give my opinion fully,mind you im no expert or the next simon cowel! deffinately thought their demo is very poor,one of ZENN's worst efforts infact! didnt think so highly of their live performance either people seemed to promote ZENN as a great band to see live, unfortunately i was greatly disappointed by their efforts. there is definitely far too much hype for this band in my opinion, it started before they were even on devon demos and feel a few others have been disappointed after reading how good you are and finding your not all that your made out to be. as i said, this is just my personal opinion.

i dont agree with mat or phil, i like the zenn singers voice. jimi hendrix, bob dylan didnt have great voices, but they make/made a few $$$

i Saw zenn at the cavern here in exeter and i thought they were ace live, i dont remember them being so 'light' as on the demo here. not one of their most rockin tunes i admit but still i really like the track. all this rubbish about the vocals, i really love them.

Phil your spot on mate! Zenn are so over-rated! If you like 'Norman's' style check out one of their gigs, bass sounds even better live he lets his fingers do the rockin. Ive been to a couple of their gigs they give there all every single time! Not sure when their next gig is, anyone know?? I think you'l agree that Norman need a web site, gota get thoes other tunes out there! Great stuff 'Norman'

just listened to zenn. and my god, i thought plastercast were bad enough. russel just doesnt know when to stop. why is there so much happiness and joy flying about this band? norman. doin the right thing. being a great soundin band. drums are cool, bass is pretty amazin. talk about walkin basslines. fast fingers i guess. and the guitar is just as good. great harmonies. got any more songs to enlighten us with????

I've just listened to the Jodie Jones demo - it's really beautiful. I noticed her album is entitled "All Dressed Up" - it'd be interesting to know if this has been inspired by the Damien Rice song "Prague" which contains the lyric "all dressed up". There are certainly similarities between their styles. (Just wana put another recommendation out for people to come and see Zenn on 7th April at The Wellhouse in Paignton - should be a great set). (This site and message board is a great idea btw).

What a fantatic site didnt know it existed its great people can here the talent that can come from Devon. Listened to a few demos thought Fosta, Jodie Jones very good, but Who'z In The Room With Norman really great stuff like your work guys, the band sounds great and vocals equally good, your obviously set to do fantastic and the whole USA thing sez it all really!! On a negative note didnt like Adam Westcott vocals very off guitar different though. Zenn nothing more than average thought vocals were VERY poor and finally Bow Jenkins appreciate it for what it was but not really my cupa tea. Thanks
