Concert Information

What better way for the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Symphony Orchestra to open its 2015-16 season than with Chief Conductor Sakari Oramo conducting Mahler's vast, exuberant Third Symphony? In the composer’s own words, this six-movement masterpiece was a ‘gigantic musical poem ... It begins at the heart of inanimate nature and progresses to the love of God.' Here song and symphony are inextricably mixed, and we’re delighted to welcome back Karen Cargill to sing the magical ‘midnight song’ and to join the Trinity Boys Choir for the angels’ celestial chorus.
